This shit with Stormy is nothing new for the United States. It's ridiculously tame in comparison really. J Edgar Hoover was instrumental in running extensive criminal harrasment campaigns of countless people, from Black activists, anti-war organizations, and journalists, for decades. And that doesn't even include the McCarthyist witch hunts. He spent a long time engaging in psychological warfare to try and convince MLK to kill him self for God's sake. And Nixon used him as his point man to go after people on his enemies list.

If you're coming at it from the perspective that fixing immigration means building a wall, deporting all undocumented people and making sharp cuts to legal immigration on top of all that, then that's true!
I told him that if the DREAM Act was brought to the floor it would easily pass but Ryan and the most hardline rightwing won't let it be voted on, and also that Dems offered Trump wall funding for a DACA fix, but he said that wasn't a "real fix."
If you showed him a map with state borders how many states could he pick out? I would bet NY, CA, FL, and TX. That's it. Maybe Nevada too.
The mortgage is in the hands of other Trump associates... and this transaction occurred right before the feds seized his goods. This is going to be an innerestin' piece of that particular puzzle.

to be clear i'm like 95% sure i'm the "some people" being referenced here, except it was less skepticism and more "the parts that aren't in the giant east-side suburban hellscape are turning into more of a liberal & left-wing bastion"
(i've actually been past the club where this happened a few times and it's definitely part of the giant east-side suburban hellscape - everything within half a mile is a strip mall or corporate offices)

It's not at Easton. It's closer to Westerville but not there. It's in a kind of industrial area. Used to live at Easton.
I'm glad that it is finally becoming obvious to everyone that Trump and company got played hard.

the club in question is pretty much immediately south of Westerville on Cleveland (like a block away from 270), I passed it a few times when I had to meet with people at HDR a couple blocks away

That Corker and Flake, two guys who are not running for reelection, will still do nothing is just really baffling.

Oh, that makes total sense then. My uncle lived in Canal Winchester for years so we'd go down from Akron a few times a year and ended up in Westerville a lot. It's....it's a place alright.
