As opposed to Wii U and Wii emulators, which can make up for some of the console's shortcomings, I just don't really see a need for this personally. The best part of the Switch is the experience of playing the Switch.

Like, I said, this is just personally though.

Agreed. Maybe a few years down the line, when Nintendo's Switch successor comes out, we'll be able to sit down and enjoy OG switch games at a high resolution, though.

Of course, but I just believe that the portable/console hybrid nature of the Switch and the immediate, convenient access to local multiplayer with the Joy Con kind of override my desire to just play Switch games on my PC. I'm just saying, I don't see many benefits to this vs. emulating other hardware.

I never even play in handheld mode it's a feature i neither use nor wanted i just want to play Nintendo games on my TV like i always did and in the best possible quality so 4k/60fps if possible, if Nintendo doesn't want to give me that emulation will.

Holy shit! This is amazing! I'm getting a Switch on either October or November, but I'm glad to see they're making quick progress on an emulator for better graphical fidelity and preservation.

Not into the insulator scene... so instead of going and supporting a company and buying their system they do a work around to play their games on a pc? Is that how it works? Is this something done for other console makers also?

I'd avoid insulators and PCs. The objective is to get rid of heat.

Emulators are nearly as old as consoles themselves.

This article does a good job explaining why they're necessary (and they're legal).

You think emulators are some kind of grand conspiracy against Nintendo?

There are emulators either released or in the works for Any console that can be emulated by PCs.

Please can we NOT turn this into a thread about piracy, the legality of emulators, and so on? It's been discussed to death and only ends up in fights. If anyone has issues about piracy then feel free to create a separate thread.

Can we just use this thread to discuss Yuzu and how it's coming along.

Thanks

This is an old thread so it might have been forgotten, but just a reminder: We've let the piracy debate play out. It's time to get this thread back on the rails. If you'd like to discuss concerns about piracy, please bring it to another thread.

Very impressive progress! Especially if you look how long it took for Citra to run at decent speeds this already seems way ahead of that schedule!

Yuzu support for Super Mario Odyssey is also looking noticeably better (far from perfect though, but coming along in leaps and bounds) -

Wow aside from the audio-issues and the slowdowns this looks absolutely perfect! I may get my cake and eat it too! For the longest time I wondered if I should get Disgea 5 Complete on Switch or Steam, in the end I decided for the Switch version for the extra portability which means however I can't stream when my friends want to watch me playing since I have no capture-card, Yuzu might allow me that sooner than later it seems! :)

What I wanted to see more is the level of progress matching up with other open source emulators.

Yuzu as the lead, but I want Ryujinx to be just as up to par with Yuzu. That way, the code for C++ and C# can be understood enough to consider both the low-level and high-level interoperability.

Playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in 4K! The though enough to make me excited. There are many great games on Switch that have some performance issues. This is going to be a great journey
