Dude, show up late, Max doesn't perform until the last 30 minutes. They open with this clown doing standup and he would not shut up! Literally NO ONE was laughing, but he kept going. I was cringing myself into a ball.

The culprit looks like Jesus lol but everyone singing was great. His "true face" personality was cool too.
Aaaaand some plot foreshadowing I guess. Either Inga or the rebels' leader will end up dead by the end of this, or there'll be some betrayal.

What do you mean by "And does this mean we'll get the true culprit killed?" Several of the verdicts in the other games result in death sentences. Possibly even most/all of them.

We know from AAI2 that there are indeed some culprits that haven't had the death penalty, but AA1-3 shows that some of them must have.
ie) Dahlia Hawthorne and Manfred Von Karma
Well we know Frank Sahwit and Acro didn't receive it, right? I'm sure Vasquez didn't get it either. There's Marlon too but I guess he's an unique case. Oh and Jeffrey Master from AAI2. But it's true most of the times I'm assuming they don't get the death penalty heh.

Dahlia got it because she was behind two murders, and that Von Karma died due to illness?

You might be right about Dahlia, indeed. But there was never any reference to Von Karma having an illness. There was a bullet in his shoulder but he didn't die from it. In AA2 Phoenix tells Gumeshoe "didn't he stand trial and...?" which means he got the death sentence.
AA6 Case 2
Overall one of my favorite cases I'd say. I think I'll be looking forward to the Apollo sections the most haha but next case is Maya time so we'll see!

Man I'm liking the animated cutscenes' quality! Bonny saying what she did was really suspicious but maybe that's just the game's intention to throw you off. And I saw Mr Hat's Shadow in the video!
I can finally examine the office in 3D :D Awww Phoenix should tell them about Mia. And sucks that there's no comment about Phoenix's hat. Thank God Trucy is telling us the secret to her trick unlike in AJ where it was annoying.
I'm so glad Ema is back with her true happiness <3 RIP Snackoos tho. So this game has Maya, Ema, Trucy and Athena?! Nice. I hope Maya ends up interacting with all of them eventually.

I've finished AA1 and AA2 over the past week, and enjoyed the experience. AA1 was really solid overall and episode 5 was really cool, was it an added chapter for the DS release?
Admittedly, I was more mixed on AA2, there were some details from the cases I was kind of meh on.
The last case was really cool though.
I've finished case 1 of AA3, and that was also neat. I'm excited knowing that the series has a lot more games to play through.

Something that kinda threw me off was how much Athena was treated as a noob.. I mean, I guess she did kinda panic with Payne in the previous game but I expected more faith from Blackquill. Other than that I enjoyed Athena and Blackquill's relationship during this case. Blackquill was pretty entertaining from the defense side, tricking everyone haha.
Also aren't case 4s of games supposed to lead or give clues about the case 5? I guess they really wanted to include an Athena trial or maybe I'm missing something, but I still enjoyed the case. And why are there fewer cutscenes? ;_; The previous case and this one only had like 1 cutscene.No Ema either!

I imagine the fan patch for Case 3 in DGS should be the quickest since it is the shortest case in the game, but I'm really curious how they're going to handle Van Zieks's nickname and his pet name for Naruhodo.
"Reaper" or "Deathbringer". Hoping for Reaper since that fits Van Zieks's vampire motif, the way the public views his "situation", and a handful of lines that refer to his name as an unbias deity, while "Deathbringer" has no such significance and sounds more like a punk rock album. But the translation will probably go with Deathbringer due to that newspaper in DGS2. It makes sense to do that, just...yeah...
Probably "Japanese" even though I think that sounds really clumsy to use in a sentence and takes up too much of the textbox. "Jap" saves space but I think that would make players uncomfortable while garnering too much negative publicity and seems too crass for someone like Van Zieks to use. For all his emo and tough guy persona he's still a romanticized English Nobleman.
Since Van Zieks has no personal beef with Naruhodo rather with all of Japan and he's using Naruhodo as a representative of the country, I've always translated him calling Naruhodo "Japan". It's shorter for the text box, it's still rude, but it's not being outwardly offensive.

He's my favourite artist currently associated with the series as well - I feel like it might be holding him back in some regards, though; or at least being at Capcom in general. Maybe that's because after AA4 he's been assigned to a spinoff I didn't get into and two titles which didn't leave Japan, but I'd like to see more of his work, extending to other series and settings.
It'll likely never happen, but he's one artist I'd love to see work on Fire Emblem.

Seriously glad that the composer of PLvsAA gets to work on DGS. His music is definitely top tier
His versions of the AA1 remixes just might be the best in the series.
So I've been replaying a couple cases in Spirit of Justice and dear lord Sahdmadi is even worse than I remember him being. Easily the worst prosecutor in the entire series, including the Paynes. I love the visual design and wanted to like him when I played the game, but man. Like, if he was some rookie prosecutor, fine, whatever, but he's considered to be one of the best prosecutors in the world, flying in to prosecute cases outside of his country, and everyone applauds him for his amazingness, but all he does is be a dickweed, hurling insults and telling the defense to give up. His cases are flimsy almost all the time, too.
You can call Klavier or Franziska bad prosecutors, and I wouldn't entirely disagree, but at least they take their jobs seriously and try to, you know, make fucking cases. Nahyuta is just an arsehole who walks into the courtroom and thinks he owns the place and can win by merit of being Nahyuta. And then the story of the last case tries to make him likable, and I just can't find anything redeemable or likable about him.

Klavier is bad. He's not a strong adversary, he's a bit of a clutz, and he's too cooperative, but he's nowhere near as bad as Nahyuta, by a far margin.
Nayuta is at least confrontational. For as dull as he is, he comes across as a convincing enough threat. There's hardly ever any tension in AJ because of Klavier. He's practically a second assistant. There's lots of times in SoJ where it feels like you might lose. That just doesn't happen in AJ.
