They've done an outstanding job with de-aging in their movies. Gonna be pretty surreal to see them both young for the entire movie.

They still have some ways to go for fully digital characters. While rewatching Tron Legacy (one of the best movies in terms of visual spectacle), I realized just how much of an uncanny valley Jeff Bridges young doppelganger version exuded. The tech has seen major upgrades since then and the digital resurrection of Grand Moff Wilhuf Tarkin is proof. The only thing that needs to hit the spot are the isolated, subconscious and erratic facial twitches and head movement and the skin deformation that goes with them.

Can't wait for when we start bringing back dead actors. Digital Chris Farley in a new movie? Sign me up.

Spoilers from Ant Man and the Wasp that pertain to this information:

I think Marvel did a good job with Mike and Michelle with de-aging and making them look natural. I assume it will only be better in Captain Marvel.

Waiting to hear how Homecoming contradicts Agents of SHIELD like

People questioning this due to Tarkin in Rogue One: Lucasfilm used their own software for that movie, and it's years behind Marvel.
They were also working with limited archive footage of a dead actor and had to essentially model a CGI character from the ground up. That's entirely different than having a living actor perform scenes in real time to be de-aged in post-production.

I love it when this happens. The AoS stans that still pretend that show is canon are hilariously delusional.

You've tried this in a previous thread and it was just as factually incorrect as it is now.

There is absolutely no reason to childishly mock fans of the shows. Why say anything at all if your only intent is to mock and troll?

Young RDJr worked in Civil War because it was an in-universe virtual reality toy that Tony invented. It already looked great, but it helped excuse any shortcomings.

Guys, I googled it.

I think it's literally just that the 8 years later thing particularly contradicts the specific dates AoS gives, compared to just vaguely contradicting the timeline of the movies.

What a let down.

(Also, AoS is fine, at least what I saw of it. Only watched till like 1/2-3/4 through S2 as it aired and then just stopped watching for no real reason. Been meaning to pick it back up, and see Carter S2, sometime but it's been so long now and I can barely get myself to watch TV as is.

Gave me an appreciation for Kyle MacLachlan before I even watched Twin Peaks, at least.)

But the 8 years thing is an admitted mistake lol

I hope people are ready for more stuff like that to happen too. I mean, that confuses the films themselves, let alone the TV shows.

As the MCU grows, you'll see mistakes like that here and there. It's the nature of something like this. It's a problem in comics and it will be a problem in movies/TV.

But until the films do something like... recasting Daredevil or Mockingbird as if the TV shows aren't a thing, everything is fine.

They are on point with their CGI stuff, I have surprisingly few things to complain about and most of that is from the older movies. Maybe it's because we have stuff like DC and stuff like Tarkin as a contrast, I dunno.
