Wow, SR for DMC V are really low. I hope that Recommended is for 1080p/60fps. BTW. I am really not sure why some SR don't mention AMD GPUs or AMD hardware at all... wtf?

Also, for some reason i am really not excited about LiS 2 and that Launch trailer did nothing for me.

that fanatical bundle is pretty fantastic, even with all the repeats still has a bunch of stuff I legit wanted, neat.

What the fuck? Why is this more expensive than the console version, which is 69.98€? I mean the Deluxe Edition of course. Also the vanilla game here in Italy for console is 61€ from Gamestop, 53€ on Amazon...while Resident Evil 2 is a full price 71€ game, but for some reason the DMCV Deluxe, instead of being cheaper, is more expensive?

Finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
It's okay i guess?
It's an imrpovement over the last two at the very least.

The NPC's are still incredibly forgettable, the plot doesn't really go anywhere and the dialogue is pretty hammy at times, but at least the game has a consistent tone and idea going for it.
Gameplaywise it's very much more of the same, but in different proportions, more puzzling, less shooting.
I really enjoyed the challenge tombs, or most of them.

Having had all difficulty settings on hard, i appreciate what they were trying to do with Hard exploration, but you can tell that the game isn't designed around that setting.
While it works, roughly 90% of the time, you will find spots where it's virtually impossible to tell where you're supposed to jump to without trial and error.
This also goes into the topic of fall height, because the game is incredibly inconsistent about this, once i jumped onto a bridge 2 meters beneath me and died because the game wanted me to reach the bridge in a different way.

In any case, glad this reboot origin trilogy is finally over.

This game has caught my eye. I don't suppose anyone has played it and can give impressions? The store page doesn't actually have much info on how it plays.

I just added it to my acct yesterday, so I haven't had any time to play it yet. I do want to see if they learned something from Lords of the Fallen. I'll let you know what I think.
oh, tbf, i played it a bit on family share, against two bosses. it's vastly better than Lords of the Fallen, but i'm reading some stuff and i'm afraid that it could fizzle out/become irritating as the game goes on.

I'm not Nabs, but I finished it, or rather... hate-finished it. I hadnt hate-played a game in years.

Some of the design decisions in that game are truly baffling.
i should've added a too on nabs opinion. everyone is welcome to chime in.

what was the consensus on The Surge? i'd love your opinion on this, Nabs

I prefer it to Dark Souls but maybe that just means the genre isnt for me.

Pros: The setting, the combat I found more fun than dark souls as it is much faster and smoother.
Cons: Level design, very few different weapons/armors.

There is a demo so if you are interested just try it. That is what I did before I bought.

This reminds me of my hatred for Lords of the Fallen. I ended up deleting it during the lost brothers boss fight. I couldn't be bothered to finish it.

if you played enough to kill 2 bosses then you already know the game has zero sense of progression. The most cannon fodder of enemies in the first minute of the game will 2 shot you just like the most dangerous enemies at the end of the game. If you dont mind that, then I guess you might like it /shrug

The opening two hours of Shadow of the Tomb Raider feel like a carbon copy of these games I already played over a dozen times, down to the exact same camera angles.
Short flash forward opening, stealth tutorial section, combat tutorial section, climbing tutorial section, swimming tutorial section, exploring a secret temple, escape action setpiece.

I did not expect the third entry in a heavily Uncharted-inspired series to innovate much but this has to be one of the most uninspired game openings I ever played. On top of that the graphics aren't that impressice anymore and the animations are really rough and downright buggy sometimes. You would expect a AAA cinematic action game to get at least these points right.

I enjoyed Tomb Raider and Rise for what they were but maybe I'm just over these games now.

that...somewhat true. didn't bother me that much, as i didn't return to previous areas that much, but i can agree. my biggest problems was that
flying boss
, the hitbox of your character, or lack of i-frames bothered me. i ended up defeating it, but it reminded me of nioh, that thinks a high output of damage from an enemy means difficulty.

If anyone buys that Slayer bundle and don't really want The Paincreek Killings, Songbringer, The Mooseman, and/or The Lions Song season pass, I would buy them from ya :)

Since that mod for FF6 came out I've been waiting for it to go on sale. Feels like it used to go on sale all the time but not so much recently. Not during the Humble sale, the GMG Japanese game sales, or the current TGS Steam sale.

A question for people who have both DMC3 Special Edition and the DMC HD collection.
Which has, ultimately, the better version of DMC3? Does the one in the HD collection contain all they added for the Special Edition? And did they fix the controls, which I remember where not that great for DMC3SE?

Also, go out and buy Cross Code
