I've been lucky in that I've seen two Mudkips (only since last night...) and caught both with a Pinap/Ultra. I'm seeing way more Torchic than the other two starters, which strikes me as an odd thing to happen during a water/ice event. I think I've even seen more Treeckos than Mudkips so far.
I'm doing quite well on all those things, but I use Ultra Ball on all of them. Did use a Razz on a 770 cp mudkip that is now my Swampert. No lack of them here, although Torchic is now the main one. Treecko is rare though.
Don't know if I should go for those pikachu though. They feel like a waste when it is the same hat as last year.

Finished up Torchic, so now I have a Combusken and a Blaziken for my living Dex. Same for the Spheal family. Almost there for Seedot at 106 Candy (with already one Nuzleaf caught wild), Meditite at 41 candy
Also found a 2318 Groudon, hatched a Slakoth for some nice candy, found a Carvanha nest, found a Wailmer.

"Extreme weather" for "air quality" warnings is fucking bullshit. I have no weather bonus from now until Christmas morning, wiping out almost all of my rare cloudy/partly cloudy time for the week.
When was Delibird finally added? Saw a couple downtown and panicked trying to catch them. Ended up accidentally loitering in front of a police station.

I'm already up to 73 Mudkip Candy. I'll have Swampert in no time, and I will just farm nests for Torchic and Treecko Candy.
The new Water and Ice Pokemon from Hoenn obviously makes catching more interesting, but only Spheal seems useful. I have one with great stats, so I'm ready to get Walrein with double Ice attacks.

Submit a support ticket with Niantic, hopefully with enough feedback they do away with extreme or tell accuweather to tell their network of meteorologists to enter the correct tags on warnings as it seems to vary by location.
Well, the alert was issued by the National Weather Service for my county, so it's legit, it's just a stupid thing to disable weather for.
I *do* think in general "extreme weather" is absolutely a necessity, because they don't want people risking their lives in dangerous weather (and being blamed for it), but the system does need a fuck of a lot of tweaking.
I wonder when they are planning on releasing the mystics.

The National Weather service issues the alerts but I bet there is miscoding on the local level going into accuweather. One example that I read on the silph road was an alert for unseasonably mild temps, there has to be some local person just putting everything in as a high level alert.
Not the greatest event for an area that isn't a water biome; I've primarily been catching the mainstays (Makuhita, Wurmple, Seedot, Zigzagoon), with a lot of Spheals. I have gotten a bunch of Torchics, a couple Treecko, and one Mudkip. Added 10 species in the last couple days with the new starters, Snorunt, Spheal, Delibird, a random Ralts and Meditite, and evolving a good Slakoth and Makuhita (could have held off but Hariyama is one of my all-time favorites).
Watch as it's literally the same thing as the "I am a passenger" button.

I'm confused about Wurmple. I've evolved about 4 and they've all been Cascoon. Even weirder, I feel like when I press evolve, the game glitches out and suddenly the candy is gone. Eventually I find Cascoon just sitting in the box.

2. Has anyone discovered any logic to the Wurmple evolutions, like how stats determine Tyrogue evolutions, or the one-time nickname thing for Eevee?

Wurmple is purely random, people have caught the same one and gotten different evolutions. I haven't seen that glitch but I haven't evolved anything with the latest update.
It's going to be 0 degrees on Tuesday so of course I get extreme weather today.
Anyone know of any Raid Discord for Disney? I'll be here for the next few days and want to sneak in a legendary raid or two. I haven't done a legendary raid yet and Kind of hoping I'll catch my first legendary in this game.

Is Hariyama and Walrein any good for raids? I need to know if I'm wasting my time looking a good competitive one.

Sucks that I've only ever ran into 3 Machop since I started paying Pokémon Go when it released. I'll try and build up a small Hariyama fighting force while I'm at Disney because it's pre evo isn't available back where I live.
How's Heracross? I caught two decent ones both over 2,000 CP.
Is Wailord worth the time getting the 400 candies for? Is it just as good as Gyarados?
Sucks about Walrein. I really hoped Walrein would be viable in Raids. I won't bother looking for a good IV one and just evo the next one I catch.
Hariyama is less good as an attacker but would be decent if you don't have any Machamps.

Finally caught my groudon on my 7th attempt last night. Talk about a huge relief. Pokedex is up to 306 now. Went to a wailmer nest tonight and got 320 candies before calling it a night.
Going to do a pier walk today with my friend, gonna get all them water mons. Should be nice with no one out there.
Took the effort to get out for two hours this morning. Got extra candy for Treecko and Ralts where I'm getting close, rounded off Seedot so I now have a Shiftry, got a 1140 CP Wailmer, my first Barboach and my first Feebas. I'm up to 300 species!
Also managed to sneak past level 35. I'm now level 36, with an amazing 4 XP. Became level 35 somewhere around October 20th. So it took me a bit more than 2 months, nice round-off for the year.
I used the extra level to power up all my top level Pokémon, including sneaking my Vaporeon past 3K. I'm now up to 9 3000 CP Pokémon. They're not all that useful, but it is nice for bragging rights.

Two local EX Raids today, one in a mall and another at a Sprint store in a strip mall, got cancelled. Organizers for the mall raid had already contacted mall security and obtained permission to come inside, and the Sprint location was accessible from the sidewalk outside.
Seriously, what are Niantic even thinking? Two premium raid passes don't make up for the loss of an EX Raid...

It sounds like the straight up cancelled all Sprint Store raids.
