PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Xbox Game Preview |OT| Jump Out

I'm on the 1X and seem to mostly crash when picking up items. I don't recall the last time I crashed just running or driving. My friends on the OG Xbox crash almost every game and usually while driving.

Depends on the situation. If I'm running and gunning outside, I'm usually in third person but if I'm shooting at a distance or around obstacles like windows, I use first person. Third person perspective doesn't always give you the most accurate idea to how your gun lines up with an object.

Do you only play alone? I have over 40 hours in so far and only see crashing during duos or squads.

Played just now on OG and at least for this match there was no rubber banding or noticable lag at all. Played great and I was in a buggy most of the time.

That's fine. I don't see myself upgrading to an x in the near future but I would like this stable on my pro.

Played today and was overall smooth. Really annoying to have to stand around for 5 to 10 seconds for the houses to render. Playing on OG Xbox.

Some of the most hilarious times have happened when a squad member has dropped.

It seems to keep you doing whatever you were doing when you dropped.. so one time.. a squad member was away from the rest of us looting, and the blue circle was closing in. We're all running towards safety and he dropped. Well, he kept running.. and running.. and running.. he ran all the way from the Pochinki east hill to just east of Gatka before he joined back in. He ran that far without running into anything and without getting killed. He ran through a couple of firefights too! During his run the circle closed in and his running took him into that circle as well. We were all dying laughing (and then died in game.. of course).

It is frustrating when it keeps happening though, hopefully it's on their priority list for fixes.

I've also ran into some weird instakill bugs with level geometry. A squad member was climbing on a tractor and somehow got pinned inside and instantly killed. Another member when up to loot the body and got stuck. I had a time where I vaulted over a wall into a big storage container and instantly got killed, that wasn't fun.

Despite all that.. the easy of getting into another game makes it a super addictive game. I keep saying "just one more game.." until the wee hours of the morning it seems.

It's best to be crouched and not moving. If someone is running and gunning and stationary and taking measured shots, you'll generally win the gun battle.

Came in last place on my first attempt at this game. Got the top spot in my second by killing only the final person. This game is real fun and tense like SOCOM.

Just had a duos game where we were in a very good position to win. Last few teams. Well kitted our and good positioning but both got disconnected! I hope they fix this soon.

I'm finally back in the groove. My new strategy is to be cautious on the move, and aggressive as I can be when I spot or hear someone. Constantly playing slowly makes it difficult for me to get it going when it's time to drop someone.

I'm still fighting for my first solo chicken dinner. This ranking system is interesting, I'm sitting at 1,160 overall rank with a 1,766 winning score and a 1,711 kill rating. Absolutely no dinners.

two crashes in one game, having had one in a while, 2nd crash got me killed since I was in a car, came back with lil life and got shot in less then a min

I have a friend that I play duos with most nights, but he's terrible. Doesn't listen to what I'm telling him and makes really bad choices.

For example, last game we played we were in a house and someone got the drop on me and took me out with a pistol. I tell my friend where the guy is so he can come and take him out with his m16 and my friend comes running into the room with a smoke grenade in his hand..

Hilarious, but there's no way we're going to win a match of duos. Not unless I carry him to the end.

Whatever they did server side, I have almost 0 rubber banding on the europe server as of today.

Now I'm even more addicted.

I'm playing on a X1S with it installed to an external and I have only had 1 crash since launch, though it was during the only time I made it into the top 3. >_>;

Didn't have anything but a machete in the first 5 min and didn't have anything but a shotty and pistol in the final 20 and still managed my first chicken dinner with 6 kills. I felt like a god.

Playing it on OG xbox and loving it. What a game! Even in this state this is GOTY for me, no doubt. This will definitely change the FPS landscape I'm sure of it.

I've logged almost 15 hours and only had a handful of crashes, 3-4 maybe, and most of the times I can just reload the game and jump back in to the same match without problems. I of course respect others that say they have perfomance issues but for me they have been nearly non-existent. Some rubberbanding, textures not loading instantly and low FPS in the very beginning, that's it – nothing game breaking at all.

Game is really inconsistent with this. I shot a guy 4 times with a shot gun yesterday at close range and he didn't die....

Then In the very next game I get an instant kill like this.....

Finally! When we have a team of three it can take forever to find the one randy. And I can't imagine it's any fun for that randy since the three of us are in a party and don't ever actually care about him/her.

Just got this on the original Xbox One, wow it looks and runs waay better than I expected after all I've read about the game's performance.

I've only played 3 games so far, it's intense! I was shaking in my last encounter, had crawled up in a room after I heard some footsteps, shotgun raised ready for the kill, guy steps in, hasn't seen me, I pull the trigger ...and nothing! I hadn't loaded any ammunition for my shotgun, stupid mistake, try to switch to a pistol and it's too late. Guy shoots me with a shotgun.

There's something more intense about this game than Fortnite, not sure what it is, maybe it's just the more grounded feel?

So I just started the game, the version number is still the same but things have been updated like 3 man squads, how awesome.

And is it me or is the anti aliasing greatly improved? Used to see nasty jaggies in the waiting area and overall and it's a much cleaner picture now. Framerate seems better in places and worse in others.

My control settings have been reset to default though and damn I forgot what they were.

I think the first patch had mentioned improved anti-aliasing

I keep getting about 5 kills in a game and always reach like top 20 but once that circle gets smaller, I'm god awful at this game. I get shot instantly somewhere from someone laying in grass and it's so difficult to see where the shots are even coming from for me, I can't even hear it correctly either.

The game crashed on me four times in a couple of hours last night, im sure the frame rate issue will take longer to fix but just keep it from crashing for now at least.

A good headset is really the only combatant against everyone being prone. That and a bit of luck while using free look.

Oh but I didn't notice any better AA there but now definitely.

But it definitely to me seems I barely ever get 30fps anymore. Just had a match and man that framerate dragged along crazy at times while before i had plenty of times with a smooth 30fps.


Oh wait, you mean the AA for the Xbox One and S, but now it looks much cleaner on X than before.

This is great news. I've been looking forward to 3 man squads. I feel like 1 or 2 man squads would put you at too much of a disadvantage at the late game, but it's good to have options.

Hmmm I have the controls settings set back to how i used to have it and yet it feels off. It's not as responsive as it was, gonna need to change some of these control settings then.

3 man squads is superb though, they really listen.

As soon as I'm forced out of towns and buildings by the circle I just get caught. I feel like when I run I must sound like I'm carrying a bunch of empty cans because everyone seems to be sneakier than me. People are so good at shooting now too which doesn't help because if you do see someone they can still get you.

It's definitely a game of patience and strategy at the end. You have to pick out when you're going to move, how fast you move, where you position yourself. It becomes a very different game by the end.

defiantly I just haven't mastered it yet. I feel like as soon as you move it's a risk and my old strategy of stopping at trees and rocks is worthless because someone was probably tracking my run the entire time. I wish this had kill cams just so I can see how bad I really am.

One tip, use the hills, trees, rocks etc. Too many people try to hide in houses when honestly being on a good hill with dips/rocks gives you open range to shoot and cover. This is a bit tougher in solo without teammates to help though.

Yeah, the end game is predicting the circle and hopefully finding a decent spot. I love laying in tall grass in the shade and just waiting for somebody to make the wrong move.

Shade with neutral-colored clothing is surprisingly effective, especially in spots where the terrain gives you some coverage from the side/back from a silhouette view.

PC version has kill cams! I expect it to come in the next few months to Xbox. I feel ya though, you're mega vulnerable in the end and any movement you make can be spotted since everyone ends up so close together

On the One X, is it possible to set this to run at 1080p instead of 4k and get better performance?

I'm great at shooting, just darn awful at being stealthy there at the end. I really love when I hear someone walk into the same house and then start coming up the stairs and I just started blasting him with a shotgun, feels good that the waiting a bit paid off.

I mostly do only play solo. I did a few rounds of squads but it was about a handful. I do use a external HDD if that changes things

I got a ghillie suit for the first time last night and posted up on the edge of the 4th circle on a hill behind a tree and just went to town on people with an AWM w/ 8x. People must have been losing their minds.

No and resolution wouldn't really help much in this game.

Really soured on this game the last few days. Getting killed randomly in positions where I shouldn't be seen. No hit markers having you spinning around like an idiot trying to figure out where you're getting hit from.

That's pretty awesome. The first time I played duo with a friend that's not a big gamer. We were sitting in a jeep in first person mode waiting for the circle to move and were goofing around. He's like "check out my machete" and whacked me with it. Almost killed me and he's laughing and like "sorry man, didn't know you could do that."

LMAO. I had something similar a while ago where I chased down a guy for a good 3 minutes, he had no clue I was after him and he had a hard time jumping over a fence and I was able to beat him down.

Game has some amazing moments.
