I do enjoy the format, I really want to stress that, but it's kinda shitty they couldn't release a list of what cards can be used.

Yeah, I definitely understand and respect that frustration. It obviously doesn't affect me given the history I outlined in my last post, but I can understand that it's pretty crap for people that have big collections of what are functionally identical cards that they can't use in official speed duels because they don't have a watermark on them.

A whitelist definitely would've been a lot fairer and much less brazen a cash grab

That's the thing.

Regular players have been through this

First it was "OMG Sealed Play Format"
Then "OMG Draft Format!"
Now "OMG Physical Duel Links"

If the OCG is not supporting it, it's dead on arrival and won't stick

It's always an excuse the sell the "Old Nostalgic" cards that wouldn't sell a set any other way

I kinda have regret not buying a 3rd Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf. I bought mine at $3 a piece now they are 7 bucks a piece. They will go down again especially once the Savage Strike Special Edition comes out but man the hype is real.

Fj0823 If become Revolver end up defeating Lightning and Bohman, I might give Vrains a second chance. It appears that Queen and Sol Technologies will be the final bosses for the series.

As a lapsed Spellcaster fan, I decided to check the thread to see what was relevant. Now I find out IS have decided to advertise to me personally with a new Spellcounter archetype? This is too much. Thankfully, there's an updated Legacy of the Duelist port coming to Switch this year, so maybe getting to scratch my spellbook itch after so long will be enough. Otherwise, I may end up breaking my vow to Never give Konami money for paper ever again.

It's a freaking busted Spell Counter Deck.

Also a new card was recently revealed

Gematsu says Legacy of the Duelist - Link Evolution for Switch is out April 25 in Japan.

Here's hoping an English release date is close behind it. I skipped the game when it first came out, but I'll jump in day one on Switch.

So my "I'm gonna buy these Speed Duel starter decks for a bit of nostalgia and to have a YGO 'board game' to keep around for casual fun" has turned into "well I need to order a themed tin to keep my 'board game' in" and subsequently getting the 2017 or whatever it is tin with the two Yugis on it, to ordering the gameboard editions of the first two legacy collections and picking up ten or so Sisters of the Rose packs for some more nostalgia, to picking up half a dozen structure decks to have a "fuller", more modern 'board game' to go with the Speed Duels.

I haven't really been hanging out with card game peeps a lot lately so I haven't really gotten a chance to actually use most of that stuff, but I've been grinding a decent bit of Duel Links and having a lot of fun with so I'm happy to kind of have this stuff and maintain it with the occasional new structure deck purchase (and if they don't do more Speed Duel starters, maybe people will construct stuff of similar power and price for the new characters in the booster sets that I can just "make" from singles) to have it around for the possibility.

It's not going to be something like Magic which I also just got back into last year where I'll be involved enough to crack the packs from a bundle each set, turn up to the local store for drafts where I can, and maybe maintain a standard deck if I can run something as cheap as the current ultra-budget version of the five gates stuff, but it's a fun game that I'm hoping to be able to keep an immediate, casual pick up and play collection of

How is duel links btw? As someone who started playing Magic Arena to get his card fix I'd much rather be playing Yu Gi Oh but from what I've played of it or seemed very confusing in how to get cards with all the different currencies

It's a decent game but it isn't the best version of Yugioh. Duel Links made Vampires and Amazoness relevant.

I wonder if the new ghost girl would power creep the old ones considering that the majority of the old ghost girls are cheap compared to 2 years ago and only the WIND one remains to be released, maybe you can't chain her???.
