Went to Best Buy this weekend and they had shelves of Switches just sitting there. Walmart also had a ton. This is in southern California btw. I thought there were major stock issues, but that doesn't seem to be the case where I live.
They've increased stock for the holidays. Seeing more on shelves is part of the plan to sell more.

Hi everyone.
Just got my switch and was wondering if digital games are cheaper or more expensive where you are.
I still don't understand why Japanese digital games are more expensive than if I went to the shop and bought a physical copy.

Same stuff here cause you can get retail copies for slightly cheaper depending on where you buy and any pre-release discount. Competition and stuff. Digital games are at normal price but they end up being more expensive.
That said in japan you're probably better off buying Nintendo games digitally on amazon.jp, they're usually cheaper than the japanese eshop. Won't help for small indies but still. I'm guessing you know that, but just in case.

Yeah I have been eyeing up amazon.
I wanted to get some physical copies of games as Christmas presents for my family, but at the same time I want to go digital as well for convenience.
I think some of the games come in a physical box with a download code inside, so maybe I'll go that path.
Thanks for your reply.

Slime-san is getting a 10 level demo this Thursday, for those who might be on the fence.

http://switchtactics.com/2017/11/20/slime-sans-demo-is-releasing-this-thursday/

YESSS thank you! I've come close to grabbing it a few times, excited to actually test drive it. Seems like it might scratch that Super Meat Boy type itch.

Just got an email stating that Tiny Metal was delayed until December 21st....My thanksgiving plans are shot lol

Man I was so excited about that game... did you see that drama that just went down about it? I wanna like it still but now I kinda feel dirty about supporting it...

EDIT: Link to the Kotaku write up for anyone who missed it. News broke on Resetera yesterday, basically shady business practices

Sometime within the past few months a small section of the plastic on the bottom right of my console has started to flex when touched.

Anyone else run into similar issues? My console stays docked a vast majority of the time. From what I've read it seems that the housing of the Switch doesn't nessecarily hold up well to the high temps of docked mode over time.

So any Canadians tried the South African store trick for digital purchases?

Does it actually work?

Jesus. All those games combined will probably last for your lifetime.

And we're just getting started with the switch.

I give up.

I managed to get a replacement pack for 2 glass screen protectors (I fucked up before) and manged to install both of the with no air bubbles at all after doing the shower trick but both times a hair managed to get in.

Sigh.

I just got a Switch and i put on the glass screen protector and everything is perfect except the goddamn top left corner won't stay down all the way.

Driving me nuts. At this point I might just say fuck it and take it off.

Did you use the tape hinge method? That's what I did and got a relatively good result with the exception of one or two tiny air bubbles. The first time I started to apply it I noticed a small hair, so I lifted it and used some tape to lightly tap it, then it came off fine without ruining the screen protector. Glad I did it alright because I had already wasted one, and not to mention all the things that've brushed against the screen like the dock since then.

I rather not get it off. Knowing me I will fuck up.

I won't use the dock at all instead of wasting more money.

So if you're in Europe and looking for a micro sd:
400gb
200gb
Oh shit, 400 GB is out now? Welp, that bodes well for sticking with just micro SD in the long run (and makes it all the more exasperating that the Vita had to go with proprietary storage... though it well could have been unable to support that high a size anyway just from Sony not bothering to be forward thinking or patching it in when relevant.)

So pretty shitty selection of demos on the eShop. No F2P games either. Boo.

I bought the system today but I won't be able to buy any games until I get paid on Friday.

Is there an upcoming games thread? I saw on my JPN account that Warriors Orochi is coming, or is already released?
When will it hit US/EUR?

I could criticise your financial management here, but instead I'll wholeheartedly recommend the Octopath demo if you're at all interested in the genre. It's short, yes - you may very well have tried and completed it already - but if not, give it a go. There's a reason people were raving about it while it was relevant.

Exactly. I have 14 month old twin boys and work full time, the Switch is my only gaming device (baring Hearthstone on my iPad) and I just spent £150 on Skyrim, Doom and Odyssey, to add to BoI, BotW, MK8 and Minecraft. I doubt I will get through with what I already have for a loooong time. I am just getting Indies (and Worms) for a while now.

I just got a Switch with Zelda yesterday as an early Christmas present :) I haven't played a Zelda game in years, I think the last one I played was OoT on the N64.....I'm only a little of the way into the game but so far I'm enjoying it more than pretty much any game I have played in recent years :)

Honestly I really didn't like the Wii and the Wii u was even worse for me, I had all but given up on Nintendo and I was on the fence about getting a Switch for months. Now I've had time to actually play one I am so glad that my family took it upon themselves to buy me it, It's easily the best Nintendo console I've played in years and it just feels so nice to be able to play true console style games on a handheld.

I actually have a flight from the UK to Houston coming up in a couple of weeks, So being able to play the Switch during the 10 hour or so flight will be awesome. I have a huge powerbank coming today that should allow me to be able to play zelda for basically the whole flight in between breaks when I am eating and sleeping.

Now I just need to grab some more games over the next few months, I haven't played a lot of Nintendo games in many years now, so it'll be really good to finally play them and remember why I enjoyed Nintendo games so much as a kid.

Man, I told myself when I bought the Switch that Mario Odyssey and Zelda were the only two games I wanted for the time being. Now I've purchased Snipperclips, I'm eyeballing another set of joycons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I really want Mario + Rabbids, and after reading through the other thread about the Splatoon 2 update, I now want that. I've barely started Zelda and I know that's a monster of a game and I haven't even finished Odyssey yet.

WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO

I bought a Switch a little over a week ago. I've burned through Odyssey (but have tons of endgame left), and have played about 2 hours of Zelda. I know both of those games should take until the end of the year and beyond if I want to fully explore them, but that Splatoon 2 update has my eyes, then there is Mario Kart, Xenoblade, and I've told myself I don't need to keep rebuying Skyrim but...

This system...

Are there any deals on Splatoon 2 for Black Friday?

I'm definitely picking up Zelda but I'm either going to get Mario+Rabbids or Splatoon 2 as my second game. I'd like something with fun co-op for my wife and I to play together. We already have Snipperclips and have played Overcooked and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime on PS4.

I bought the only Switch in my area - a Neon at that. I panicked realizing that they would be gone til after the holiday.

Splatoon 2 doesn't have local co-op.

Mario+Rabbids have local co-op, although you need to unlock the local multiplayer stages by playing through the single player campaign.

If you like puzzle co-op, you can take a look at Death Squared. If you like rhytm-based games, Super Beat Sports is great fun in 2-player co-op (specially the baseball game).

Putty Pals is a pure co-op game, and the game is better than its graphics. :-)

Here's the thread with all available local multiplayer games for Switch, BTW:

Playing Ittle Dew 2+ after finishing DOOM while waiting for my Skyrim copy to arrive. Too many games! D:

Great little game, honestly, I though it was a little bit on the easy side, but the main dungeons have some solid head-scratchers sometimes, especially if you don't have all the main items.

Just ordered a switch, should be getting here in a couple of days.
Can anyone tell me how the controller works, specially for multiplayer games? Does the pad split up and work as 2 controllers?
Would like to play mario kart on 4 players and looking for the best solution.

Thanks for the recommendations!

We had a ton of fun playing first Splatoon just passing the controller back and forth between matches and playing the campaign mode. There's a new campaign mode in this one right?

Best option for a Micro SD card off Amazon USA?

I was told they have a good 128GB one for less than $30 or so, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
