The mysterious suicide of Jacintha Saldanha.

The conspiracy states that this woman, who had no prior history of mental illness, was a generally happy mother of two who simply fell for a dumb prank, didn't actually take her own life but was killed by the British secret service for the embarrassment this prank inflicted on the Royals.

I won't say that I believe it anymore, but the circumstances of this whole account are just so friggin' suspicious.

Also, Princess Diana's death.

The problem with that theory is that the royal family has been humiliated and embaressed far more times and far worse than one prank call which didn't even get played in the UK. If they were going to assassinate people who embaressed the royal family then Prince Andrew would be gone years ago - he starred in Its A Knockout!

I remember believing OJ legit didn't do it. Drug dealers killed Nicole and Ron, Fuhrman planted blood evidence and set OJ up.

I was only talking about 7 (which wasn't hit by a plane) because fire is the reason given for its collapse.

The primary reason, not the sole reason. From the current copy of the Wikipedia page:

On September 11, 2001, 7 WTC was damaged by debris when the nearby North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. The debris also ignited fires, which continued to burn throughout the afternoon on lower floors of the building. The building's internal fire suppression system lacked water pressure to fight the fires, and the building collapsed completely at 5:21:10 pm, according to FEMA,while the 2008 NIST study placed the final collapse time at 5:20:52 pm. The collapse began when a critical internal column buckled and triggered structural failure throughout, which was first visible from the exterior with the crumbling of a rooftop penthouse structure at 5:20:33 pm. The collapse made the old 7 World Trade Center the first tall building known to have collapsed primarily due to uncontrolled fires, and the only steel skyscraper in the world to have collapsed due to fire.

I dont get the moon landing one. Didnt they make multiple trips? They faked all of them and the american flag thats still there?

And if it was fake wouldnt russia be the first ones to blow the lid and not some random american blogs?

Yes and it's the main reason why the fake moon landing conspiracy is bullshit, since 60s America was teeming with Soviet spies at that time, not a chance in hell they wouldn't have got rumbled and exposed (which would have been a huge boon for the Russians)

9/11 inside jobs. Given the b.s. the US has pulled all around the world, is not that hard to believe.

Is there also a "DEA/FBI control the cartels"? Because the years between 2004 abd 2012 point to that beign the truth.

I hate to say it but I'm now a firm believer in that there's more to the JFK assassination after seeing a real conspiracy theorist break it down for me.

The two conspiracy theories I believe in are that Marilyn Monroe was murdered and that Tommy Wiseau is secretly D.B. Cooper.

Well, more specifically, I think Marilyn was probably murdered. She had just struck a huge deal with a film studio that would've probably done the film world a lot of good for female actors right before her death (namely having more creative control over the films she appeared in and having a greater say on what her roles would be like).

As for Wiseau = Cooper... it probably isn't real, but goddamnit I really want it to be. lol

At some point I found out that the Illuminati were founded in 1776 in Germany and started reading up a lot theories like that their founder Adam Weishaupt replaced Geoge Washington and stuff. Guess I've decided that they indeed were real at some point but not that world-wide undercover group which you might be thinking about

The thing about 9/11 conspiracy theories that is silly to me is the actual theories they make up. Sending up demolition teams to wire WTC 1,2 & 7 with thermite or some dumb shit like that.

Like, if I was the US government and wanted to take down the WTC so that I could get the oil in the middle east or whatever, I wouldn't go through some elaborate plan. It'd be a lot easier to do and get away with to just fund a bunch of extremists to hijack the planes in the first place.

Not that I do believe that, because I've seen a grand total of 0 evidence supporting it, but it'd be a much simpler false flag operation than what conspiracy nuts believe.

Then again, must of what conspiracy nuts believe comes off things "not adding up" whatever that means. Most conspiracy theories focus on what doesn't make sense with the established theory rather than what is more correct about their own hypotheses.

I'm not sure how to think about Diesel's death. He invented the diesel engine and pretty much everyone wanted the licenses, especially the army. He was pretty much a leftist and wrote a book called solidarity and was against the the wishes of the forces. However he died mysteriously on a trip.

From wikipedia:
There are various theories to explain Diesel's death. Certain people, such as his biographer Grosser in 1978,[3] argue that Rudolf Diesel committed suicide. Another line of thought suggests that he was murdered, given his refusal to grant the German forces the exclusive rights to using his invention; indeed, Diesel boarded the SS Dresden with the intent of meeting with representatives of the British Royal Navy to discussing the possibility of powering British submarines by diesel engine[7] - he never made it ashore. Yet, evidence is limited for all explanations, and his disappearance and death remain unsolved.

I used to believe in Bigfoot, UFOs, Lochness Monster but sincec a few billion people have HD cameras on them at all times now with Smartphones and nothing has turned up I've flipped on them. I still believe Aliens exist though.

I do believe in JFK conspiracy theory though. No way he was shot from the back. The zapruder film clearly shows that.

I was never a moon landing is fake type, but one part of it has bugged me forever. How did they get off the moon? Yeah I know the lunar module or whatever, but how did that have the thrust to reach escape velocity? The earth's escape velocity is only about 4 times that of the moon's but requires huge booster rockets, while you can just lift off with the lander?

I've always just assumed this was one of those things I simply don't understand well enough and that the math would check out.

Play Kerbal Space Program and you will understand how it works. To make is simple: it's not linear.

I totally believe this.

That depends on the country you live in. In Germany it would be wrong.

I trully believe that ancient Egypt goes far beyond what we know. Even though very advanced and intelligent, is there very difficult to conceive a Pyramid and such craftmanship like this. Even the Sphynx which is perfectly representing a human face seems less that plausible with just hammer and a pike.

I do believe that they were constructed a very long time ago and that a great flood destroyed all the evidence. There are some incredible videos on youtube about that. About beings of earth that predates humankind.

Other than that, i still believe in 9/11 inside job.

I read something about this before and it had something to do with their being no air or atmosphere on the moon. The lander is also much smaller and when only having to deal with only gravity, the vacuum of space and the weight of the lander, it is infinitely easier to achieve liftoff.

I just woke up to tinkle and am going back to bed so don' feel like searching for it now but I'm sure you could find something on it with a search. What I read made a whole lot of sense.

Same here.

Although the cospiracy about vaccines are such a fucked up one. Its a medical miracle, but people try to ban it. Wtf

Edit. 9/11. How could a nation such as USA allow 2 planes to hit the buildings, and buildings falling in a stright line..

I used to spend a few hours a day on abovetopsecret reading through all the amazing conspiracies people had on there. The black flag and inside job ones never really caught my attention, but the ones about HAARP and government installations always sparked my imagination. Then I got hooked into the cryptozoology aspect of the site.

If you're a writer and short of inspiration this is the place you should start, especially for a Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre.

The recycling you put out on trash day goes straight to the landfill.

I totally believe this.

Some recycling facilities have tours and all of them have details about their processes. I've heard people say this on the past just because they don't want to go through the trouble of recycling. I've toured landfills and recycling facilities and while there is trash that goes to the landfills after it's been sorted, recycling is legit.

Then the one a few underneath...

1985 - Police drop bomb on radicals' home in Philidephia. The fire spread to 50 to 60 other houses in the neighborhood. Steve Harmon, a resident of the area, said: ''Drop a bomb on a residential area? I never in my life heard of that. It's like Vietnam.'' http://www.nytimes.com/1985/05/14/us/police-drop-bomb-on-radicals-home-in-philadelphia.html

might not be that bad a thing if it is something that happens. a lot of materials don't make much sense to recycle but politics, subsidies and marketing has created this industry that lets corporations rake in on consumers who recycle to alleviate their guilt and feel better about themselves even though some of it is counter productive.

Damn.

The Philadelphia aerial bombing of the Move group definitely happened and was widely publicised. It made BBC News, and at the time I remember being dismayed that this air raid was not reported as an atrocity. It's no conspiracy theory. Although a subsequent investigation found that the city had massively overreacted to the Move group, no city official was ever charged for this. Survivors eventually won some compensation in a civil suit.

I forgot about the Black Knight Satellite. Maybe it is the last piece of a satellite network from a previous human civilization?

Imagine if all this time there's been an alien observation station orbiting Earth. I love stuff like that. I'm a firm believer of Aliens and multi-dimensions.

When I was a kid I loved any/all the more fantastical conspiracy theories, not anymore though.

I find it sad when people don't believe that humanity didn't create or needed the assistance of a more advanced race to create things like the Pyramids, Stonehenge, etc. It feels like taking an accomplishment away from a person / group of people because you doesn't understand or refuses to believe it's possible.

I've always just assumed this was one of those things I simply don't understand well enough and that the math would check out.

Yeah, the Saturn V had to be a monster because it needed to get everything up into low earth orbit against Earth's gravity (large) and atmospheric drag (small but appreciable.) With large rockets you get a diminishing returns effect, because adding fuel that has to be carried also adds to the fuel requirement.

By comparison the delta-V needed to get into an Apollo lunar orbit was a little over one-fifth of that needed for low earth orbit, the payload was a tiny fraction of the original payload that left earth, and the gravity to overcome was about 1/6 g. The fuel mass could be lower. The absence of atmospheric drag also reduced fuel costs.

By the way in calculating orbital insertion trajectories, escape velocity is no use. The latter is the velocity you'd need to achieve to completely escape from the gravity well, which we don't want to do with manned spacecraft, at least not yet. To get into orbit, instead you just need to create a trajectory that places your payload at the right altitude moving at the right speed. At the end point, the trajectory seamlessly turns into an ellipse, and you're in orbit. When you see spacecraft leaning at an ever steeper angle shortly after the vertical launch, that's what they're doing, performing a pitch-and-roll manoeuvre that starts to accelerate them in the direction of orbit at the same time as increasing their altitude.

- There are time travelers from future among us and they conceal themselves real good. Whole alien/UFO stuff might be just them, including Mayan/Egyptian mysteries.
- Jesus definitely had a child but I don't think he survived infancy. I don't believe whole Priory of Sion thing real though.
- Prophet Muhammad was a jew. The miracle of him learning everything about god and Abraham's religion instantly by just Archangel Gabriel's snap of a finger is just a myth and I don't believe in myths.
- Romans were aware if America and even had been there.

Good idea for a thread - brings the crazies out of the woodwork and exposes them for the nutjobs they are!

In other news, the CIA is monitoring which cereal I eat, I've seen at least 3 black helicopters circling my house right when I'm pouring out my [REDACTED] into the bowl. Coincidence? You decide. (but decide no)
