Region Map, Character art for new rival and 2 gym leaders, a new feature, and Team Rocket are some of the possible options. Early pre release news always revolves around those talking points. The new Pokemon is also a great possibility, I can see it being the movie 22 star, and thus them revealing it before the movie preview shows it next week.

Considering the Eevee in the new movie that comes out tomorrow (?) will evolve into a new Eeveelution and will therefore appear in the Let's Go games they will have to reveal it today.

If eevee evolved in the movie, we'd know about it by now due to advanced screenings

More specifically how quickly they're decrypted on launch day.

I'm trying to hedge my bets on whether preloading or not would be faster considering the speed of my internet connection.

Yes. For a game (and therefore any Pokémon introduced in it) to be part of a new Gen there needs to be a new region and story and a substantial amount of new Pokémon. Let's Go has one new Pokémon, no new region and a modified story based on Yellow. 0/3. Therefore not a new Gen and the one Pokémon introduced in it is still Gen VII.

Grinding went from wild battles to catching pokemon. That doesn't sound fun at all. Combine that with the limited amount of pokemon, this game won't last long for people.

Simple:

If this "new Pokemon" turned up in the gen 8 Pokedex after then starters then it'd be gen 8. If not then no.

Victini is Gen 5 but before Gen 5 starters so this isn't a fully consistent rule. But yeah it's probably true in this case.

Yea I'm hoping you don't need to grind much because catching pokemon to level up doesn't sound fun.
