Yeah they were supposed to show off new armor and weapons in a PvP settingWhat were they due to talk about in the cancelled stream? Was it the new loot?
Are we all just going in blind in that respect now or did the info get revealed in some other way and I've just missed it?
Do people actually read non US ign stuff? Maybe besides UK and AUS. Idk this is probably really dumb but ign India? And the dude didn't even play the game? Some of those points may seem fair but 5 reasons why articles are just vomit
Anyways, not long until we can play now.
I'm pretty excited to explore a new planet if honest. I've watched nothing so I'm going in Dark.
I don't think they released it at all, cause it was very bad timing with all the negativity. What were they due to talk about in the cancelled stream? Was it the new loot?

Started playing the PC version a couple of days ago, I'm right in saying that the shader system is still rubbish right?
I have all these nice shaders, Dawn & Dusk being a personal fav, but I don't want to use them on my gear because I know I'll have to eventually scarp said gear
So anything we should do before the expansion comes out in game? Will anything be no longer obtainable for example? Aside from maybe bright dust purchases.
Besides exotic emotes you are all good. All the old raid/trials/ib/fr gear is staying in the pool but you will just be able to grind out ornaments for them to change looks.
You never have to scrap gear. Keep your favourite legendaries relevant with infusion.Started playing the PC version a couple of days ago, I'm right in saying that the shader system is still rubbish right?

That IGN article is trash - "Mercury patrol area has probably been sitting there since D1"? Surely this shit isn't by a staff writer.
Doesn't D2 use a new engine though? No doubt loads of concept work was done for Mercury in D1, but I don't think they had a zone all ready to drop into D2.Article is trash but Mercury was scrapped from Destiny 1, that is known.

IGN themselves has 3 articles with actual impressions of the DLC though that isn't as negative as the IGN India article (although yeah, they don't read as massively positive and hype building either). For instance the IGN guy who actually played it liked the new crucible maps.I mean the general consensus seems to be pretty on par with that ign article from most streamers and journalists so Idk why that ign article is getting attacked. If it was an outlier sure but I'm setting my expectations to be pretty much dark below, if not worse. I haven't read a single preview that's been posotive about it.
The other articles are a nicer way of saying more or less what that article said, sprinkled in with some things they actually liked. I just don't see what the big deal is over it I guess.IGN themselves has 3 articles with actual impressions of the DLC though that isn't as negative as the IGN India article (although yeah, they don't read as massively positive and hype building either). IGN India's article makes statements about content no one has seen and presents it as fact multiple times which is why I find it a bit trash. The other articles are a nicer way of saying more or less what that article said, sprinkled in with some things they actually liked. Mercury, the centerpiece to the Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris expansion, is going to be your newest destination. However, there may not be that much to investigate. The scope of the area we were allowed to play felt much smaller than any of the other locations I've seen. We're told branches will open up if you begin a Public Event or quest, but those moments are supposedly only tied to specific instances. I wish I could give you a better impression of the area, but because it was so small and only has one new Public Event and one Lost Sector (which I hadn't found), I was left feeling like the space was fairly light on activities. That openness is supposed to happen after the campaign, but that's when our demo ended. With that in mind, here's what I can talk about.
Notice how he lists all the things we know are in, including the adventures which we haven't seen, and then just trashed them without knowing what they are or what areas are opened up by them?Again, you don't need a huge play space or something that's complete brand new to make something fun. Look at games like Yakuza which can reuse the same cityscape but do so with interesting little twists, new quests, etc. What does Curse of Osiris have to populate its spiffy new zone? Well...
[. . .]
Check it – you get a couple of high value targets roaming around, the "biggest" Public Event that Bungie has ever created and one known Lost Sector. That's not including the weapon forging quests (which equate to "go collect this material from doing the same stuff you always do"), the two story missions were are re-fashioned as Strikes, Adventures and the raid lair. This basically equates to one dungeon out in the world, a timed event which sees you going back and forth on man-cannons and dunking orbs and the same reskinned enemies you've killed in the wild umpteen times.
I think they said they're going to reveal it after launch, but I'd guess it'll be open by the end of next week at the latest. Perhaps this coming Friday or next reset.Tomorrow will be interesting for sure. Are the raid lairs open right away or did they delay it a week or so?

Yes, notes will go live with the update
Please don't touch pulse grenades, that's the only thing titans are good for.
Didn't play Destiny 1.
Looking at the Destiny wikis, there's mention of "Year 1" and "Year 3" versions of weapons.
What's up with that? Did the Year 1 versions get deleted out of the game at some point, and make a comeback in Year 3?
Titans have some utilitly above that, but I love (double) pulse grenades. They are a bit broken though - I wonder how many stacks on the dogs you'd need to just be able to throw those two grenades and do nothing else? Not much more than 36 I wouldn't think. Please don't touch pulse grenades, that's the only thing titans are good for.
As a squishy Hunter, I could not disagree more :)
As a side note, when do we typically learn what buffs/de-buffs are coming? Before release, with patch notes or discovered later on?
No, Year 1 guns meant Year 1 power levels. For example, Fatebringer. It was brought back to Year 3 level with Age of Triumph.
Guns weren't "deleted" but they were phased out of loot pools. Guns like Shadow Price which also came back with Age of Triumph.
Year 3 guns also had different perks afaik that you couldn't get on Year 1. For example, the Year 1 Matador 64 which could be re-rolled something nasty, and the Year 3 Matador 64 which was brought back.
I'm confused. So the Y1 weapons didn't get the infusion mechanic? That seems strange. So when the Taken King launched it increased the level cap to 40 and the power level to 320 (later 335 w/ the April update). They also introduced the infusion mechanic so tons of 'vanilla' weapons and armour were kind of left behind. Particularly VoG, HoW and many other weapons were left behind.
With the launch of Age of Triumph almost everything was brought up to 400 LL (a few early vanilla weapons and exotics didn't make the jump though). We also had a bunch of 'new' adept versions of the raid weapons.
Typically? They usually go over some changes in a stream... like the infamous(?) "we dont know how to fix firebolts, sorry" quote lul
But it sounds like we all get to find out when they drop patch notes to comb over.
