What's everyone listening to this morning? I'm letting Danny Brown's XXX and some Freddie Gibbs carry me throughout the day.

I haven't listened to Old yet though. Is it a must listen? Personally XXX is one of my favorite albums of all time and I enjoyed Atrocity Exhibition, I just never set time aside to listen to Old or The Hybrid.

And just giving Jaden's album another spin (primarily for the nice production):

I've looped midnight marauders for the past 3 days so that.

When was the last time we discussed our favourite artists?I can't recall that we have, and I'm curious to know some of yours.

Mine used to be Brotha Lynch Hung but has been replaced by Kodak Black. It feels weird to have such a young artist so early in his career claim that spot already, but the music Kodak makes is exactly how I'd want rap to sound if I could create it myself. It's as if I had been waiting on Kodak

What up, Hip-HopERA. Popped in to see what ya'll thought of that SYRE. I wanted to check it out 'cause I figured it'd be good but I was legit impressed, this shit fire. It's rare that I set decent expectations and see them surpassed by far like this.

Uhh, the production on this Jaden album is dope. Rapping is corny though. Reminds me of Because the Internet.

And that's part of why. BTI was one of the best albums of 2013.

See the last few pages and you'll the same reaction as yours a lot, lol.

BTI was one of my faves that year too. Always reminds me of that year's winter time.

Agree with this. Some of the rapping sounds super random and wordy. He is definitely going for more vibe than anything else but I think it works. I had no idea Lido did the beats.

This is kinda neat because I'm from here..

..but damn all these dudes are generic trap, para-Atlanta sounding dudes at best and don't make the greatest case for our city having a musical identity or even the influence that people like Drake and The Weeknd had. I guess they stayed away from any buzzing artists (i.e. Ramriddlz) outside of Jazz Cartier and stuck with the people still trying to break out, but that seems like a perspective that's missed and something they did cover in their other documentaries.

I like one of the Prime Boys joints, that's pretty much it out of all the music featured in this video. This Pressa dude looks like he's 12, dead @ his manager saying his single is wack too (it is). Kind of a bad look for Toronto in that regard, making it look like a poor man's ATL or Chicago.. SMH at this dude from CMDWN Collective saying people copied his clout glasses and then saying "dat way."

Also low key shots from Jazz Cartier to Tory Lanez about people leaving Toronto and then coming back to claim it
even though that's kind what Drake did too, to a much lesser degree
