Midgar, With Love
You can cast this spell once. Whichever of the four franchises you choose, the publisher and developer in question will suddenly want to create quality console entries again. Feel free to assume the best from this situation — even if you'd realistically be skeptical that the modern rights holders would produce something excellent, pretend that in this magical world of your choosing the output would be flawless.

The three franchises you do not select will never, ever, not in a million years, be revived in any meaningful capacity whatsoever.

Which franchise do you choose and why?

I'll personally smother every series myself for one whiff of a new Tactics Ogre game. It's not even a question.

I would personally drop kick the Chrono series

Just give me a Chrono Trigger Remake. I don't care about anything else on this list.

Suikoden and it's not even a contest. Chrono doesn't need another game, Breath of Fire doesn't need another game, and Ogre Battle is never coming back anyway.

Suikoden is the only one with a literally unfinished story staring at us, right where it needed to conclude.

Any potential future Chrono game won't be as good as Trigger because Trigger's the perfect JRPG. Even if it's flawless, it won't be the same.

But I have no faith in Capcom or Konami regardless of what the OP says, nor an affinity for Ogre Battle so I picked Chrono.

Chrono. I don't care about the others, but I would take a revival of Panzer Dragoon Saga or Skies of Arcadia over it.

Let them all stay gone. Any modern revival would surely just be disappointing.

... Okay, I'd take a Suikoden sequel.

I'd pick any but Breath of Fire to be honest, which was a lot more traditional of a game series, outside of Dragon Quarter. I don't feel like I'm missing much by not getting another one, while the other choices have more unique conceits or mechanics that aren't common these days.

I'm a sucker for recruting characters / army building and time travel stories so it's a hard choice between Suikoden and Chrono. Probably would give the slight edge to Suikoden.

That being said, if it were like Dragon Quarter, I might have to bump BoF's stock up a tad.

Out of all the options, I think I have to go with Suikoden, but Breath of Fire, assuming it will be something similar to the PS1 era titles, is so close that it might change from day to day based on what game I am most nostalgic for at that moment.

Suikoden probably has the most 'unrealized potential' as a long running series. the rest could have wound up being amazing or ... very much not (look at Breath of Fire 5 as a case example)

Its between Breath of Fire and Chrono series.

Considering how Chrono series ended up with Radical Dreamers and Cross - I've decided to go with Breath of Fire since there were more entries and I just love the first two games (3rd and 5th were okay, havent played the 4th yet).

Trying to decide between Suikoden and Ogre Battle.

I only played Tierkreis in the Suikoden series (it was ok, but I know fans aren't too fond of it) and never played an Ogre Battle game, but always had interest in them and I really like tactics RPG games.

Someone convince me to vote for one of these.

Suikoden had 5 games to get its shit together, not counting spinoffs. Enough is enough. Chrono needs its trilogy capped off.

Lightning for Smash
Chrono Trigger/Cross is perfect and doesn't need a remake/revival. Instead, let's all save BoF

Chrono. A modern remake would be so good.

But I'll take Legend of Dragoon over all these.

As much as I love the others... As a Matsuno fan I have to give it to Ogre Battle. It's not even my fave Matsuno game but he deserves it okay?

Suikoden. No question there.

There's so many unanswered questions. The Kingdom of Harmonia. The remaining of the 27 runes. From a lore, world-building perspective I would think this series definitely had the most potential.

No, like, Suikoden died RIGHT at the end of the series. They were building toward a final battle in Harmonia that we never got.

Chrono was not a trilogy. Cross is barely even a sequel to Trigger. They're just vaguely related games.

I'd love to see another Ogre Battle game.
Not much of a Suikoden guy, Breath of Fire got a game three years ago (lol), and I don't need another Chrono game because Chrono Trigger is perfect just the way it is and all I need to do is replay that game.

Probably none.

Only series I like is Chrono Trigger and it doesn't need a sequel. Besides, most likely would be an original game just using the Chrono name. Which is why I find the want for Chrono Break amusing.

If I had to pick. Would be Breath of Fire for the fans. Heard the last game was a mobile title that mainly just used the name.

Personally, I would pick Golden Sun to bring back. Forget Dark Dawn happen, it didn't need to re-try to do what the original did. (Slient protagonist, same start up with Issac kid, 2 parts, etc.)

It really depends on who's participating.
Suikoden without Murayama for example, eh.

So maybe chrono. Loved Cross so much. Never understood how it could stop there.
Thanks FF8 ? Or just Square...

Also screw you, I'm not sacrificing... !

What's been done to Breath of Fire must be undone. I vote BoF.

Although I expected Chrono and Tactics Ogre to lead the charts, it's nice to see some other BoF fans here.

I don't even know what a modern Chrono game would look like. The expectations would be all over the place.
