Easy no.

I wouldn't want to give up my girlfriend, and even if I was still single I woudn't want to give up the possibility of a relationship.

I've been single my entire life. Not pressed about it.

Give me financial security.

If you've already found someone then you're actively trading them for money, which is dumb. But if you're already single and have no problem remaining that way, taking money changes nothing.

EDIT: Man reading through this thread, it's produced some choice posts. No, being single is not a problem to correct. Millions of people around the world can, and do, in fact live single and happy, fulfilling lives. People in here thinking you need an SO or you're automatically bound to have a "miserable" life is some warped shit.

The question is meaningless without the fine print. Can I have sex? Girlfriend? One Night stand? Live with somebody? Have kids?

Worthless first post.

Absolutely. But I would've done the room alone in the dark for 30 days for 100k, too.

*pulls out binding agreement*

'Single' so as defined herein means no romantic relationships of any term; escorts or prostitutes/gigolos excluded as long as conducted as a business transaction in exchange of sexual service (though paying for an intimate relationship in any capacity will count as a violation). However, no committal, romantic partnerships, not even 'going steady', will be permissible. Current relationship(s) would be dissolved, no domestic living arrangements in which a residence is shared eligible for negotiation, and the beneficiary must relocate their own residence at least a sizable city away from the former partner. Besides that, periodic associations and visits are allowed, a la typical post-divorce conditions for married households; however, extensive in-person/face-to-face contact for uninterrupted periods of time will be restricted, and no more than 1000 dollars in USD value may be transferred to the former partner into their own personal account/acquisition per week, although purchases made for the other party is allowed. Other relationships are acceptable within the designated platonic thresholds. Amour amiga! ^^'
So one night stands are good.

I've always been single, and always plan to be. Close friendships are where I find my companionship.

Deal.

I think it may actually be more fun to be single with $20M than be married, but I'd like a better definition of what "single" would entail in this hypothetical.

I'd rather live modestly with a partner than live luxuriously alone.

I'm married so my opinion is neither here nor there.

Still....this feels like a trap. I think this is one of those situations where the fantasy far exceeds the reality. It will certainly be fun for awhile but there's a reason even playboy millionaires usually have long-term partners at some point. I feel that after 5-10 years, people will be begging to turn in the rest of their money to reverse the deal. But they can't. The OP already possesses your soul.

If I want money that badly, I'll make it. The relationships I've had - and currently have, as I'm married - have been an invaluable part of my life. I'm not giving up my feelings and future experiences for a bigger house and better food.

I 100% get the turn down, but it's weird to me that so many people are commenting like they would be required to live a life of luxury/only spend the money on themselves if they took it.

Yes I would do it. Once the money is mine how could they enforce it? Where are the lines being drawn? The terms have to be explicitly spelled out for me to say no.

For example if it says I can't communicate with other people then the obvious answer is no. If it means no marriage then the answer is the answer is an easy yes. If it means no kids... I can live with that. And so on~

No deal. You can't put a price on love. I'd rather be poor and have the love of my life then be rich and be lonely. WHO AM I GOING TO SHARE MY WEALTH WITH?!

^ Oh yes. Donate some of my wealth to churches and charities. But still, no deal.
