So lets say this hypothetical mom and pop store is for some reason uninformed at the price of this game and is a single business. Is it morally acceptable to purchase the game knowing full well the owner has no idea what it's worth?
Probably walk around the store and see if they have any good games for sale.
I never mentioned what I want or didn't want, I'm just curious to see what others think of situations like this.Isn't like available digitally already on Switch or Wii-U?
Why do you care about the owner being delusional about a retro game's sell through price, like lol why do you want them to jack up the price of a game you're interested in buying?
Do you /have/ to buy a physical version? what if you just want to play the game
morals lol just buy the game
What the fuck? Haunting Ground goes for that these days?imagine if Haunting Ground -- a game sold for like $100 these days -- was at my local shop for $10
i would buy the copy and say NOTHING, fuck you mean
The only answer.
Items have worth depending on rarity, you are getting something you can't get elsewhere authentically in physical form.Is telling them to overprice it really the morally correct option?
WhewProbably walk around the store and see if they have any good games for sale.
I'm a cop (retired) and say hell yes buy it, and hell no it's not morally unacceptable.
I mean even putting aside personal opinions on the whole idea of jacking up game prices and collector culture, from the store's perspective also, presumably they want to actually sell the item and they have an idea of what kinds of people come into their store, how often, how much they're willing to pay... Clearly they don't have a problem selling it for $20. Would putting it up for some ridiculous price really be beneficial to them in all cases?Items have worth depending on rarity, you are getting something you can't get elsewhere authentically in physical form.
Trading cards can go up into the hundreds and thousands despite being mere paper and pink.
Lowest price is like $70, its mad pricey because it's a low print game
