It's awesome to see another Life is Strange lover so quickly! Such a unique and brilliant game.
I would include Switch games, but I guess it's in a generation of its own. Here's mine:

Listing them like this doesn't mean one is better than the other, but they all shared the same aspect that they left a lasting impression on me while also enjoying both their gameplay and aesthetic a lot. As someone who likes good art direction, this has been quite the generation.

Just curious: what is it about this generation that isn't clicking with you?
Not to backseat mod, but maybe everyone should list reasons why you liked those games. It looks like a list thread so far.
It should be noted that there are games in this generation that I would rate higher than some of the games on this list but are not here because of personal preferences, specific weighting, etc.

All really incredible games. Although, I feel like I may be suffering from recency bias as all of those games are in the last two years except for Bloodborne.
The runner up would definitely be Night in the Woods. I really wanted it to fit on my top 5, but I don't think I can remove any of the ones I've got up there.

That said, it's also interesting enough for me just seeing people's lists.

Alien: Isolation
Europa Universalis IV
The CRPG renaissance has been pretty fantastic to be fair. Some stellar AAA games as well that I haven't mentioned, e.g. Prey and Dying Light.

Rocket League should've made my list because there is no other game i play constantly, almost every day since 2015. But i had to give props to Monster Hunter World

Ohhh I got'cha. I thought you were implying you couldn't even come up with two more games that you thought were great haha.

All because of their multiplayer apart from FH3. FH3 is just an incredible racer, and the setting makes me all warm and fuzzy inside as an Aussie.

1. Bloodborne - My second favorite video game of all time. The atmosphere, gameplay, and lore are second to none.

3. DOOM - The best entry in the franchise and the best pure action game of this generation. Oh, it's also the best first person shooter ever made.
4. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Among the greatest 2D platformers in history. A huge step up from DKCR and Retro's second best game overall, bested only by Metroid Prime.
5. Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. A wonderful return to form for the series. Only REmake and Resident Evil 4 top it.
