The article itself doesn't state the capabilities so it's interesting that they are laying out what the box can do.

Love it or hate the new Xbox, I love seeing stuff like this. New generation hype is the best. So many cool games coming our way. Can't wait to see the PS5!

Possibility of 120 FPS and 8K? Hoh'kay.

I hate the buildup to new systems. All this marketing and PR talk drives me crazy.

Imagine how shit the graphics have to be to run 4K@120fps

24 fps is all we need. Moar graphics, less framerates!

It's capable of 8K output.

No game is going to be rendered at native 8K unless its an extremely simple indie game, and even that I doubt.

They really need to be careful with overselling what it can do. It's a mistake every company seems to make.

Seriously misleading with the blanket "4x the power of Xbox One X", cause that sure as shit isn't related to GPU power.

Honestly I'd be happy if devs stopped releasing games at 30 FPS. 60 should be a minimum target, graphics be damned.

Why would you say 4X the power? How can they define that? Stick with broad strokes and weasel wording...

I think the 4x mainly comes through not using a shit CPU anymore. Which will probably be the biggest boon for gaming together with the SSD.

It also makes me scared how big devs will go tbh.

Not really. They're not going to say "the fastest" until they have 100% confirmation on PS5 specs.

Yup. Plus, they are pretty much hinting it all over, the reveal image just said "Fastest, most powerful". Not "fastest most powerful Xbox" I'm sure there's fine print with an asterisk, but the takeaway they want you to have is unmistakably aimed at the competition. but, they really want to tell you something...

The 4x is referencing the CPU.

It's 2x the GPU, at least when speaking about theoretical numbers

You've got to think Xbox knows the Sony specs by now.

it being able to do 8K and 120fps doesnt mean it can do it at the same time, it doesnt mean games will be rendered at 8K let alone 120fps....

cmon some of you should know better for being what is presumed to be an enthusiast board. Xbox One S is capable of 4K but you wont see it play Gears 5 in 4K but if you put in a 4K blu ray or turn on Netflix guess what you will get...

OK, let's calm down on this 8K and 120 frames business. We're still sorting out the 4K, 60 frames things. Or sometimes the 1080p, 30 frames thing.

I look forward to misinformation this tweet will cause.

Pretty sure they mean it can do 4k/60fps and 4k/120fps, while also being able to render up to 8K but no framerate is specified.

How long will it be after the Xbox Series X releases until they come out with a more powerful revision people feel they need to upgrade to? Hopefully they stick with this one for a good while.
