People who backed Yooka-Laylee may remember that Playtonic promised a dev commentary series as a stretch goal, and though it took a while they've finally released Part 1 of the series, in which they go through the Prologue comprised of Bat Ship Crazy and Hivory Towers.

I had high hopes for this game. And it did a lot of things right.
But in the end, I couldn't bother to complete it. The casino level gave me the rest. So dull and blunt.

Loved this game post-patch after they fixed the abysmal camera. It felt like an N64 game in the truest sense. Can't wait to watch this!

I generally really enjoyed the game more than most people, but their lack of updates has not given me much confidence or interest in whatever they have planned beyond this game.

I will try to watch all of these if I can though. Hopefully they release them at a sensible clip.

I would really like to pick this up on Switch at a decent price but the sales have been weak and price too high, while its been $10-15 on other platforms.

Switch sales suck.

They promised a retro throwback and you're gonna get it, right down the the part where they starve fans of info for months on end while they keep their heads down working hard on their next game. That's classic Rare for ya.

It's... kinda similar to Spyro? It's basically a lawyer-friendly sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, which was itself aping the formula of Mario 64. If you like those games then I'd recommend it.

Just thought I'd bump this as episode 2 was released a couple days go. There's some really gret info in it and the way they're taking criticisms to heart makes me very excited for Playtonic's future project.

I still haven't gotten all the way through the last episode yet but so far I echo Kinsei's thoughts, I'm glad they are very aware of the game's flaws and have no plans to repeat them in the sequel. I was a little disappointed to hear that the somewhat boring Knights of Hamalot were originally going to be the Knights of Gamealot, which would have surely made for some far funnier jokes than what we got. Maybe they can pull a Jolly Roger and give them a new persona like that in the next game.
