There seems to be some awesome games on sale, but I would like to divert people's attention to Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun. It is easily one of the best stealth games available this gen, and is criminally underrated.

Stealth gameplay is accompanied by a great cast of characters, a brilliant story, and the classic feudal Japan setting. For those interested in any of the mentioned should at least check it out.

For those of you old-school people who played the Commandos series, should definitely consider it, as it plays almost the same except the controls are much better and the gameplay is much smoother.

- Fairy Fencer F Dark is not half bad JRPG from Neptunia team.
- Final Fantasy X/X-2 and XII ports are good
- Dark Cloud 2, Wild Arms 3, Arc the Lad (PS2 on PS4 one) and Rogue Galaxy are pretty good to great PS2 on PS4 JRPGs
- Valkyria Chronicles Remastered got a price drop to $20 and it's excellent
- Cosmic Star Heroine is pretty amazing JRPG style game
- Ys Origin is a Falcom Classic
- Tales of Berseria is a decent Tales Of game
- Final Fantasy VII and IX
- Star Ocean Till the End of Time

Plus Skyrim, Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Horizon Zero, Bloodborne, Final Fantasy XV, even Dragon Age Inquisition Complete are all better choices then the other two games you had listed.
I got all of this (outside of Arc the Lad, Rogue Galaxy, Wild Arms 3) and even platinumed most of them :)

I'm having doubt about Rogue Galaxy though, I remember being it a bit shallow on the story side during the PS2 era. How's Okage and Arc the Lad?

X. It's basically made by the same people who made 7 and 15. It's a lot like 7.

In general it's better than 12 too. 12 kind of sucks.
Put this opinion back in the dumpster where it belongs!

X is so overrated it kills me. Even 14 year old mean couldn't stand that linear nonsense. Run down a straight road for 2 hours fighting random battles. Such a great game.

FFXII is the best polygonal FF.

Final Fantasy XII or X? The only FF games I've played are VII and XV but I really enjoyed both.
I also enjoyed XV, and if I was going to recommend someone another FF game it would be X. It has a better story than XII and one of the fastest and fun turned based battle system. In comparison XII has one of the worst battle systems imo. I would say if you liked XV odds are you'll enjoy X too.

12 is overrated as hell. It plays itself and doesn't even have a story. Such a great game.

I got my eye on:

- I Am Setsuna
- Children of Zodiarcs
- Wild Arms 3

Are they good? Or should I drop something?
Personally, I loved I Am Setsuna. It basically plays exactly like Chrono Trigger but with a few small additions. The music is some of the best I've heard.

For some reason most people on this site seem to hate it. I thought it was great though. Up to you I guess.

Setsuna is a sure buy for me already, I was hoping it could get to 15 but it's probably the lowest it can get.

It runs like absolute garbage and makes the base game seem like a dream. Stay away.

So XCOM2 in PS4 still runs like crap even after all this time? :( Seems like my type of game too... in fact I already bought the base game in a sale once but haven't had the chance to play it and I am eyeing the War of the Chosen expansion since apparently it'll improve the base game in so many different ways? (adding extra timer for instance)

A no, then? :(

I took the plunge on The Surge and just played the first area. I'm digging it a lot more than I thought I would. Game runs at a solid 60 on PS4 pro -- Feels familiar as a Souls-like while also being enough different to feel fresh and have its own identity. Controls feel nice, combat is fun. Might be worth checking out if you like Souls games.

Has anybody played the Pillars of the Earth game? I love the novel. Just wondering if the game is any good.

Haven't read the book myself, neither have i completed the game yet. However, from what I have played, it's awesome. Think Telltale game but better in every way :D. It has great storyline, great characters & decisions actually matter. I am really enjoying my time with it. For 12$, it's a great deal imo

Any PS4 JRPG recommendations? Already did the Tales series, Persona, FF's, and a bunch of the PS2 on PS4. Whats a hidden gem that I've missed?
The Tenth Line is an indie turn-based RPG with platforming elements, and I've literally never seen anyone on this site even mention it. How's that for hidden gem? :)

It's on sale for like $4.50 until Friday. It's made by a solo developer. It has complicated yet rewarding systems, turn-based battles that require strategy and well-timed button presses, a good story, a sphere grid-esque leveling system, a Triple Triad-esque card game and other goodies. About 30 hours to do everything.

Yeah it was a huge step up from lords of the fallen

Also is the Skyrim special edition worthb biting on if I already have like 300 hours on 360?

Also, is Nioh online still active for new players? I do like to summon in Soulslike games a decent amount
FF12 and 10 are super different games. I really liked both of them when they came out, some (many) people either love or hate one or the other. 12 is more "serious" in its tone I'd say, and 10 is more colorful and linear. 10 is shorter and 12 can drag at times, if I remember correctly. Sorry if I'm not helping at all lol.

So I got battlefront II and...galactic assault sucks? It's the only mode with 40 player/side but so far games have mostly devolved into sniping contests. Not feeling it.

Its an issue with map design I feel. Its either sniping contest or chokepoint clusterfucks.

The original 2 games years ago were guilty of that at times too to be fair, but I found Battlefront 2 to be rather dull despite it being a step up from last go around.

I can't look through the whole list, but can anyone tell me if:

- RE7 Season Pass or the DLC in general in sale? Haven't bought any of it
- Ikaruga is on sale

All the game modes and maps are garbage

Enjoy

Anyway the MUA bundle has clunkier combat than I remembered and also bad some FPS drops but nothing major

Yeah, GA is extreeeemely hit-or-miss with the level design. Far too many of the engagements revolve around chokepoints with turret and grenade spam. I usually just play Blast for infantry combat, Heroes Vs Villains for Hero combat, and Starfighter Assault for Starfighter combat. The marriage of the elements just doesn't work with this sloppy/misguided battlefield design.

They're supposed to be introducing a Conquest-like mode in the coming months, so hopefully that isn't as bad.

Guys, ONRUSH is amazing. Think burnout takedown but fleshed out as an entire game. Anybody on the fence: get it. Add me if you wanna hit up some MP.

To expand a bit (writing a review soon lol) since I'm at the final bit of the game but have not beaten it. The story itself is pretty light hearted for much of the game, it tries to match its visual style of being jolly for much of it. It still has a bit of that good ol FF drama though, mostly towards the later half, but you get small hints that something is definitely going on.

The battles are... slow. It has a fast forward function though. Capturing monsters is simple enough. Party building is where things get complex since you need to make a team that works, but also can solve puzzles for some of the dungeons. Like needing a monster with an ability to melt ice ect. 100% of the time you have a monster that can do it though when it shows up in the game, just need to adjust the party to include it.

Overall a simple game... just slowly paced combat without fast forwarding/using weaknesses. Personally enjoying it alot, but have been going hard on horror and serious titles before this so that might explain it.

edit- can also fast forward cutscenes.
This sounds like something right up my alley then. Thanks for the mini review.

How does the Devil May Cry HD Collection look and perform on the PS4? I'm considering picking it up along with 4SE, but I've never played these games before. Should I rather wait for another sale on DmC?

Just picked up The American Dream (VR) and Dishonoured: DoO.

bro this game is gonna be dead in the coming months

I thought about grabbing BF2 for a second, but it seems like a waste at this point

Definitely worth picking up BF2, its a great game especially now that microtransaction are removed.

Nah in fact XII is overrated as of now people replaying it acting like it's so good but it's not that even you had to have a 2x, 4x speed to make the game playable lol and also the remaster had to change other stuff too to make the bad game better. While X remaster is simply improving textures etc. XII terrible all round and poor man's Star Wars

X was the JRPG equivalent of a corridor shooter.

Trash.

Are you interested in mods at all? That would be the best reason I could see for playing it again.
Well the PS4 version is the worst version for mods outside of the Switch.

I just kinda wanna replay it and it being in 1080p and 60fps with a ds4 and share would be nice. Not sure if it's 20 dollars nice though
