Oh god, I think I had completely forgotten Momo existed until you brought her up. Yeah, I guess that's entirely a fair point.
And u know whats funny. He said that he would also hate seeing Porn in his Gundam..... when literally porn is in the shows since the first one lol.

Loli bath scene? U got it.

Sex scene? Ohh don't worry Gundam also had that for ya guys.^_^

I don't get it, either. There isn't a single non-starting armor set in the first game for Sharla that doesn't turn her into a space hooker, and one of Fiora's sets has straight-up exposed ass-crack.
It is the same reason those people will keep complaining about Pyra and Dahlia every second while no one talk shit about Kos-Mos and T-Elos which shows up on Xeno 2 as they don't want to tarnish their beautiful Xenosaga memory.

I mean, at the end of the day I'd like to think people should be happy for MonolithSoft that they have finally achieved a decent commercial success after so many years. And they accomplished this with a team that was reduced in staff and had to rely more on outsourcing as well.

The studio will hopefully be allowed more resources for their future titles. And of course, just the fact that they'll for certain be maintained by Nintendo as a worthwhile investment is alone good news.

And that is shitty argument as the one IP he is fighting for right now is one hella of an otaku pandering IP with Xenosaga existing. Kos-Mos is sexy robot, T-Elos is some sexy robot, Momo is loli pandering. And now suddenly he had hard time accepting that Xeno series is not pandering IP?

You know, i had no problem admitting that Fates had shitty stories or Awakening had bad map design there. I mean, it is proven there that there is problem on Awakening and Fates too.

But what i can't stand is some those who love kicking both Fates and Awakening and act like they are the worst thing ever while praising Echoes like no tomorrow. When Echoes itself is also filled with many stupid problem that in some case i feel makes it worst than Awakening and Fates there.
That part is fair enough. I agree that Awakening and Fates get a lot of undue hate and it gets very silly sometimes. I just don't think it should be said that the only reason people praise or like Shadows of Valentia is out of spite and that it's actually a horrible game.

I don't think anybody isn't happy for them. At most, some people might not like the direction they are going with their games, but not so much to wish them ill. Like MonolithSoft went through soooo much to get to this point. Publisher issues and their own issues.

Honestly, I don't think FE Switch will have nearly the level of pandering and sexualization present in XBC2 or FE Fates. I even expect them to use a new artist instead of Kozaki.
I sincerely hope you’re right. God, it’s been so long since there’s been a Fire Emblem I’ve actually enjoyed.

Nah you're not in the minority here since both are solid games.

You also forgot to mention that he was using the same cues that people use to shit on FatesAwakening to shit on SoV.
Oh please. I am just kinda had it with so many FE purist fans who act like Awakening and Fates is what ruin FE while they keep praising Echoes. When all those release had its own problem there. Hell, i still dream that i would be able to see FE6 remake as that is my favorite and even i know that it had flaws there. It is the purist way of saying that keep triggering me here.

Except Kozaki didn't have that much to do with some of the bad designs in fates (IE, he designed Camilla but not her ""armor"") so FESwitch could give us a character that is running around in their underpants again if someone like Kusakihara demands it in the game.

If anything I want them to pander even harder than they have before just to watch the fireworks here.
I don't really care if they pander or not. As long as the gameplay takes a lot of lesson from Conquest, had great characters design like Awakening, Great music like Echoes and actually a great stories. I would eat taht game without any problem.

"The designs are trash, the game its bad, how could people possibly like it!?"

Getting Fire Emblem Awakening flashbacks here. Also selective memory considering the designs of previous Xeno games.

No i am arguing on the fact that you are saying that the reason Xeno 2 is selling is simply because of the consoles and not the game itself which is insulting if you ask me. Xeno 2 can sold this far is simply because it is a good product period. Not some mumbo jumbo that probably won't even effect the sales by any huge amount there.
Well, aside from the fact I have repeatedly said the exact opposite of that over and over and over and over again. Come on, try man. There is more to this than must defend/attack nintendo.

Those conditions are just WHY it will be impossible for Xb2 to sell less than it's previous entries. The simple fact of the matter is, if the game wasn't of monolithsofts established design quality, there would be no expectations of it being impossible to sell less than predecessors. If the game dropped massively in design quality, the sales would be a crater, advantageous conditions or no. The quality of the gane is literally a cornerstone of the argument. It's a constant, it's Freaking modern monolithsoft. I wouldn't be able to make said argument if that were not the case. The fact it is such a strongly designed game is why they dropped the ball with its... narrower appealing coat of paint. And that's literally what a lot of people's problems are, a cosmetic coat of paint, that has nothing to do with the world design, or mechanics, or any other aspect of the actual game. But as you can see by every thread, it's become quite the point of contention.

And how the hell is Xenoblade not a niche jrpg till Xeno2 when it never even able to beat any of those Gear or Saga number even once till now.O_O You are talking no sense there. Don't make Xenoblade into something it is not there. Xenoblade for how much critical darling it is to all its fans and jrpg fans, it is a niche game.
Bro niche appealing games don't Get a freaking campaign demanding localization.... that succeeds. Niche games aren't the centerpiece of every direct they are in.... for YEARS. Xenoblade had a fire other jrpg's didn't, from the first time it was shown as Monado, with just running around the environments. And good niche jrpg's all too often don't even break 100k. This isn't a binary situation.

It's not sell at least 5 million or more and be a mainstream juggernaut, or you're Niche.

As for the older games, for starters, once you consider those games release environments you will get the similar advantages xb2 had over the other entries in the series. With the added advantage of being in the golden age of jrpgs.
It does not even come close Kirby number in the past and this one would also not be able to scratch any of Kirby sales number there. That shows how niche Xenoblade as a series is.
A thirty year strong mascot character franchise shows how niche xenoblade is?

Kirby sales history demolishes metroids.

Does that mean metroid is some obscure no name series?

No, metroid is one of the most iconic brands in the industry. It's brand has massive recognition and power, and sales is only an aspect of that.

Being able to capitalize on that brand power, and get those potential sales such a powerful brand should be capable of, sadly, is more complicated than the surface glance would lead one to believe. It's something Nintendo has shown trouble with even with something as powerful as the metroid brand.

Here try this. Start naming actual gaming design related aspects of xenoblade 2 that make it such a great game (not things like cutscenes or writing, which make for great art, but things directly related to making a great game, that other mediums, like books or movies, just don't have). with some of your favourite examples.

Awakening saved the franchise and gave the series mainstream popularity, anyone who can't recognize that is fooling themselves. It's also a good game, it has some flaws but it made some very necessary changes to make the series more accessible.
Except Kozaki didn't have that much to do with some of the bad designs in fates (IE, he designed Camilla but not her ""armor"") so FESwitch could give us a character that is running around in their underpants again if someone like Kusakihara demands it in the game.
I'm not saying Kozaki is fully responsible for the character designs, I'm just saying I think they will use a new artist in general. He clearly bears some responsibility though.

Nah they'll keep Kozaki but they're gonna tone down everything else. Int Sys is very receptive to people's feedback as they've shown time and time again and considering those elements were constantly criticized for Fates I wouldn't be surprised if the only element the remains is that one or two characters have a fanservice design and they'll probably be a side character you get in ch. 8 rather than one of the main casts. Y'know kind of like most other Fire Emblem games.

I actually think Fates had some of the better Character designs in the series. Felicia, Saizo, Azura, Effie (but terrible armor ruins her), Elise, Hinoka (she kinda looks like that one girl in Xenoblade 2 lol), Takumi, etc.

Enemy design alone is some of the best in the series. Those promoted classes looked great.

But I might be on the minority here

User Banned (1 Day): Advocating piracy.
Yeah, it's ls tough to find, because a lot of the original source links you can find in the articles leading up to the na launch, and in the months after for xenoblade are dead now. Even the articles on it, like igns link to a 404 now.

The only one that's left that I can find is the torrent freak 2011 tracker, showing xenoblade debut into the world of the pirate king at about just under 1 million in December of 2011.

https://torrentfreak.com/?s=Xenoblade

Anything xenoblade specific, has just gone down over the years, and links to the pages now 404. Maybe someone good with archive pages or something can find them. It's beyond my skill set in this regaurd.

But you don't Really need anything more, the original debut of 1 million makes the point quite succinctly.

There is confusion beyond that, because people brought up all the unreachable torrent sites that don't provide numbers, with some estimates being twice as high or more. Well, sure, it's conceivably possible, but that also applies to every other game, and it' also conceivably possible the most pirated game of all time isn't even on any list. But you can only work with what you got. But again, even if the number ended up at 2 million (And the highest I saw was 1.2) the initial 2011 amount 6 months before the na release, is more than enough to get the point of the games handling problems across.
Piracy is hardly an indicator of lost sales. People download just because they can. I know someone who downloads all the movies and shows at 4k blueray lossless, just because he can. That was literally his reason. Most pirates who like the game tend to buy it as well so it usually helps games a bit instead.

https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017...acy-doesnt-hurt-game-sales-may-actually-help/

As a pirate who downloads games I would never pay for normally and buy the games if i do like them, I agree with that idea.

You aren't wrong, the base designs are better than Awakening's, especially for the Hoshidan design (I think Kozaki's style is far more suited to eastern weapons/armor than western). The writing is just far worse, and a few of the character designs really doubled down on the pandering, and the presentation doubled down on the pandering too (like Camilla's intro cutscene)

Nah you're right. Awakening and Fates' art and presentation in general is aces. Those characters are also some of the more popular characters from Fates too so its not like they're totally unappreciated.

Kirby actually doesn’t “demolish” Metroid. The majority of both series’ games fall into the 1-2m range

Yeah, both of those statements make sense, though I don't think Kozaki had too much control in regards to the armor designs at least. I'd love if we could get Hidari back for FE16 but I'm inclined to say that she will be a one off unfortunately.

I think it's more likely for Hidari to do the next remake than the next original game in the series. Keeping a unified aesthetic for the Echoes branch of game seems like a good idea imo.

And Senran Kagura isn't full of "creepy otaku pandery framing, posing, writing, and designs"? Seriously?

Look, I really don't care if you like fanservice or not. I just think saying "this game is in this genre so fanservice is unacceptable, yet I'm totally fine with the same type of fanservice in another genre" is pretty hypocritical and thus hard to take seriously.
That kills me as well. I will never get over the excuses people on here make for Bayonetta, 2B, Cindy, Lady, etc.

Kozaki may not be available for FE16 because of the new NMH, but there are so many artists that do lewder designs, that not wanting Kozaki back may be a monkey paw wish :^)

Yeah I think you'e right, I went looking for other sources after your post, and they were a lot more consistent than what I glanced at (which I traced back to vgchartz so... whelp), and considerably lower. The top selling was the original, at 5 mil, and the first prime was at 4 something, so yeah it's too comparable for 'demolished.

But Kirby can be replaced with another well off selling game that's not Mario levels, metroids iconic status remains, despite its sales not matching it's massive brand power.

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who loved FE Fates. I really like Echoes as well, especially since it has voice acting and the gameplay is a nice change of pace from others in the series.

I do hope they port X to the Switch. Never finished the game or did any of the multiplayer stuff on Wii U(which no longer exists now I think). The battle system in X gave me headaches though.(and the small print, lol). I kind of like that Xeno 1 combat was more simplistic, but still enjoyable and involved some strategy. Xeno 2 is pretty damn good as well once I understood the system.

New Fire Emblem artist is Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Masatsugu's Saito signing a new contract having him for the next 3 Fire Emblem games.

I wouldn't mind this at all as I think his art is good and he can make some great characters but this would absolutely induce the most salt.
