Abrams da gawdMan those were dark days back then when it seemed like Kurtzman/Orci we're involved in everything. I still don't get how Star Trek ended up being good

Oh no. :('Best since Fury Road' comes from our main man Expendable - whose favourite MI is Ghotocol.
They're setting the bar dangerously high comparing it to Fury Road.

There are two reviews on the previous page that make that claim. Two!'Best since Fury Road' comes from our main man Expendable - whose favourite MI is Ghotocol.

I think it's alright except for the stupid ending, but when someone puts it on a pedestal over Rogue Nation, I feel that what we look for in an action film aren't aligned.

Well RN is only like 2 years old...

rogue nation's most memorable stunt was what? that hanging on the airplane that happened early on in the film?
ghost protocol was that crazy ass jump outside the dubai burj
ghost protocol wins
can't say i remember anything memorable about theseopera scene, the motorcycle chase, Ethan having to hold his breath underwater
I'd say it's the sequence where he dives into the torus and then we get those amazing long takes, which necessitated Tom Cruise train to hold his breath for 6.5 minutes. And then we go from that to one of the best bike chase scenes ever.rogue nation's most memorable stunt was what? that hanging on the airplane that happened early on in the film?

Actually thinking about it, best action movie since Fury Road wouldn't be too hard a bar to clear
Theres a few good ones like Logan, Black Panther, Rogue Nation, Last Jedi but McQuarrie is capable of overcoming some if not all of that if this has a better villain than last time and he upped the ante with the stunts even more
I loved Bleck Penta but the action was probably the weakest aspect.

He thought Last Jedi was god tier.If David Ehrlich thinks it's god-tier I'm officially hyped. He's generally cautious on early hype, especially for Hollywood.
Scale wise sure, that Burj scene was just mind blowing. But as an overall sequence, there a lot of great ones in RN. The Opera scene is fantastic and well shot
If you can't remember the 20 minute sequence involving the dive heist into car chase into motorcycle chase, that's a you problem, not a movie issue.
Let's not.He thought Last Jedi was god tier.I liked last jedi overall, despite its unevenness.
Agreed. Marvel in general I think has a big action scene issue. Civil War was the last one I felt to have truly weighty, well-staged action. Winter Soldier is probably still the pinnacle of Marvel action. Overall though, they're all weightless and incredibly fake feeling. The final train battle of Black Panther was exceptionally poor, from VFX to choreography.I loved Bleck Penta but the action was probably the weakest aspect.
