So if solidifying the deal is estimated to take 12-18 months when exactly will Feige be able to start calling the shots? After everything has been confirmed? In that case we might be blessed/cursed with a FOX Gambit movie yet.

My wholly baseless guess is that they'll probably start using Fox owned properties in pre-production when needed in movies already on the production slate with the assumption that those rights will be freed up officially with time. I don't think they'll actually greenlight any new X-men or Fantastic Four movies until the deal is final.

Did we have a MCU Discord?

Btw, there's a bunch of new Black Panther promotional art here.

So, I finally got around to watching Legion this weekend, and uh....can we just migrate this to the MCU? Maybe?

I seriously hate showing T'Challa's eyes behind the mask.

Just finished Punisher. That show was really good. Also I am going to be really sad if Thanos doesn't go to Turk to find out where the last Infinity Stone is.

Lmfaaaaaooooooo yo that'd be wild. Turk needs to go home and be a family man.

Please share your impressions in this LTTP: Legion thread. I gotta have to resume my watch soon too, I'll probably do it here when all the shows are on break.

I would prefer they didn't show his eyes either, but for some reason it doesn't bother me much at the moment.

I'm trying to read all of the Cosmic Marvel comics before Infinity War comes out, just for shits and giggles.

One thing is for sure though... they better not even think about killing Thanos at the end of Avengers 4. He's such a cool fucker. I think he could easily have his own solo film in phase 4 or 5, especially if they start leaning more into the cosmic stuff going forward... which I fully expect now that they have Galactus and Surfer back.

Still feels weird to type that out. Marvel got Galactus back. What a time to be alive.

A Thanos solo movie would be a dream for me.
After I've read the classic cosmic stuff, then Abnett and Lanning's run of Cosmic Marvel and even now Infinity I just want him to be way more than a villian for just 2 movies.

I assume they tell people it is MCU related so that they'll hopefully watch it. It's completely insolated from all the other shows and movies though. It makes no attempts to connect itself through lore.

The Staff of One isn't even magical, it's technological.

Yeah it's got the same disconnects (like the duplicate Minoru and Staff of One here and in Doctor Strange) as most of the TV shows, but no mentions of anything that would tie them in. And it wouldn't be too hard to throw in mention of Stark or Banner or whatever when so many of the parents are scientists or businesspeople.

Makes me wonder how Cloak and Dagger and New Warriors will handle it.

In a recent interview, I asked Feige if a character showing up on TV 100 percent means they can't end up in a movie in the future.

"Not necessarily," Feige told io9. "The future's a long time. So, the truth is, I don't really know, but there are a lot of TV shows being made, and hopefully we'll continue to make a lot of movies. At some point, there's going to be a crossover. Crossover, repetition, or something."

He wouldn't throw the word 'repetition' out there if he really gave a shit about what TV was doing. But he's not gonna directly throw them in the bushes either because he knows they rely on the strength of the movie brand to get the shows going. If TV would just commit to disconnecting, none of this would matter.

I'm aware, just kidding.
But I guess there is a chance they recast characters a couple of years after their shows have ended.

The comments by people working on these shows seems to indicate that we might (not saying we will) get a clear disconnect soon. I wouldn't say that the TV shows have been afterthoughts or built from scraps but it's clear that one of the reasons why those sides are still connected is because they can be without stepping on each others toes.

Lol with the current MCU cast, characters in development, and the recent Fox acquisitions, there's literally more chance of Batman showing up in the movies than Charlie Cox Daredevil :(

We already saw a Roxxon outdoor on the Cloak and Dagger teaser...

I don't know where all this stuff needs to go now, but Gambit updates

http://www.nola.com/movies/index.ssf/2017/12/channing_tatums_gambit_headed.html

Shooting under the working title "Forevermore," the project will be directed by "Pirates of the Caribbean" helmer Gore Verbinski and will continue for an estimated 70 days. Producers are eyeing a Feb. 14, 2019, release.

Budget details were unavailable, although the film's original 2015 filing with the state film office indicated at the time that it was operating with a $155 million budget. Of that, $112 million was earmarked for in-state spending, including $28.1 million for Louisiana payroll.
