Went and finished Majima's story in Kiwami 2. That ending! Right in the feels! :(
Yeah didn't expect that plot line to come back. It was really touching actually

I teared up. That was some great fanservice. Probably my favorite part of Kiwami 2.Yeah didn't expect that plot line to come back. It was really touching actually
Y4 is finally growing on me a bit, as I've fleshed out Akiyama's sub stories. The music is great as always, might be my favorite "general fight" music so far.
But honestly, when the fuck do I get to play as Kiryu? I'm still in Part 1 (Chapter 3) so early on but ehhh I want to play as Kiryu or Majima. Akiyama is cool and all...eh. I'm trying to keep an open mind on this one.

Nothing yet but it would make little sense to port Y0 and Kiwami and just leave it at that. There was also an official SEGA document (I think quarterly reports) that mentioned Yakuza 6 as a PS4/PC title.Have just started a new game of 0 in preparation for the release of Kiwami later this month. Has there been any word about bringing Kiwami 2 and the rest of the franchise to Steam?
I'm pretty sure that happens between 0 and 1, but either way I wouldn't bother giving that plot point too much attention; it's pretty sloppy and does nothing for the character, IMO.Just beat Yakuza 0, my 3rd Yakuza game after 4 and 5
I think it's maybe my favourite, but I also really loved 5
I have a question though, which I will ask under a spoiler
When did Majima meet, marry and divorce Mirei? in 0 he's 24 and I kind of get the impression Makoto is his first love, so did his wife come before or after that point?

Here is my slight update to a previous post I made in this thread.
What a bummer. I was really hoping that I would fall in love with Yakuza. After two business trips to Japan I fell absolutely in love with Tokyo and the culture. It's rare I don't think about my experiences there on a daily basis. Every since I've been slowly consuming more Japanese content and enjoying it a lot. Especially since I actively avoided it previously.
I fell in love with Persona 5 after I bought it purely because of the idea of being able to walk around in an anime Tokyo lol. And I was hoping that Yakuza 0 would do the same for me as P5 did. But I'm just no having fun at all. I'm not far at all (barely got past Chapter 1) and it's already such a massive choir to play. The story has some interesting hooks but the cut scenes are too long, too frequent and just not really engaging. And the actual gameplay just isn't any fun to me. The combat is clunky and just not fun to engage in. Though some of the animations made me laugh pretty good.
It's just such a darn shame because I notice all the side activities and stories that are no doubt super cool. But I just can't muster the energy to plough through it see if it'll get fun later on.
Maybe some day later I will try again and hopefully enjoy the series as much as you people here. :-(
Tellin you man, Atlus gonna team up with SEGA again and do Ryu Ga Gotoku Q for Switch. It'll sell millions. Announced on today's Direct, BELIEVE!1!People keep asking for Yakuza on Switch.
How about a Switch in Yakuza?
I got a key on fanatical for like 13.99 I think? Not sure if it's still thereAnybody able to point me in the direction of the cheapest place to get Kiwami on PC in NA? I want to double dip (was in day one on PS4) but ideally at a bit of a discount.
Despite loving Yakuza 4, I've forgotten an awful lot of that story as well (bar the really crazy plot twists). Glad you enjoyed 0 :)Just beat Yakuza 0 as my first in the series. Damn, what a good story. I bought Yakuza 4 actually first for PS3 but I don't remember any of the story, and I barely just had made it to about Chapter 4. Can't wait to play the rest of these in order. Damn, Sega did good with this series.
The one thing I really remember loving in 4 was the finale set of fights. Despite my issues withJust rolled credits on 4. One of my favorite stories in the series so far, although I consider the actual game design a bit of a mixed bag.
On to 5, in between Anthem..
One of my few problems with Zero is how it literally retreads an exact theme of Yakuza 2, and lessens its importance since we see the same angle twice.
Still love both games though.

The one thing I really remember loving in 4 was the finale set of fights. Despite my issues withas a character sometimes I felt his and Kiryu's confrontation at the end to be the most epic (and surprising, in boss choice) of the bunch.Daigo
Yeah the entire set of fights was amazing, really climatic and satisfying way to tie up all the loose ends
Which theme exactly, I'm thinking you meandragon vs dragon? Or am I way off? As I definitely feel that 2 was way, way more powerful in that regard - in that the whole Kamuro Vs Kansai Dragons was better developed than Shibusawa's last minute reveal. But I do think dragons are overdone in the tattoo department in the series - haven't a few others had dragons as well? I know Ichiban has one as well, with its "gimmick" that its part Carp, part Dragon with the symbolism that its mid evolution - like how it was mentioned in 1 that Nishiki's Carp would "evolve" once he beat Kiryu and got Tojo's top spot, its sorta implied that Ichiban's character will evolve as Shin RGG progresses. I think? Its a cool idea anyway whatever it means.

The localization producers, Scott Strichart and Sam Mullen, had a series of streams that are exactly what you're looking for. I'm pretty sure you can find them all archived on YouTube under "The Yakuza Adventures of Scott and Sam".Hey guys weird question here, but does anyone know of anyone good resources concerning the localization of the recent series entries? I'm interested in how the localizers make the setting accessible to western audience while still keeping the story distinct and giving flavor. Anything about 0 is especially interesting since the bubble era is much less familiar to western audiences than it is to Japanese audiences.
Majima Everywhere, Now with Save Everywhere.Asked in the Discord already, but I may as well ask here too. Any ideas for the Kiwami PC OT title?
Kiwami always had save everywhere though. Just not autosave everywhere ;)
