There are *at least* 63 million people either racist or okay with racism, which is just racist anyways. 63 million is a conservative estimate. Our country was legitimately built on the backs of slaves. Even if we set aside everything that he's done in office (which we really REALLY shouldn't), you don't get to say you're not racist when your vote goes to a man who began his campaign by calling Mexicans rapists, thinks the Central Park Five are guilty, and has a history of making racist, anti-semitic, anti-LGBT and other xenophobic remarks, including his entry into politics that began with him saying that the previous president wasn't born in America.
Those people are, at the very least, complicit in Trump's racism. They did not care about the people, be they PoC, trans, etc. who would inevitably end up getting hurt or even killed by his administration when they made their decision at the ballot box. They absolutely should be scorned for that and then some.
The same goes for anyone who voted for Doug Ford.

I don't care what those kids were saying, that doesn't grant anyone license to get physical with them simply because they're disgusted by what they're saying. There's a huge line between talking shit and becoming physical. I will always oppose anyone who does the former and be one the side of those who oppose it as well, until the moment they believe they have the right to infringe on one's person physically because it affronts their fragile sensibilities. The cheering on in these threads always disgusts me.

Genuine question, I notice in sexual harassment threads the slightest hints of victim blaming get an automatic ban. But in this thread, it's pretty much has gone unpunished, even though so many are implying it's his fault for getting assaulted because of what he's wearing. I also noticed in the xxxtentacionxxx thread, everyone was again at liberty to say it was his own fault for getting murdered due to the type of person he was. Is victim blaming just not allowed for people who are thought to be "one of us"? Or just not allowed for sexual assault, but ok for regular assault?
It's too bad that news site mentioned the "witness" and then went back and retracted that part of the story. It's impossible to really say much about it without the full story.

If the "witness" stuff isn't true, and the guy did it truly unprovoked and only because someone was wearing the hat then it's beyond ridiculous and totally unacceptable, kids or not, and he deserved to be fired and arrested. No one should be advocating for that sort of thing.

We have virtually no limit on "speech" in this country, what you see above is considered speech. We cannot stand by using our voices and reasoning with nazi's and those who would seek to leave them in power. You only fight speech with speech when you are on a level playing field and both parties agree the problem can be solved by speech and are willing to *listen*, this is not the case today. You do not reason with nazi's, you stomp them out before the fire gets too large. You don't reason with racists or else our racism problem would be a hell of a lot smaller if that worked. You agitate, you disrupt, you don't allow yourself to be ignored or set aside. They certainly aren't gonna come to the table in good faith waiting to have a civil conversation.
