X2 the worst Xenoblade game by far (even so it is good).

Hopefully the developer don't draw the false conclusions from this sales and make the next Xenoblade like X2 but with even more anime soft porn and overreacting/mega emotional boring characters.

Xenoblade 2's budget is actually not that high as far as I know.

They are probably making tons of money actually.

Xeno 2 is made not in full team there. Many of their employee is gone to help BoTW there. So they uses help from outsourcing.

The fact that this is already the best selling Xeno series under a year, we can see it keep selling too as there is no huge jrpg competitor right now. And the great season pass+ meme is going to push this game even further lol.

That`s great, i guess Nintendo not pushing hardware specs too much is also helping in this sense.

Now is time for me to catch up with the saga, it`s just so hard for me to invest time in 90 hours rpg these days XD

As much as I like the Xenoblade series I think a lot of its success probably has to do with when it launched above most everything else. It was a AAA-Game that happened to launch on a system that had a limited pool of AAA-Games to choose from at the time. I'm not saying it's a horrible game or anything, but I am curious as to how this game would have performed if it wasn't the only major JRPG available.

Despite Xenoblade 2 being my least favorite of the three games (But I still like it), I'm very happy to hear this. But I'm hoping we still get new games more along the lines of the first Xenoblade and Xenoblade X, which I feel were a touch more mature. I feel like Monolithsoft does listen to fans, given Takahashi was all too aware of the complaints about the character models in the previous games, so hopefully they'll find a happy middle ground for everyone. Perhaps Xenoblade will just do what Zelda does and tries a new art style every new game. I'd be totally fine with this.

At any rate, Monolithsoft is my favorite RPG developer and has been for some time. Really happy for them, and looking forward to their future entries.

I feel XC2 got more and more mature as the game continued especially when it started actually challenging its narrative of wanting to live forever or the flaws of possibly being able to live forever

I never played any Xeno game but I remember the big hype behind Xenoblade Chronicles 1 altought I never played it.

The conversation around the sequel seems a bit more tame. Is it as good as the first one if you haven't played that one?

I'm kinda curious to play it and I want a big meaty title for the Switch but I'm not sure about it.

Only 310K for Japan??? Maybe Monolithsoft should really focus more on international market for the future Xeno game. Yes, it has a lot of cliche from anime but still very enjoyable, a better game than XB1.
Imagine a futre Xeno game with the story/character of Xenogear/Xenosaga, and the system of XC2, that would be the peak of JRPG.

Before all the list wars and explanations start because of this, i'll just say that I enjoyed it the most of the three, and that the gameplay and battle systems are a huge step up from the old and feel very engaging and rewarding when you pull it off successfully (though the BLADE gacha was not so great at launch with no animation skipping like there is now). The periphery gameplay systems of XCX I would say are way beyond what you see in this game though, but that game was absolutely ridiculous with its systems and all of their individual customizations.

It's a good-ass game for your Switch, and I personally put in like 180 hours into it just playing 15-20 mins here and there during the week with sidequests and whatnot, and longer sessions and more main story stuff on my off days. I think if you just want story only, coupled with the easy-mode, you could probably beat the game in like 30 hours. But the choice really is yours; I played it for as long as I did because I just enjoyed playing it that much.

Well deserved, really terrific game despite its flaws. Here's hoping the next one has the full team and isn't rushed towards the end, because it truly deserves it.

Now can we get that Xenoblade Chronicles HD Remaster already?

Well deserved game. Hopefully the next game is similar to Xenoblade 2 except with more polish this time..

I like that you can do short sessions because that's what I'm into these days (with longer sessions on weekends or something like that).

Did they improve the portable experience since launch? I heard that wasn't great.

Also, thanks for the info!

What defines me as a hater of xeno 2? the fact that im not head over heels in love with it? Ive never made a single thread about, ive always backed my arguments and i put 100 hours in it and i consider it a 7/10 game.
On the contrary ive never seen you admit to a single problem with the game. Repeatedly ridiculing everyone who dares criticize it.
and yes i am saying that, unless you can explain why games like knack and 1-2 switch or even a $50 street fighter 2 are the pinnacle of quality and value proposition and thats the sole reason for their high sales.
I remember you saying, "It's underperformed" every week on Media Create thread despite contrary evidence

I remember the "Operation Rainfall*" thing for the americas, so every initiator and supporter has their shares in this success, kind of.

Really glad Nintendo is supporting relative niche genres and series. I was o fan of XC1 on Wii.

Glad to hear Xenoblade 2 still has some legs since launch month. Does 1.5m LTD seem like a safe bet at this point?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Q1 2018 results in July are the last time we get an update on Xenoblade 2 numbers since it might get bumped off the top ten by the time Smash Bros. arrives (assuming Smash is a September release).

It's ironic how the Xeno I like the less is the one that sold the most : (.
Still hope for previous ones to come back and sell well.

I definitely agree with you. Chapters 7 to 10 are my favorite chapters because they felt more mature, and more "Xeno-like" and sci-fi. I kinda feel like Xenoblade 2 was designed to be an "introductory" to the Xeno world since the tone and storytelling of the game drastically changes from start to finish. In the beginning you have a lot more anime cliches, and the cartoony sweat drop on Dromarch and Nia's red sparkling eye thing when she sees the wanted poster, and others. A lot of that cartoony stuff only happens in the first half of the game and kinda fades over time, like the devs were trying to ease new players into the Xeno franchise and gain new fans which I think we can say they succeeded in.

So, looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here and hopefully we get more of what we saw in chapters 7 to 10 and less of what we saw in 1-5 (You could say I'm neutral on 6).

Xenoblade 2 is a great game with one of the best battle systems of the last few years. I just hope they don't see the success and conclude the fan service pandering did the heavy lifting. Also, i pray to whatever god necessary for no Gacha like shit in an eventual sequel.

go right fucking ahead and prove that i posted in the media creates thread about xenoblade every week and i'll personally request a permaban from a mod. those threads are fanboy cancer and if i ever posted it it'd probably have been the launch week. I'm sick of this nonsense and personal attacks,I've clearly posted my thoughts on the game a billion times and i even said its a good game with a lot of flaws. But clearly i spent 100hrs on it because i wanted to hate it.

Tell you what, grow some balls and request an equivalent punishment of your choosing should be found to be lying.

For what part ha ha. I'm guessing the second sentence.

With the new rare blade and the recent Namco Bandai trademark thing I'm beginning to think Monolith is preparing us for Xenosaga on the Switch : (. Pls...

I also can't wait the inevitable X port/remaster/whatever. Playing Xenoblade 2 only made me wish I could get back to X battle system. Poor game got released on a cursed(or cursing) system.

This is amazing! Hope the game continues to sell, it deserves to be played by more people.

Now use the money you earned in a bigger budget for the next XC Nintendo/MS!

Amazing game, one of the best on the Switch. Hopefully that solidifies an Xenoblade Chronicles X port and additional entries.

Pretty impressive the game was able to sell ~200k in a relatively quiet quarter.

I guess the question is now if it stops at 1.5 million or can get to 2 million. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised to hear about Xenoblade 3 at some point in the future.
