I believe you. That just hasn't been my experience in industries I've worked in. I either appreciate them more or about the same.

I still appreciate them but when you are cursed out by some of your heroes it kind of blunts the magic. I've gotten on the bad side of half the members of Crosby Stills Nash and Young lol

That said I imagine the gaming world is even worse as it doesn't have proper unions.

Watching the behind the scenes isn't quite the same as working it. When you pull 16 hour days for several weeks in a row the luster kind of wears off.
One of my closest friends works in the film industry, hearing his stories makes me damn glad I never got into that mess (I wanted to soooooo bad when I was a teenager).

I think I dropped animu (as in series, not feature films) after Ergo Proxy. So much navel gazing. It's been years since I found a show that I made me think "hey, this is right up my alley".

I'm cool with manga, tho. I still have Vagabond and Berserker in my backlog and I fear the day I grab the first book.
Keijo!!!!

My dad went behind my back and got me an interview with some executive at Blizzard because he thought that'd be something I want. I don't know how to feel about this. I've never thought about myself as a corporate girl, but maybe this is exactly the right direction for me right now? Idk

Get it champ, can only be good for you in the long run.

The mons pubis is one of nature's greatest artistic accomplishments, but animu needs to reign the fuck in its obsession with female bulges.

This scene still makes me bow. (And it made an Imagine Dragons' song tolerable.)

This goddamn show is too much, hotter-than-hot people in every damn scene. And doubly weird because many are supposed to be playing high school teens...and even though I'm fully aware they're all much older in real life, I dunno, my brain gets all funky.

But I don't have that problem with Mädchen Amick! Rawr.

Sigh. Hiding text instead of spoilering it. YOU MAKE ME SICK!
For some absurd reason the spoiler function doesn't work on my end. I can use the spoiler button on other people's posts and read spoiler tagged content, but whenever I try to use it it makes nothing on mine. The contents simply refuse to show up, no spoiler button, no text, no pictures, nothing.

Nintendo stans in this day and age see more sun than Microsoft, Sony and PC stans cause of:

Pokemon Go

Switch and 3DS portability

Nintendo is making its gamers go outside.

You gotta go out and buy Mario cereal just to unlock cheat codes.

What will they come up with next?

Hiroshi Yamauchi, former president of Nintendo once said that gamers who play Final Fantasy need sun, exercise and should go outside. He got a lot of flack for that but it was funny as fuck and makes me wonder if this is part of why Nintendo has focused on portability and motion controls to get out of shape gamers moving again.

They are trying to extend the life span of its gamers so they can continue getting as much money from us as possible until we die.

They make family games so that the whole family will get addicted and splurge money on Nintendo. That's the real tactic behind getting families involved.

Real fucking slick Nintendo. I now see why you're the richest company in Japan.

Nintendo is like a pimp, pimping the whole family out.

Microsoft is like an absentee father.

Sony is a control freak parent that won't let you out the house thats why they won't allow crossplay.

EA , Ubisoft and Activision are prostitute gold diggers nickle and diming players out of everything we got.

Yeah but you realize Nintendo is for babies, right? Waaaah. Waaaah. I'm five years old and I want the Mario cereal mommy. Waaaah. It's gonna make me grow up big and strong. Cereal is so healfy mommy.

Did you do your ab workout for the day too?

By which I mean flexing your stomach towards your mouth and leaning forward to take a bite between breaks. Man, yer livin' the life.

sabrina -- That's pretty sweet of your dad to do that for you. Whatever your decision may be on the job in question, just know you've got an awesome father.

Also, I really want those Streets Of Rage T-shirts posted earlier... but I'm trying to stop buying nerd wear! >.<

Thank you! Yeah... for all of his faults he gets a lot of things right. Last night, for example, he only got two hours of sleep because he had to wake up early to drive my brother to LA so he could act in a Febreeze commercial haha.

You're welcome. =)

Man, that last sentence though... only in LA, right?? hahaha

That's crazy. I wish my dad had given me that kind of support when I wanted to follow my dreams of being an artist.

"Son, you should probably go into computers."

"What... what do you mean by that?"

"Just do something with computers."

"Umm... okay. You couldn't pay me enough to be a coder, though."

-.-;

My dad is a lying drunk that beat my mom, cheated on her often, neglected my sis and I, and left when I was three. He's a peach.

My mom is rad though.

I'm sorry to hear that. Sounds like the grandfather (on my mom's side) that I thankfully never met. Pretty much the same deal (minus the cheating part), but he died when I was about two or three years old.
My mom's dad was a grumpy goat but he was pretty much the dad I needed, did a damn good job of looking after us. I miss that dude.

I never met my dad's parents. His mom was dead before I was born and he wouldn't let us meet his dad, who died shortly after I turned two. I've heard enough from other relatives to know he was a pretty chill fella.

My dad's father was the salt of the earth, give you the shirt off his back type. Similar situation though as he also died when I was very very young so I didn't really get to know him. He apparently got bullied a lot while growing up (much like I did as a kid), but turned out to be a real outdoors-man and affable fellow regardless of what he was put through. I'm fortunate enough to have experienced the better parts of his life through old photographs and recalled memories from my father. My dad's mother on the other hand... judgemental (racist) contrarian would be too kind a phrase to describe her, at least that's what I've been told. Locked herself away in misery and isolation for years before passing on, never once gave a damn about her grandchildren.

It's nice you have great memories of your grandfather (on your mom's side) though; I was always jealous as a kid of others who seemed to have a full loving family stretching back to even having great-grandparents still amongst the living.

I got into a weird, euphoric mental state last Sunday and ended up messaging a girl on facebook that I went to high school with but hadn't ever been close with or even talked to in probably five years. I've always thought she seemed cool, but normally I'd never have the balls to just approach someone out of the blue like this. I'm glad I did though, we got coffee today and ended up talking for a couple hours. Not even romantically interested, she's just a cool person. It's amazing how much less pressure I put on myself just by not considering it a date.
Also went to a get-together at a co-workers house last night. Got a ride with another friend from work and his wife, they're such nice people and I'm so happy they're in my life. We don't get to hang out a lot, but he's by far the person I'm closest to at work. He has an awesome dog too. We ended up playing Rock Band at the dudes house until like 1 in the morning, I had a great time.
Feeling really happy and grateful, this has been a fantastic start to the weekend.

Edit: But there's a lot of cognitive dissonance when I log on to Twitter and seeing our country going to shit even more than usual

2 is the worst. Followed by 13 and 15, whichever way you'd like to arrange them.

I haven't played 3,4 or 5 and only briefly with 6 and Tactics. Screw MMO's.
