It could have been an interesting way of distributing Exotics in Destiny 2 if they came up with fun and lengthy questlines for each and every Exotic in the game that told a backstory (lore) of sorts for each one. I mean given how they seemingly want everyone to have everything/not be left behind/have an equal chance, etc this seems a lot more rewarding and, well, fun than running a 1000+ borefests known as the Public Events.

The weapon quests are a start but I'm really looking for more daily/weekly activities that offer replayability with real rewards. Not one and dones.
If the Heroic Strike playlist doesn't have interesting modifiers AND specific loot then I don't think Bungie knows how to fix their game.

they should remove the generic non-planetary armor sets out of the loot pool.

Iron Banner Tokens when it comes to Armor should be exclusively only IB armor. No more generic non-planetary armor sets.

Same goes for Vanguard.

there is nothing worse than ranking up New Monarchy 30 packages and getting more generic armor pieces than actual New Monarchy armor pieces

Yo im sorry i haven't bee able to play with you yet. I haven't pulled together a team myself since saturday, i keep getting pulled into other people's (full) teams. Also since you are a raid master, have you ever done prestige trials? A melee teleports you lul

That happened in D1. Very strange.

And don't worry about it. Hopefully we can play tonight. I'll be on my Hunter though...ugh...

Destiny noob here who is really getting into the game. Any point in grinding from 290 to 305 if I plan on getting Curse of Osiris? I feel like my time might be better spent getting all 3 classes boosted to 290 rather than getting one maxed all the way.

Well, I got a pretty big friends list, made up of people I've met from LFG over the years. Some are amazing at Trials others are pros at raids. I'd say I'm decent at Trials but pretty much a (not trying to gloat) master at raids. I've done raids so many times where it's routine for me. I can hold my own in a sweaty match, but I need a good team. No way in hell I can carry people like others I know.

I had a guy from LFG the other day in my fire team complaining how hard Prestige was. I really wanted to tell him it that it isn't, but obviously that wouldn't have done any of us any favors. It is hard, but not ball crushingly impossible. You just gotta tighten up what you do and focus. People psych themselves out far too much and get into their own heads. They let the pressure and anxiety get to them.
same thing as WoW even though the raids are on a grander and frankly beyond understanding most of the time harder in terms of difficulty at least for the way i used to do them on a top 10 world raid team, i also used to have a shit load of alts in other guilds and would raid lead guilds through content for fun, bosses that usually take like 3 months to kill for casual guilds and a week or so for top guilds
what i learned over the last 7 or so years raiding at a really high level in that game was what you just said and what i try to tell people, thats why i compare the 2 games

i link people who are afraid of prestige raiding or hard mode raiding in this game a video of my guilds kill of like heroic ragnaros and then say yeah its like 10000000x easier than this lol and even that boss was at least fun to do and we had fun doing it, people are intimidated because they are afraid of failing and having someone yell at them in WoW which is common for more casual raid teams, especially PUGs but in this game it never happens in those groups from my experience, you just need to give people the little push so they see things differently, like swimming

thats why i like to sherpa stuff once i learned the content well enough, just like in that game

Failure is inevitable. Learning comes from failing. And through learning, you'll become more confident.

Going from 290 to 305 basically just entails doing the weekly milestones for "powerful gear", which isn't much of a time commitment. You're done with the real grind at that point.

You're at the point where getting your main to 305 would be even easier by playing on alts.

Once your first alt is ~290 you can do the exotic quests on that character. Take those weapons on your final alt and do the quests again You'll probably be over 300.
All those characters running milestones will push your LL up even faster.

I would say there is no point if you don't see yourself raiding or doing any other "endgame" activity. I'm not even sure how the extra 5 base levels (20->25) comes into play, probably need to hit 25 to equip Osiris gear or something. Play any alts you have yet to do so you get accustomed to all classes.

Do we know by now what is the new max level for Power Level with Curse of Osiris?
And if we will keep getting Bright Engrams when the level cap raises?

I must have missed the level being raised to 25. I remember hearing about the 335 level cap and that's it. Either way, I'm excited to see some new stuff tomorrow.

I'm curious if the level cap increase is to give everyone more upgrade points since they're adding new perk trees to all the subclasses. I can't see any other reason as to why they would raise the level cap.

Hmmm what's the best way for me to power level my way through a new character?

Edit: wait where are new perk trees confirmed at???

Public events without a doubt. Best strategy is to grind PEs up to the minimum level for each new world as you unlock them then rush through story missions. You are instantly bumped to 20 at the end of the campaign so you dont need to grind all the way there if you dont want to.

Planning my max PL solar Warlock build. Are there are good recommendations out there? Wings of Sacred Dawn seem like a fun novelty thing, while Sunbracers have decent? utility. Starfire Protocol seems cool but not sure how useful they are considering fusion grenades don't kill on attachment anymore.

Starfire Protocol works great at Calus encounter. Rifts for days

I would just run Transversive Steps if I was running Dawnblade, but the meta dictates that Dawnblade is wack. rip

Somewhere
Hey guys! Finishing my third character on PC. I'm at Io on the Fury mission. Anyone up to team up and finish the campaign? Happy to help you get up to Io as well, just tired of running these campaigns solo.

Reply and I'll DM my BNET stuff.

Finally got to play Trials with igordennis. Great run.

I told you I'm ass on my Hunter. But we still managed. Warlock or Titan, different story. Anyway, I owe you one Prestige run.

Wish I had been able to commit more time to Prestige Nightfall this week. Not sure if the solo is possible, but it would have been a good time trying. Didn't see a single solo video this week and only one or two people giving it any time so likely not possible.

Strike leaderboards of some kind would be rad.

Esoterickk (YouTuber that does a lot of solo NF videos) said prestige is possible but it'll be super tight and he probably isn't going to do it.

3 man normal clear of Prestige isn't very hard though, I think this NF is actually on the easy side, once you know what to do and where to do these things, it's very hard to mess up.

Sadly I don't think any of the dawnblade exotics are any good. Sunbracers is usable but just.. usable. You are probably better off sticking to Nezarec's Sin and a void weapon.

Im gonna have to pass on that lmao. I got 3 clears on prestige and they have all been awful. Did them only because some specific people in my clan needed it. cc: JohnOfMars TheChillyAcademic :morgan: . I had 2.6k hours in D1 and 20% of that was PVE for a reason. And thats not because I'm bad at it (see the pic), i just tend to stick to PVP :P

Offer is always there regardless.

I don't blame you though. Prestige has very little to offer for what you have to put in. For a lot of people (not you), because they don't want to do it (or would rather cheese it) they haven't developed the confidence or skill to just breeze through it. I play with other sherpas, like myself and people who do professional carries. Playing it so many times, it's become routine. Trials is basically the same for you and others that I know who do virtually nothing but PvP.

Over time you learn all of the little details and nuances that make the difference between a good player and a great one. At that point, you just develope good habits and smart play. As I said earlier, I'm a decent, at best, PvP player mainly because I don't put as much time in it as I should. I need to spend more time playing with great players to pick up on their habits. I played competitive shooters in the past. I totally understand the mindset behind being aggressive and having map presence. I just haven't bothered putting that much time into Destiny, despite playing Trials as much as I do. Unfortunately, a lot of my more PvP focused friends have taken a break from the game, so getting a solid Trials team is difficult.

Anyway, Calus challenge is tomorrow. I don't expect it to be too bad at all. I imagine you'll be forced to do multiple damage phases because all players will eventually have to play in dark zone and throne room. For a lot of teams, this will be a huge problem. I just don't understand why people have so many issues when it comes to killing Psions. Throne room is just about using grenades, power weapons and supers effectively. There are a lot of enemies, they spawn in waves, allowing you to me to take them out gradually.

Yesss Torrent Zero Hour Pyramidion, one of my top personal choices for Nightfall. Torrent anything is great, but I'm partial to Pyramidion. Hopefully they never bring back Exodous Crash hah.
