Picked Suikoden even though I have yet to play it. Seems to have the most potential. Loved Trigger but that's a done deal.

Ogre Battle / Tactics Ogre is the only series of the four that could be brought back with most of the original devs. Matsuno and Yoshida still have a decent relationship with SE and a lot of the others still work at SE, specifically in Yoshi-P's division. Plus the already reunited once this decade for the PSP port.

I love Suikoden the most of all but there is zero possibility current Konami would make a decent entry. Maybe they could make a decent gacha.

As much as I love Breath of Fire and Chrono, I would have to go with Suikoden. It has an overarching story that needs a conclusion.

Ogre Battle. The rest are all standard JRPG fare, and the market is oversaturated with those already.

Definitely Lunar. Wait, you say that's not on the list?
Okay, Phantasy Star. Still not there?
Fine, Lufia. Seriously?! Come on!
Surely Shining Force is on the list, okay, now you're just messing with me.

I don't know which one should revive, but Chrono should never be brought back. Cross was a mistake. Don't get me wrong - it's a fine game, but CT is a game that was better without a sequel.

Suikoden without a doubt closely followed by Tactics Ogre (if that had been the choice)

Suikoden or Ogre. They're the only ones that really have a lot to expand on, or at least were designed previously as continuing entries in an overarching series. Chrono games were nice self contained stories that while I wouldn't be opposed, don't really feel the need to see more of if I have to choose. I supppose I have similar thoughts to Breath of Fire, which really only had tenuous links between games, though I would probably rather see another new independent story about a dragon hybrid on a journey than a time travel /alt universe story.

I feel like none of these would be a good revival.

Square-Enix just made several psuedo-sequels to the Chrono series and those were not encouraging. Not much faith that S-E can even make a good RPG anymore.

Suikoden has enough games IMO, I am somewhat satisfied. And unless they get back the original writer to write a Harmonia scenario I am not interested in returning to that world.

Breath of Fire... 5 was so different that it may as well have had nothing to do with the past games. I didn't like it at all and if they repeated this style that would just be a game I have no interest in. And 6 seemed like utter shit made by people who had had BoF described to them over the phone and then reskinned some existing phone game based on that description. If it was more like past games... well, maybe.

Ogre Battle I've never liked.

Despite loving three of these series I'm not really optimistic about a new one being good. So I choose none.

In this magical hypothetical where the game is incredible, Chrono I guess, but that's also the series that in reality needs a revival the least because it's barely a series as is and the team making it would be completely different.

All I want is Breath of Fire IV remastered. Antialias the fuck out of it. Render it in HD. Port it everywhere.

If it's a FFVII-style remake, then I'd say Chrono Trigger. I think it would lend itself very well to being brought to modern design standards. If it's a collection/remaster, I'd say Breath of Fire. I'd be nice to have all of the games readily available on as many systems possible.

I want Ogre Battle with a burning passion but don't think I could sacrifice Chrono or Suikoden for it. Can we just sacrifice Breath of Fire for the others?

I would choose Chrono but if I could choose a series not from the list it would be Shadow Hearts. I want this series to come back so badly.

Breath of Fire. Would love a sequel or another game like Dragon Quarter.

OR fucking Shadow Hearts, hell yeah!

Leave Chrono Trigger alone! It's perfect as it is. The last thing I want is for them to remake it like they did for Secret of Mana.

Would an Ogre revival mean Matsuno returns to making games? That's the right answer then.

Secret off menu choice is Lufia.

On the bright side, they're all the right answer because otherwise all of those series' are dead.

Chrono all the way.

...but I feel like this is unfair to the other games. This is like putting FDR or Obama (or I guess Reagan if you're conservative) in a list with a bunch of not quite as popular politicians and asking who you'd love to have back in the White House right now.

Since Golden Sun isn't on the list, you get nothing.

Suikoden for me. I loved Suikoden I-III. IV was difficult to get through with the constant battles on the sea and who could forget the run animation for protagonist lol. Suikoden V was good but took a long time to get going for me. I sure do miss the series. If it could come back and have the magic that the first three installments had, I'd be satisfied.

Not really a choice I'd want to make, but of those choices, I think a new Tactics Ogre game would be something to get me ridiculously excited.

Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time and I love Chrono Cross to death. If that franchise ever came back I would inevitably be disappointed by it.

For that reason I'll have to say Breath of Fire would be super cool to see come back. Dragon Quarter wasn't super well liked, but it was at least an interesting stab at a new concept. With Capcom bringing their A-game recently I'd love to see what they would bring to the table in a new Breath of Fire.

There's a lot that matters. Like do remakes and remasters count toward "never coming back?"

And my want for Chrono would be if the dream team returns to do it. Are we to assume the same devs come back?

You can probably just assume whichever scenario is the most ideal for any chosen franchise. (Which likely means "original devs are back" for them all, I suppose, haha.)

Suikoden. There's no RPG like it with a story of a grand war spanning multiple heros and countries. I know its story of "some dude gets swept into a war he has no business in" is so cliche. But Suikoden crafted it so well, it was so charming.

I love the original, but Chrono has already proven it doesn't deserve sequels. That franchise is dead.

Ogre Battle is my choice. It's been a while since we had one, but I'm ready!

I went with Breath of Fire.

I don't want modern Square-Enix anywhere near a Chrono game, and I love BOF lots. Replaying the first game right now on NSO.

I do love Suikoden, but I'm not as attached to it as I am Breath of Fire.

Chrono Trigger is very good and Cross is great, but they stand well on their own. I see no need for a sequel there.

Breath of Fire never grabbed me but it's a series I really should give another chance one of these days.

Ogre Battle is great but I'm fairly satisfied with where it is.

More Suikoden would be worth just about anything though. Like, I don't think you could come up with a list of three other series I wouldn't sacrifice to get that.
