This show just feels soooo aimless, like what's even the point right now?

Every episode feels slapped together just to get them to the next week and there doesn't feel like there's some huge overarching story they're building too...it's terrible.

I don't know much about Fear, but doesn't it take place on the other coast?

I would assume whoever is making the switch is going to be a time skip in the future.

Then again, apparently we're getting a time skip that's being teased?

How is this even going to work?
Marking this as a spoiler just in case, though it's mostly speculation:

I wonder if Morgan leaves Rick's group during the main show's timeskip, and stumbles upon Fear's group after a skip ahead of their own. Then he brings them (or whoever's left of them, anyway) back to Alexandria, which ends Fear and integrates its cast into the main show for the next season.

I don't think there's really a reason to end Fear. In fact, I think the reason of the cross over is to try and lure some of the main series audience into watching the spin-off too. Rick, Carl and Daryl are too big of a character to move to the other series of course, while Carol is too small I think. Morgan, Michonne and Maggie were the perfect fit, tactical-wise, to get some sort of nice bump in the Fear watchers, without losing any in the main series. Since Morgan is the only character which is actually dead in the comics, they can do whatever they want with him, so that's why he's the one. Abraham also would've been nice, but I think they're moving the timeline up for Fear trying to make it closer to Walking Dead, just for convenience. Don't think they'll ever merge anyway. Not only that, I think we're close to see another spin-off getting released. AMC is all in for milking this stupid cow dry and dead.

As far as I can tell Fear isn't skipping ahead a lot so the Morgan we're going to get in Fear is an earlier version of what we have on TWD right? We didn't see Morgan for a few seasons after the pilot. Unless I missed some big news, Fear is still way behind TWD timeline wise.

About the only character development this show has ever had was people going back and forth between being a total pacifist to being a kill-em-all psycho.

Almost every character past and present has done that at some point.
Yeah and half the time they will leave characters in the background for half a season. Then they appear and you remember they existed for them to have some big "emotional" arc with some attempted character development. I never really fully understand some decisions that characters make. For example, Maggie taking on a leadership role when they made it to Alexandria never made sense to me. Not that she is incapable but it just seemed to happen out of nowhere. I dont know why the mayor of Alexandria was so adamant about her taking over or why exactly everyone just listened to Maggie at the Hilltop. However, it never really clicks. I havent been paying as close attention to this season like the others but so far I find it more entertaining than S6 and S7.

Rick, Carl, and I think Michonne came across Morgan in an episode back in season three. He was still in the same neighborhood (or just the same town, I don't remember) he was in during the pilot episode, and the only thing he mentioned happening during then and season three was his son dying. I don't think there's any way for them to do a crossover with Fear that involves him before the end of the current season of the main show, storywise.

so those trash people ... sounds like they're gonna save the saviors and hand over rick.

negan will try to negotiate for everyone to surrender or rick dies but then kills someone else - like a main character and some type of war part 2 happens or something idk lol just a guess on what i can see happening next.

I still can't believe Rick did that

I bet they're going to do some stupid fakeout shit next episode, like "IT WAS ALL ACCORDING TO HIS PLAN" and a bunch of people ambush them and save Rick

I really thought they brought Morales back because he was going to be the crossover character and we'd see how he ended up with the saviors. Knowing that's not the case makes his five minutes of screen time this season make even less sense to me.

I'm guessing the plan involves Rick assuming the trash people would capture him and try to hand him over to Negan.

So there are people waiting for that, watching if Rick gets taken anywhere or if Negan shows up at the trash people's awesome totally livable dump.

It'll have to be before the Season 3 Episode Clear because that's when he's batshit insane. Fear is in between those seasons right now. They can't do a story after TWD because the timeline is wrong.

The only way I see this going is for Fear to somehow catch up to the main show, maybe by a timeskip of some sort. I don't see them retconning Morgan's story when we already know pretty much everything he's done since Rick met him.

I don't really get timeskips in shows like this. People die all the time, but somehow no one ever dies during the period of time that's skipped. Characters in Fear make so many stupid fucking decisions that I'd expect every major character to die during a significant timeskip.

There wasn't a stupid gun fight which was a plus, rocket aside. New on the Walking Dead, she didn't have a hat on.

Rick just needed a rest after walking everywhere. I forgot the trash people talk funny, what's the point?

It was better than the first few episodes but they meander too much and drag it out for the next episode just when you want to see it play out, obviously the plan but you've got to give us something more in each episode. I think the season is certainly one of the worse so far, very sloppy.

Yeah Fear's going to have to if it's set right now. I guess that does free up story constraints.

As stupid as this episode was, at least it was one of the more enjoyable episodes.

I loved the Rocket Launcher moment. I really thought we were headed for them getting captured and being saved at the last, followed by a talk about how they all need to be smart in order to survive.

I'm now convinced that the show runners are trolling us with Carl. They're intentionally putting him in mind numbingly stupid situations. They have to be. I slumped back in my chair and faceplamed during that deer scene.

Why are the people on this show so goddamned stupid?

There's no other place to post it, so I'll just post in here:

Garret Dillahunt (Deadwood) and Jenna Elfman (Dharma and Greg) have joined the cast of Fear the Walking Dead S4 as series regulars. No word of what kind of characters they're playing. This is in addition to Ray McKinnon (Deadwood), who will presumably return as well.

Maggie Grace has also joined the cast of S4 as a series regular.

This season man, so bad. This latest episode in my opinion was the worst yet. It's just an aimless, corny, slog now. I even think the actors must be aware that it's a pile of crap it's that bad. It's a shame as well because last episode which was focused on Negan was actually alright in my opinion, but I think that's just because of Negan.

I mean the fight this latest episode with Rosita and that lady savior, the woman she was fighting delivered a corny one liner where they both stood still for ages, and then resumed fighting. I mean seriously, what is this, a Steven Seagal film? It's all just SO, so bad.

I will see this season out but if it doesn't dramatically improve by the end then I'm done with the show. I don't care that I've invested so much time in it, it's just laughable now really.

Wow, this is incredibly accurate.

I did, however, think that the "Rick loses it" arc in seasons 3-4 was well done, as was the Evil Rick arc in season 6.

So, uhh, I just finished season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead and it was far and beyond anything TWD has done for the past year or two. So good.
