I mean, one of those not preclude the other so I'm not sure what your point is. 38% of D.C. residents work for the government. That doesn't include lobbying firms. So more than half of D.C. residents are involved in politics as a profession.ERA is the first place to tell you that DC is majority black, poor and disenfranchised but when a DC town hall is packed to the gills with DNC members and lobbyists suddenly the tune changes to "Oh well why are we surprised that people in DC are involved in politics?"
