PlayStation 4 – Pre-order the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection on PlayStation 4 to receive Ultra Street Fighter IV, the final updated version of the original Street Fighter IV. If you pre-order the physical copy, you'll receive the game as a digital code on the receipt in North America. For European physical pre-orders, please check with participating retailers for details. If you pre-order the digital copy, you'll receive the code one to two weeks after May 29.

Xbox One – Pre-order the physical or digital copy to receive two separate codes: one for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition and the other for Ultra Street Fighter IV, which is playable due to backwards compatibility. That's a great deal, basically with this you get all the mainline Street Fighter games before V

I'll still pick it up on PS4 though, most of my friends will be there, although besides the novelty, I don't see playing the online in this game that much

Seems like a cool work-around to get past Sony's current-gen exclusivity over USFIV.

That said, sounds like a great pre-order bonus. Xbox One owners basically get every mainline SF game except for SFV.

Wow thats a good deal. If I didnt have digital copies of Arcade and Ultra I would pre order.

I'll wait to see how good the ports are and pick it up a little after launch now.

SFV is a PS4 console exclusive, plus it's not like Capcom's gonna sell the current SF game as part of a collection like this.

They can't, Sony has current-gen console exclusivity over USFIV. Microsoft only has Ultra because they did the SSFIV:AE + Ultra DLC work-around via backwards compatibility.

Isn't it less hassle to just buy USF4 on PS4 for $12.49 right now rather than sell your stick and buy a new one? Plus, then you can play the whole collection, plus USF4, plus SFV all on the same console.

Sony has USF4 exclusivity? Where was that said, I was under the impression they simply funded the port to promote SFV?

To my knowledge, it's current-gen console exclusivity like what Sony has over Injustice 1. The fact that Microsoft had to do the work-around rather than just get Capcom to port USFIV to XB1 or make USFIV backwards compatible lends credence towards this.

Like I said, Sony's current-gen exclusivity over USFIV kinda complicates things on that front. Plus they already sell USFIV separately on PS4.

I'm asking for a source. This is literally the first time I'm hearing this and can't find anything myself googling.

Most of my friends switched back over to Xbox and honestly SFV just doesn't do it for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Grabbing SF over there will complete my third party move to Microsoft.

It was actually explained to me on Discord, so I'll see if I can find a link. But if I recall correctly, Sony paid for the USFIV port, hence the exclusivity (I remember a mention of this during PSX 2014).

USF4 PS4 is actually a 1st party game, Sony funded, produced and published it. Capcom had nothing to do with it but that doesn't mean Sony has any automatic exclusivity rights over it. Why would they bother doing that, it's an ancient game?

Similar to how Nintendo ported Bayonetta 1 to Wii U and Switch, that doesn't mean they hold console exclusivity over that game. It was just a nice bonus they did to help promote the sequels.

edit: looked up the PSX 2014 coverage specifically and you're right! Well, half right, USF4 was a timed exclusive. I'd assume that window's probably over at this point.

Coincidentally USF4 first became available on Xbox One BC almost exactly 2 years after the PS4 port released.

Part of the agreement appears to legitimately be a restriction on it being released elsewhere for current-gen systems. Which is reasonable for planning a new-gen port like that (your budget depends on the theoretical size of the market, and if you're shoe-stringing it, you don't want different productions of the same game competing against each other if the audience is limited). It caused real frustrations due to quality problems on the PS4 version at EVO, and they were forced to play on 360 that year. Other Ocean Interactive caught flack for the quality issues, even though it was probably more about how little they were budgeted in the agreement.

As I remember Capcom and Sony had a deal where Sony got console exclusive for this gen for SFV and USFIV port, because Sony made the port, put a gazillion dollars for Capcom Pro Tour prizes and also put money for SFV.

This means there wouldn't be a XBO USFIV port, but isn't needed because of the BC.

As I remember they weren't on time for EVO but patched the issues post lauch.

No, there are some missing like SFV, SF Alpha 3 Max, SFAlpha 2 Gold, Hyper SF2, SF 2010 and the SFEX games.

This is great. These are actually tangible, useful things that people would want for pre-order bonuses rather than avatars and useless cosmetics. Support this!

I'm getting the collection on PS4 (because of stick) and Switch (because of portable) but I fully support this. It's a great value proposition.
