because bits from each part of the said movies will play a role in this CANON Broly film

We already got the Broly bit and the Saiyain/Freeza bit, so now is the Gogeta bit?

Hmm. I can see it.

Bardock will definitely play some role in it, whether it's how Goku was raised or the legend of the super saiyan, and there will probably be a fusion to try and beat broly.

So the thing about Broly that always threw me off was the whole "legendary" Super Saiyan thing. I get it's the whole naturally born like that thing, but Goku transforming was already the legendary Super Saiyan! Why would there be a separate greenish one????

For Kale they said that it might be the "original state" of a Saiyan, so I imagine Broly in this movie's form will just be referred to as an ancient version of Super Saiyan.

the logic is that Broly was born the legendary super sayian the comes every millennia while goku and friends ascended to super sayian through training. The difference between them and the reasoning for Broly green tint is that Brolys ki is unlimited and constantly growing

"The Legendary Super Saiyan" is a singular title. Goku stopped being the Legendary Super Saiyan when Vegeta transformed to it. He just became "A Super Saiyan".

"The Legendary Super Saiyan" always referred to one and only one Saiyan. Beerus dreams of a Saiyan, a powerful Saiyan, and that isn't Goku. So the canon series has never explored the aspect of the 'Legendary Super Saiyan', they've only talked about the legend of it.

Thus, Broly.

Considering Bardock is now the canon legendary super sayian of old perhaps Broly will be Goku's half brother now, perhaps got flung forward in time when he was at his peak physical levels.

I always knew Yamcha was Broly.

If I didn't already view post-DBZ Dragon Ball media as their own continuities, as I almost systematically do whenever an author returns to tell a story long after having already concluded it, this could be the thing would push me into viewing newer Dragon Ball like that.

I don't like Broly, but I'm not even mad that they're doing this. I couldn't possibly be. I find it funny. This was so blatantly done for money-driven motivations as Toei knows that a canonized Broly would be a money-making machine. That's why they came up with She-Broly for Dragon Ball Super, which in turn is exactly why I find this to be so silly. I guess they finally wrote a big enough cheque to Toriyama that he accepted the real deal.

I'll watch it and likely enjoy it as just the dumb fun that it probably will be.

I believe that the episode is Canon to Heroes not to Z/Super. It was an episode to promote the game, and in the games Bardock is Lost in time or something like that.

Thats why I LOVE the Fighterz version of SS Bardock, because it's a "What if" he transformed during the Fighterz with Frieza

Episode Bardock wasn't created for Heroes. Toriyama was also involved in it and Toei included it on their timeline in the lead up to F, a timeline that excluded filler, GT and movies (outside of BoG).
Episode Bardock isn't related to Xeno Bardock in Heroes.

Oh man this'll be sweet! I think there'll be a better story and animation since it's canon now. Hell im only watching the English dub so the time will fly by! These last couple episodes have been filler but HILARIOUS!

Better yet, I was saying it was Broly all along. I made a tweet a while back where people claimed I was wrong so I ended up deleting it.

Wait, I just realized that the shitty Bardock movie completely nullifies the reason for Brolly existing (which was to provide a rationale for why there are so many super saiyans and why Broly is different from them).

Toriyama did it again.

Because it's a Dragon Ball Super movie? The title of the movie is "Dragon Ball Super: Broly".

They haven't given much in the way of plot details yet, but they did describe it as "dramatic" and a "space opera"

Remember how Shenron said that there was a saiyan that was so powerful that he was the original SSJ God? And that wasn't Brolly, and he would theoretically be weaker than him, and Goku and Vegeta are both beyond SSJG and goddamit Toriyama/Toei...
