Art of Balance kicks tons of ass by the way, so pick it up if you haven't. Really fun, but simple co-op/competitive puzzle game. Well worth the low price!

Shin'en always delivers. Even though I already have it on 3DS, I bought the Switch version as soon as I could without waiting for impressions. You could argue that they've never released a bad game or port from their stable of original IP over the past 20 years. And yes, that includes Iridion 3D.

Got Super Butoden from Bandai Namco Latin America today and their SNES emulation is pretty great (beating Nintendo to it again just like on 3DS lol). It even has multiple scanline options just like Hamster's releases on top of different screen sizes and what not. It looks awesome.

Mega Man 11 is like a near perfect game for me right now. MM2 is my favorite game of all time, this is right up there with it!

Not really the best place to ask this but if anyone in EU has a spare Splatoon 2 Nintendo Online gear code I'd be glad to have it. I had a little mishap with mine (wrong region) and apparently they're region locked.

Finished Xenoblade 2 today. First ever JRPG Ive finished, never cared about JRPGs, never had any interest in JRPGs until I followed ERAs praise, caved in and bought the game. Very addictive and fun game. It has helped me get interested in other JRPGs like I bought DQ XI on Steam, very fun game and Im currently also playing FFVI on Steam, also a very fun and addictive game.

Also started Torna today, really like it.
Oh wow, congrats. As someone who loves XC2 and have been playing JRPGs since the SNES Era, I highly recommend Dragon Quest XI to everyone - new and old fans of the genre alike. Finished it yesterday (main + post game) and it's the best JRPG I've played in 20 years and might just be my favorite JRPG to date.

I mean I could wait to buy Mega Man 11 when I get paid on Tuesday, but there it was for 9.99 looking at me lol. I need to place my unit in a lock box past 5PM or I just by shit without thinking

Biggest mistake I ever made was linking my card to the eshop. I used to do it manually, gave me a buffer.

Now Im liable to shoot from the hip lol

Pretty much my thoughts exactly (though I started with NES JRPGs with Dragon Warrior 1). Dragon Quest is my favorite game series of all time and I'm having such a wonderful time with XI. Dragon Quest has always avoided so many of the pitfalls that have plagued JRPGs over the years. No teenage melodrama and no angst. Just heartfelt, fun, and emotional vignettes. Each new DQ is like revisiting an old friend. Part of DQ's success lies in its confidence in its own fundamentals -- something that Final Fantasy has never grasped.

Don't drink and browse the eShop. Ive waken up the next day with my bank account $50 lighter.

My main rule is only buy on sale. Its sucks because they come around slow or its like 15% bull. I just keep em on the wishlist. Patience is a virtue.

See I'm super smart I just buy eShop cards and then overbuy anyways

wait

shit

Those motherfuckers recalculate the gold points when games are on sale too.

Yah eShop sales for good games are really few n far between, I just scooped up Minit

I do the same damn thing.....and then run out of eshop credit anyway!

Nice. I only just made my way over there from Pittsburgh the last few years. I've been pretty impressed with the Mutter Museum, the Art Museum, and a few breweries too, Yards and some smaller one's. I've gone on the routine Cheesesteak hunt, and keep trying to find the gear around. Had my first Broccoli Rabe a year or so ago. Villa di Roma is amazing for meatball subs!!!

I've enjoyed the vibe there much more than Manhattan, which I hadn't been to either until a few years ago.

could you maybe finally 100% confirm if it has motion controls still in there, for those people who were asking about it?

I ended up buying it. I can finally confirm that it does not have motion controls. It doesn't matter as much as I thought. The game feels surprisingly same without them. But it would still be the best way to play so hope they will patch them in.

Hell yeah. I'm really dragging my feat finishing XC2 because I don't want it to be over. But at the same time a lot of other games are on hold because I don't want to dive into another jrpg (like Octopath) while I have still have this one. And of course I have Torna to get through as well, though I'll probably put another game in between that.

Great game, played it back on Wii. I thought it had great motion controls that were actually fun to use.

I assume the Switch version also has motion controls? If they are optional then that's the way to go.

I don't think they've made a bad game but some of them have been pretty average.

How does the 3DS version control?

Is it any good?

I'm still debating Towerfall, but I'm not sure if my kids or wife would actually play it with me.

If it easy to pick up for "non-gamers"?
Game is very easy to learn, very simple controls. But it's difficult to master!

It's a good party game and the co-op is really fun.

Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle

Sequel to Slayaway Camp but the twist is that they actually got the Friday the 13th license.

636259531.jpg

I like this aesthetic better.

Here's the thing, though. On Switch the game will be $19.99.

On mobile, where you can download the game right now, the game is free. It has IAP, but buying any IAP (as low as $1) removes ads. For $10 you can unlock almost everything, turning it into a premium game. All puzzles, all costumes and a weapon. The weapons are distributed via blind crate, but from what I can tell the weapons only affect the death animations. I don't know how much can be unlocked just by playing the game.

Just something to consider.

Thinking of buying either Mega Man 11 or DBFZ digitally after I finish Wandersong (lovely game btw). Looking to burn some points on DBFZ to not pay full price, but I'm only buying it to play online against my brother if he wants to play against me.

Mega Man 11 looks like a sweet return to form though. Wonder if people are gonna call it the Sonic Mania of 2018, though it's different to Mania in that it's developed by internal Capcom devs while Mania was made by Sonic fans and modders.

Seems like a total waste of money there on DBZF. At least wait for a sale.

I should have noted that I'm also interested in playing the single player content in DBFZ too, but my primary focus is on online play. Also I have a little more than 1000 points, so that cuts the price off to a little less than 50 bucks.
Imagine waiting for a sale and getting an even better discount with all of those coins you'll have saved up.

Or just get it if you want it.

Mega Man 11 is awesome. I'm not sure I love it as much as Sonic Mania, but it's a really great entry in the series.

Not really that great and I'm disappointed that it went on sale so soon after releasing. How much is the sale price? Because the sale price isn't visible if you already own the game.

On the whole the game is very underwhelming. The graphics are too small, no Tate mode. And really weak sound effects that have no meat to them.

Yeah, I assume he's talking about that game, which I bought, and immediately regretted. Static artwork for the backgrounds are shit, and enemy waves just seem plunked down. For being pimped as a big Chinese shooter I was expecting more. It's genuinely a waste of funds, almost at any price. I don't like being entirely negative, but there's nothing to be contented with here, especially after the long wait, and paying $13 for this pile...

I grabbed Undertale despite owning it on steam. I am already further than ever because of being able to hang out in the room with my wife and toddler while playing. I'm finally taking advantage of this beautiful system .

I really really like MM11, coming in as a hardcore Classic MM fan, since the 80s!

Granted this isn't super for everyone. At least the Casual and Newcomer modes make it so it is more for everyone... But I feel the joy of the game is hitting your head against the wall over and over until you see the patterns andyoure finally running through levels without even taking damage. Granted, the game doesn't have to be this with all the numerous options they give you to make the game eaiser, I don't know ow if an easy MM game is even fun...? Maybe?

This is definitely the first MM that could be finished by anyone and everyone. I just don't know if an easy mode MM game would be fun or not.

Try the demo at least!

Thanks for the impressions on Shikando. I was debating on it, as well.

I believe I still have one of those Splatoon 2 outfit codes that came out this week, if anyone wants it.

Even though I haven't put too much time into MM11, I'm enjoying it. I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of Mega Man but my favorite (and the one I remember playing the most) is MM2. 11 feels just like those days.

I actually haven't even downloaded it yet. lol But thanks to Discokuningas we now know for sure. I only play in handheld mode so for me personally the lack of motion controls isn't a big deal, but I can see why others would want them. Shin'en had great post-launch support for Fast RMX, so a future update to add in motion controls to Art of Balance isn't off the table.

I don't think they've made a bad game but some of them have been pretty average.

How does the 3DS version control?

I only played through the first set of levels and the endurance mode, but the stylus controls were excellent as expected. I've never tried motion controls with the other versions of the game, but I find it hard to imagine that they'd be superior to the stylus. The 3D effect is also sublime.

One of the most egregious examples of the Switch tax™ yet. I don't care how good the game might be. Hiking up the price that much is disgusting.

Other one bummed because I missed the 'Super Butoden' promotion.
And it will never come out separately. That sucks.

Though I have super butoden 2 on DS and the controls were horrid (worse than I remember) so I'm sure 1 doesn't age that well either. Still, you'd think they'd make some money just porting these over.

WAIT WHAT!??

Game Dev Story, Hot Springs Story, and Dungeon Village are 188MB each from Kairosoft?

I'm thinking, could it be texture upgrades? But that doesn't seem to make sense since everything in the games are all pixelated.

Got mine for subscribing to the Latin American's newsletter. Glad to see some new icons in my Switch.

However, I haven't played that much because EVERYTHING is in Japanese. Like, I knew the game itself was in japanese, but I didn't expect to see the extra menu in Japanese too. I'm not sure how you expect me to learn those combinations when I can't understand what are they supposed to do, Bandai Namco...
