Sony doesn't own the rights to Spider-Man for gaming.
But still Marvel Spider-Man is a Sony IP. Chances of it going multi are slim. It would need a different name, likely developer, and publisher. Sony started a WWS franchise basically with this game.

It wil be interesting to see the numbers in October between BLOPS 4 and RDR 2. Who will win October ?
Whatever happens I want Spider-Man and Astro Bot in PlayStation Allstars 2. Great mascots to add and get rid of some of those terrible characters like Fat Princess and Emmit. Those two had no reason to be called allstars.

I do have to give props to the X1X. There's certainly a segment of gamers who value having the best possible multiplatform experience and the One X provides that. Even if it's not beating the unit sales of the 1S it has still been a major win for Microsoft.
Labo isn't going to be a thing and that's ok. Not every idea catches on. Just seems to be a lot of ugliness surrounding it and people who were very invested in either its success or failure.

All we know is it's more (possibly double) the revenue of the last strongest launch of an DQ game, which is likely DQ9.
Do we know how it actually performed? i mean it outsold rise which launched on 1 platform as opposed to 3. doesnt exactly give us a good picture.
Glad for Spidey, great game, I haven't felt this strongly about a superhero game since when Arkham Asylum came out.
That's surprising considering NBA2K, FIFA, DQ11 all launched in the same month. I wonder if those yearly sports games took a dip compared to last year?

Considering that DQ9 was a $40 game, revenue isn't the best indicator in sales.
Sounds like it still sold more than DQ9.
Destiny 2 was a pretty big launch and the switch evergreens likely sold way more.
Madden also launched later in August last year so could have had a bigger impact last year for Sep.

If true, it means DQ11 performance is in line with DQ9 performance, with slight increase possibly attributed to adding PC as additional platform.
DQ9 did 132,000 units at $35 MSRP.
132,000 * $35 * 2 / $60 = 154,000
It's a good performance for DQ sent to die without any promotion in a packed month.
Wow. This is really good news. Wasn't expecting that. XBX1X is a really well made system.. Not forgetting FH4. Congrats to MS and PG games.
They game actually did pretty bad in UK, at least comparing with previous game. Rise was temporary exclusive, unlike Shadow being multiplat day one.
I think its been said 3 dozen times already but the best sku, not the best selling xbox. impressive none the less.

I remember when people thought Spider-Man would have trouble matching GOD OF WAR. He's only one of the most iconic superheroes of all time.

Called it. I said years ago that Spider-Man would be huge and sell faster than any other PS4 exclusive before it and some folks thought I was crazy. You only needed to step outside of gaming forums and see the kind of hype the first trailer generated among both casual gamers and non-gamers in the real world to know this.
For real. So few people in this industry look outside the bubble.

I won't get to play Horizon 4 anytime soon but I have no doubt of its quality considering the pedigree. And Spider-man was pure, unmitigated joy to fling around with.
