They're setting the bar dangerously high comparing it to Fury Road.

Honestly, I'm not usually so dismissive, but while Fallout may serve as big and as impressive a spectacle as Fury Road, I doubt it'll be telling story through its action as effectively as Fury Road, which is ultimately why Fury Road is so shockingly good. So the qualitative comparison doesn't quite feel so apt.

Ghost Protocol is a fine movie so I am hyped. Cruise is the bonafide star and is still killing it after all these years. Cannot fking wait for this movie!

Fuck MI 2.

I'll have to watch Rogue Nation again, but Protocol is my favorite of the bunch.

I'm to watch 3,4,5 again before I see this.

I love how 3 was like a semi-soft reboot the franchise when JJ Abrams started producing the series with how they introduced Simon Pegg character and introduced a wife love interest for Ethan and also in terms of its style, as the action and pacing ramped up tremendously, it's really is like a mile a minute action franchise, that doesn't let up. MI 1 and 2 really are outliners in style, much slower paced and presented films like they are from different franchises.

I'm pretty sure Tom Cruise is going to jumpstart the space program so he can do an action scene on the surface of the moon for the sequel.

I just hope in this movie Ethan doesn't get disowned again and have to do everything on his own again, lol, seems to keep happening to him. I mean it's fine if it happens again but I swear I am gonna laugh if that is the case.

Really excited to see this.

'Best since Fury Road' comes from our main man Expendable - whose favourite MI is Ghotocol.

Dunno if I can trust that even tho i normally rock with expendables impressions. MI 1 shits all over that movie

But still I'm loving the hype behind this. More glowing than usual positive impressions on blockbusters so its gotta be dope

This impressions are hyping me the f up. 4 and 5 were already some of the better action movies of recent memory so for this to top them is some high praise. I was expecting it to be good but this level of praise I wasn't prepared for.

Rogue Nation has the opera scene, the motorcycle chase, Ethan having to hold his breath underwater. Lotta great uses of audio in the opera and underwater scenes.

I'd say it's the sequence where he dives into the torus and then we get those amazing long takes, which necessitated Tom Cruise train to hold his breath for 6.5 minutes. And then we go from that to one of the best bike chase scenes ever.

Rogue Nation is fucking awesome.

Actually thinking about it, best action movie since Fury Road wouldn't be too hard a bar to clear

Theres a few good ones like Logan, Black Panther, Rogue Nation, Last Jedi but McQuarrie is capable of overcoming some if not all of that if this has a better villain than last time and he upped the ante with the stunts even more

I loved Bleck Penta but the action was probably the weakest aspect.

Thank goodness. With the exception of one installment I love this franchise. Glad to see it's going out on a high note.

If David Ehrlich thinks it's god-tier I'm officially hyped. He's generally cautious on early hype, especially for Hollywood.

can't say i remember anything memorable about these
If you can't remember the 20 minute sequence involving the dive heist into car chase into motorcycle chase, that's a you problem, not a movie issue.

He thought Last Jedi was god tier.
I liked last jedi overall, despite its unevenness.
Let's not.

Agreed. Marvel in general I think has a big action scene issue. Civil War was the last one I felt to have truly weighty, well-staged action. Winter Soldier is probably still the pinnacle of Marvel action. Overall though, they're all weightless and incredibly fake feeling. The final train battle of Black Panther was exceptionally poor, from VFX to choreography.
