So I've been angsting about finding a job that will:
  1. Pay enough
  2. Have good benefits
  3. Accommodations for my disability
  4. Isn't mimium wage because I ant to eventually support the kids on my own.
So I put my resume (such that it was, considering I worked twice for a few month is 17 year's.

Walked in the door, company fell in love with me, and I start Dec 1 and there is free food and the other people were like 'dude it's like Google with less pay but less stress'

That seemed to me like a long source of stress for you, so congratulations!

I like the banners! I'm on dark theme, they hurt my eyes a bit. Could just be an issue with my eyes because of the background/font appearance coupled with dark theme.

DarkEra master race go~

I'm biased towards the light theme because I feel like I have to strain my eyes to read in the dark theme :P

Is one of these better? Any option in the middle makes the purple or the green too hard to read.

The darker one is less painful for me, for sure.

Dark theme is weird like that. If the text is too bright it's like accelerated eyestrain.

I like them both but I use dark theme as well and the latter looks just a little better with dark theme to me.

Dub? What dub? Man, that thing... they really did a great series dirty. I'm kind of a weirdo because I'm a huge fan of the anime, but I'm not usually a CLAMP fan at all. The manga is actually pretty short and the anime added a lot of extra things. Like, there are 19 cards in the manga and 52 in the anime. So, technically, there's a lot of filler, but it's well done. Personally, I prefer the anime because it's more fleshed out imo. You just spend more time with the characters to get to like them.
Oh, I didn't know it was that short! No harm (to my wallet) in trying both then. :)

Edit - I like the light banner. I'm on mobile using the dark theme.

WOOT! Congrats!

Both banners look cool but I think I like the light one better, if my opinion counts for anything in the matter. I went back to the OP to check them out and saw the Star Wars crawl gif, which I hadn't seen until now, and it's just amazing.

I like the darker banner too. Looks a little more ~mysterious~. But the purple text is harder to read on that one, so maybe that could be a bit lighter.

The original manga is 12 volumes. I don't know how long the new one will be. And the anime is on Crunchyroll, so it's easy to watch now! If anyone wants a guest pass for Premium, let me know.

Haha, don't feel pressured to listen to everyone's opinion!

Ladies, what's your opinion on The Witcher 3? I've been thinking about borrowing it from my brother, and I'm trying to set my expectations. I'm not a big Tolkien-style fantasy person (so like, Skyrim style), but that doesn't seem to be an issue for this game. I've heard that the combat is mediocre, which is fine unless I have to also fiddle with a million systems in order to deal with it. I'm more interested in the story and characters since I've heard good things. Opinions?

It's a well-told story about a guy who isn't very interesting but has the fortune to run into a plethora of interesting people. All of Geralt's dialog trees are a choice between gruff and more gruff.

I actually like the combat. It's not the star of the show, but it's fun and it services the game fine.

It's one of the best RPGs ever made. It's one of the most well written games and has fantastic characters. I'm not one for hyperbole either.

It's funny though, because I got 10 hours into it then dropped it for a whole year before I got back into it and it finally clicked for me, before then I was going on about how overrated it was, but then I realised what a total idiot I was once I played the game more.

I couldn't recommend it enough.

I've played through the game a few times and can honestly say it's one of the best RPGs in recent history.

Geralt is boring, but the people around him are interesting. The story develops in ways you may not expect depending on your choices. You may want to read the wiki on the events of the first two games and the books to catch up, and to get to know the cast of characters. It's not hard to pick up on who everyone is, the structure of the world, or why things happen the way they do, but a lot of the previous games and source material is referenced throughout the story. The side quests also reap valuable benefits, and some even impact how your playthrough unfolds.

Combat isn't too complex, but I like that. It feels very much like Dark Souls lite. You have "signs" aka magic, fast attacks, a crossbow, heavy attacks, parries, dodges, etc. it's not hard to pick up.

The game is gorgeous, too, so there's that.

Harro! Took me long enough to post here.

Post Hurricane María has not been kind to my skin and I had to go without my daily routine for two months. Only recently have I been able to recover and my skin was screaming for it. I was surviving off of only sun screen and face wipes to get by.

It's worth a try is the best answer I can give. Kind of Tolkienish, but not. The combat is mediocre but the controls are pretty good so you don't much notice. If you like a narrative focused, but sprawling adventure game with serviceable gameplay, go for it. That said...I did not like what I played of it.

Hey! And same. I actually, no. I did play quite a bit of the first Witcher game but then never back to it and then forgot I owned the second one. I think the same happened with the Mass Effect series. Now I'm too addicted to playing all the Atelier games to play anything else (except FFXIV).

I think the complaints about combat are a little overblown personally, considering there are often a lot of ways to take a monster out. Just know that you can't rely on one strategy for everything. The world is really fantastic, very "realistic" for a fantasy setting. The story and characters are the best part -- even the sidequests have pretty compelling stories behind them. The best thing about The Witcher games is that you can't really savescum them. The impact of your choices often doesn't make itself known until many hours after you make them, and they're not your usual Bioware-level "Save the orphans/kill the orphans and sell their bones" choices. Lots of grey areas.

I've only played Witcher 2 (and maybe ten or fifteen hours at that), and I put it on the easiest difficulty and had a good time. Witcher 3 should be good if people are saying it's better than 2 because 2 is pretty good hahaha

I never really played a game like that before and I fell in love with it. I'm on my 3rd playthrough and even read the books after getting into it. Geralt is alright but the characters he meets make the game. Also, play Gwent. I had so much fun with it!

I did the same thing. Played for several hours then put the game down for like 6 months. Started over again and it blew me away. I guess it just finally clicked for me.

Thanks for all The Witcher 3 opinions! I'll definitely be playing it, since I'm borrowing and don't even need to spend any money. I might wait until I'm less busy so I can really sink into it. I'm not too picky about battle systems, so probably I'll just throw it on easy and enjoy myself.

That's a great idea! I'll do that.

I think I'm going to take a break from Destiny 2 for a while :/ . Some of the players you meet there are total asses, and by that, I mean they don't leave you alone. Has anyone been playing Comrades FFXV? Is it fun?

It's pretty fun. I'm not a big multiplayer person, so I'll probably just go through the main campaign and check it again when they do updates. It's pretty buggy right now, so you might want to wait for it to be patched if you don't want the annoyance.

I see. I guess I'll catch myself up by playing Episode Gladio and Prompto while waiting for Ep. Ignis to come out then. Does Comrades fill in the "missing blanks" for the story?

I'm not too far yet, so I don't know everything it covers. It's not heavy on story (although there's been some cute character stuff), but it's set
during the ten year time skip. I don't know that there's too much to cover there, really.

I forgot about the multiplayer expansion for FFXV, I'll have to check it out. mainly for the avatar creator because that is a game in itself and I love them lol.
