I know it's going to be Ori but I would prefer something like Battletoads.

I already played Ori and I didn't enjoy it too much.

I kind of forgot about all the NES games. This would be cool for a Nintendo version.

Can Xbox gamers get something out of this or is Microsoft just going to keep porting exclusives to other platforms for nothing in return for their own consumers?
I think the best deal they could make: release Rare Replay on the Switch, but include the DK games Rare made in it, call it "Rare Replay +" (quick workshoped title, not final). And on the flipside, the DK games will become available to Xbone owners as Rare Replay DLC. MS finally gets DK, in a way.

It's not MCC yall. C'mon. That would never run on Switch. They are delaying Reach because they can't get it added in under one roof on Xbox One yet, remember.
I don't see why they wouldn't run. They're all 360 games at worst
Right but it wasn't stopped. It was something Ninja Theory was still allowed to do.
Has there been an instance of such thing happening in recent years? Honoring contracts like that seems more the norm than not

There is no "deal". MS just wants certain games on switch. They're already a switch publisher

If you've been following the development of the game, you'd understand. You're talking about 11 separate engines. They can't even get Reach into the Xbox One version right now. But it will run on Switch? Nah.

EDIT:

"This however has proved to be quite challenging as MCC was already close to memory limits running on the original Xbox One consoles," 343 said. "Bringing the entire progression and customization system into MCC also requires memory to be used to run the additional UE4 engine. Currently, a lot of progress has been made in getting it up and running, but the title still is not within memory constraints to properly run on the Xbox One. In order to flight on Xbox One, we need to be within these limits, otherwise instability will be an issue."

Eh Nintendo isn't doing that. That's not the type of deal this is.

These are strange times man, I dunno. I agree its rather unlikely but if companies keep playing ball with each other like this, something cool might blossom. A man can dream at the very least :P

I think its a mistake to see this nintendo-xbox thing as a "cooperation never before seen", as i see it reported on the internet. To nintendo, microsoft is just another third party publisher and that's it. Don't expect much.

Hot, huh. One of them is definitely Superhot but could the other be... Hotline Miami 3? Please!

Hot shadow drops you say...?! Hnnnngh.

If they drop Hollow Knight while I'm on vacation I'd be pretty pissed! But Ithinknthat chance is pretty low, isn't it?

They get the option to play the great games on a portable machine.

So what if they don't own a Switch? That's the point. Most people don't own multiple systems.

What exactly is it that Microsoft need to pay Xbox gamers for exactly?

They don't need to pay anything.

I asked a question: will Xbox gamers benefit from this deal? The subsequent dogpile doesn't seem to account for that.

Huh. Nothing in return? Microsoft is making money from these deals. You know that, right?

And Xbox gamers benefit from this how?

We played these games long before they hit Switch. Not sure why we'd need "something".

So Xbox can get some older games ported? I'm asking why this is a one way road in terms of content. I don't think it's strange question or an offensive one.

God I hate gamer entitlement so fucking much

This is needlessly hostile and toxic. Cool off.

The two games are "Hot"
Capital H.
It's Hotline Miami 1 and 2. Has to be.

This tweet was last month and look how overwhelming the response was for HLM. And I'm sure Devolver knew it would be before tweeting it out.

What's so hard to understand that Microsoft fans aren't getting anything from Nintendo? That's not how this always works. Microsoft is getting money.

How do Xbox gamers benefit from Ori NOT being on other systems?

Does it specifically have to be an Xbox One game? How much work would it take to port the Xbox 360 versions of the Banjo games?

I love this approach from Microsoft, gives me less incentive to pick up an Xbox and I get to maintain 2 consoles during a generation with access to more games since I don't think I'll be building a gaming PC any time soon, would much rather put that money somewhere other than gaming and those $400 I'd be spending on an Xbox could go to a few more games. Pretty cool stuff, MS is doing things right these past few years.

I hope it's Rare Replay rather than Ori since Microsoft refuses to put it (Replay) on PC.

HLM1/2 were the overwhelming winner but MWCXD and Serious Sam both also got a lot of requests it seems.
