No, these are 100% Disney dates. Sony sets their own date for Spider-Man.

So Disney/Marvel is doing 3 movies in 2021 not including Spider-Man, if Sony sticks with this 2 year release schedule. Or maybe there's a longer gap for the 3rd movie since they have to renew contracts and such. But it seems like a shoe-in for a July 2021 date, leaving a bigger franchise launch or major sequel like BP2 for November.

I think there is going to be one final iron man or captain america film. Whichever one doesnt bite the dust/retire in infinity war pt deux. I think something like death of captain america would deserve its own film

I'd swap Dr Strange and Eternals. Was told it's 2021 or 2022, although we'd probably see something of them in a different movie in 2020.

I thought that might be a bit soon for Eternals and it would make sense to get Strange in sooner rather than later but I've not read anything as to whether production has started in any form. How far along is Strange? Is there a script yet?

It's coming out next year.
Meaning if A4 is the last Avengers movie in a while.

Going by Feige's comments, it seems like we will have to wait a while before we get another big team-up movie. Feige has said they may do away with the concept of "Phases" post-A4, so it seems Marvel will focus on doing a lot of solo movies going forward before doing another team-up.

I think beyond 2020 they are going 4 a year, starting with an unlisted Spider Man 3 (technically Sony) in July 2021 and an unannounced film November 2022.

I've always found this stuff crazy, imagine if Sony came out with exact dates for their lineup of first party games for the next 4 years. Absolute insanity. Do these things ever get delayed?

For sure:
Guardians 3
Spidey 3
Black Widow
Strange 2
Panther 2

I wonder:
Cpt Marvel 2
Ant Man 3
Avengers 5

Would be rad:
X-Men
Fantastic Four
Thunderbolts
Deadpool/X-Force R-rated and connected somehow, lol

Yep, Phase 3 used to have an Inhumans movie, and Thor was a summer movie. Spider-Man came in and upset the order, then they killed the Inhumans off and snuck in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

I'm thinking:

May 1, 2020 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
July 31, 2020 - Black Widow
November 6, 2020 - Doctor Strange 2
February 12, 2021 - Black Panther 2
May 7, 2021 - Thor 4 (Assuming he's still alive)
November 5, 2021 - The Eternals
February 18, 2022 - Captain Marvel 2
May 6, 2022 - Spider-Man 3
July 29, 2022 - Ant-Man 3

Other Possibilities - Fantastic Four may show up in another movie and then get their own, same with the X-Men, Ms. Marvel appears first in Captain Marvel 2 and then she gets her own movie in 2023. Thor gets another one if he survives, honestly I would bet that he doesn't though. I'd also bet on going to 4 movies a year, big ones in spring, May, and November, and then a smaller Ant-Man sized one in July that will be fine doing about 500 mil.

I'd bet A4 will be the last Avengers film until they really build up an established and defined New Avengers

Just btw, those placeholder dates are DISNEY's dates, not Sony's, so Spiderman movies are not included.

One of those better be Thor 4 damn it.
Taika seems down, and Hemsworth is rejuvenated about his enthusiasm for the character.

I wanna see Taika's take on The Wreckers.

Assuming the Disney/Fox deal goes through I guarantee X-men and FF movies will be fast tracked. I think we will see one or more of them in 2020. They are already probably making plans with them. The question is do we get X-men first or a Wolverine movie.

May 1, 2020 - GOTG Vol 3
July 31, 2020 - Black Widow
November 6, 2020 - Doctor Strange 2
February 12, 2021 - Black Panther 2

Everything else is a crap shoot. Plus Sony can add a Spidey movie to their choosing and Marvel might push a film back or forward, also, the Fox deal is still not in stone and even then 2023 at best is when we'll get XMen.

Antman and the Wasp 2
Cap Marvel 2
Ms. Marvel
Enterals
A-Force
Thor Thor
Nova?
Thunderbolts?

I'm not too sure on any of them except GOTG frankly. I feel like there will be more new IPs in there and the sequels might be more spaced out. I'm confident the X-Men/FF aren't appearing for at least five years though given the deal won't even be done til next year, then they can actually begin development of the films, which will take years. They will already have their slate til 2022 set by that time anyway.

Because it depends on when Ryan Coogler wants to do it, and he's already prepping a different movie right now, so he's tied up til probably late 2019 at the earliest. Given he co-writes the films too, BP2 will take the bones of 2-3 years for him to do from start to finish. I can't see it before 2021.

There are sequels longer in the making that need to take up some of the earliest slots post-already announced movies or THEIR releases will come just way too long after their previous movies.

Either they up the number of movies per year or even movies like Black Panther 2 need to wait for their turn. I mean, it's not like there are many slots untaken prior to February 2021.

I think Sony will release Spider-man 3 in July 2021 or November 2022, and it's gonna be a sort of test to see if they can up it to four MCU movies a year.

I'll eat my hat if Homecoming 3/Far From Home 2 isn't July 2021.

Also, they're gonna plant something big on that Feb 2021 date, since Valentine's Day will be that Sunday and I think President's Day will be that Monday, which would be a recipe for a huge opening weekend. Black Panther 2 is the most likely scenario, the question is whether Coogler would want to come back to it that quickly (they'd probably want to start shooting end of next year to make that date comfortably).

These aren't Spider-Man related - that would be on Sony's slate.

There's a gap for a July movie in 2021. If the contract is renewed, that's likely when another Spider-Man will be released.

2020 is not happening.

I wouldn't be surprised to see X-men as the last movie in 2020. 2021 will for sure be loaded with these new properties. They had Force Awakens out 3 years after that purchase. I expect the same treatment, they are going to want all that new merchandising and tie in power ASAP. Anything after 2019 is probably already being refigured except GoTG 3 and Black Panther 2. I will not be one bit surprised if Eternals suddenly either quietly disappears or gets the Inhumans treatment.

GoTG 3 and Black Panther 2 I would say are the givens for 2020.

Edit: I didn't know Coogler was tied up through 2019. I would replace that with dr strange 2 and/or Black Widow then. I could see Black Widow being scrapped to fast track an X-men movie though.

They better hurry up and start releasing 4 per year. Right now they have so many plot threads and characters they "need" to update us on that three movies per year aren't enough.

In order to follow plots, I think it's easier to divide up the franchises in: science (Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man/Wasp, Spider-Man), magic (Thor, Doctor Strange), cosmic (GotG, Captain Marvel?), and morality (Captain America, Black Panther).

Iron Man has handed over to Spider-Man, Captain America has handed over to Black Panther and Thor has handed over to Doctor Strange. I'm guessing some sort of handover will happen between Guardians and Marvel (since Ronan is featured in both, among other things).

So going forward, Eternals would most likely be cosmic and could continue Marvel&Guardians. Black Widow could continue on the Iron Man&Captain America storylines and characters. To be honest, I trust Feige and the other guys in charge to make all new meaningful movies.
