I feel like if he wanted to do something non-Avengers it'd absolutely be Guardians of the Galaxy (Whedon's clearly still got a bunch of unfinished business with the space pirates/space assholes thing after Titan A.E./Alien Resurrection/Firefly) but those are pretty firmly held by James Gunn and not going to anyone else anytime soon.

Nothing planned that we know of, nor has he expressed any intention to do so, but I wouldn't rule it out. I think he'd be up for directing a smaller film though.

I'm thinking $2.1 billion at the minimum. $600m NA, $1B OS, and $500m China (indicating average legs which I don't expect for China given the amount of action in this movie) already gets us there. But it's way more likely Infinity War does 650 in North America.

No, he's done with Marvel Cinematic Universe for the foreseeable future, and that's okay. He took most of the weight of Marvel Studios on his shoulders for half a decade, but eventually Disney did the sensible thing and delegated.

I just noticed that this projection is WAY too conservative:

Infinity War is going far and beyond $600m DOM, $1B OS and $275m China. Some conservative numbers here:

$700m Dom
$1.1B OS
$350m China

So... $2.15 billions for The Avengers: Infinity War, so a profit of at the very least 875m for Infinity War, and that's a very conservative estimate. HOLY SHIT.
