I am glad Woolie is in the driver's seat because he makes better role-playing decision. Pat would 'min-max' everything.

I'm so ready for this LP. Will be an entertaining ride no matter how it goes. I can't remember though, does Woolie already know the big twist? I feel like I remember him mentioning that he does from a podcast email question.

Did anyone in here happen to upgrade "combat" heavy, and have her say something different? I must have went too stealth too, because I always heard that stupid line as well.

I doubt it. I mean, the stealth upgrades are basically necessary to get Seabass to baseline "functional" gameplay, whereas the combat upgrades are almost entirely superfluous.

They made some weird design decisions with some of those bits. Like, the sniper rifle is so good out of the box that you almost don't want to bother with upgrading it, but the pistol is so gob-smackingly poor by default that you practically have to fully upgrade it early on. The same with Stealth vs. Combat. They feel more like "unlock the way the game should play by default" upgrades until you're like 3/4ths of the way through the trees.

That's an interesting pull.

It's been so long since I've played KOTOR I don't even know if this is a good idea or not.
imo, it's the easiest to 'play' (not in terms of difficulty) of the Bioware games other than ME2.

it will really depend on how Woolie takes to it, I know he's been messing with it for a while.

I remember the basic progression of the game so I'm excited.

I just hope he doesn't go the route I went. Put all my points into stealth and explosions. It made for some hilarious moments of my stealing mines and replanting them at peoples feet - but my god every bossfight was a nightmare.

Edit: I may be misremembering how stats work.

Dammit, SBF, literally the same week I bought and started KOTOR on Xbox. I can't watch this!

George Lucas must be rolling in his grave over this terrible random name algorithm.

This could never give you gold like Kit Fisto and Darth Vader.

Same. I liked the game back in the day but I'm not sure how well it plays for an audience.I guess they'll get some mileage out of the moral choices/riffing off Star Wars at least.

About character creation: IMO the best way to play these types of RPGs is to not pick the generic fighter type (because it's usually the most boring gameplay wise) and to minimize combat stats in favour of things that actually give you more dialog/quest options etc. The combat in these types of games generally isn't hard enough that you actually need the points there.

The guy in your party in the beginning of KOTOR is like, the grandmaster of exposition.

Yeah, it is probably because of all that. I don't know anything about KOTOR too so don't really know what to expect, hoping it's a good LP, love that P&W combo.

Honestly, why does Kotor even offer gun skills? The game lets on that you're going to be a Jedi eventually in the fucking character creator, so shouldn't everyone just spec into melee for when they get their lightsaber?

Because it takes a while to get into being a Jedi, and you could probably use a blaster and a lightsaber at the same time anyway.

I guess. Still seems weird to me to put points into skills that will almost certainly become meaningless once I reach a certain point of the game.

That's the problem with Star Wars RPGs. Everyone wants to be a Jedi, but it's not like guns aren't a huge part of that universe so you have to accommodate both even if one should be 1000% better than the other.

Oh What!? The drought is over and we're being flooded right now. I can't even remember them even playing a mario platformer for a video before.

The story for Odessey isn't super long, id imagine this series being around 30 parts including some farting around.
