i have the N.A. NTSC on ps1. just ran the intro FMV now. the dialogue on the intro is a bit softer when they have the flight masks on but louder when they take them off. Regina's pretty loud when she asks: "What about Cooper?" it sounds deliberate.Since Dino Crisis was brought up, I only ever own PAL versions, but the intro FMV vocal audio was almost impossible to hear over the other audio. Was all regions like this?

Hello, ResidentEra, or whatever you want to be called!
Resident Evil 7 is okay but isn't where I want the seris to go so I haven't felt the need to look up the community thread for this before but I'm glad to see some Action RE fans in here.
I've been replaying Chris/Pier's campaign in RE6 with my Resident Evil coop butt-buddy and it's still just so damn fun. The best way to describe the gameplay in RE6 is to not call it a TPS, but rather a Beat'm Up that just so happens to have guns as an option. Outside of dealing with enemies in the distance, I mainly just use the Melee and Counters with the occasional Quickshot.
Chris sucks in Marvel Infinite but at least I can still wreck shit up in 5 & 6!
Soooo I still haven't actually gotten around to playing RE7 (despite being a franchise fan since way back in '96) due to being deployed when it came out and just getting distracted.... that and I was honestly sad it wasn't animu-action RE.
That being said, I finally picked it up (thanks Amazon price error!) and came up with a New Year's Resolution of replaying all entries available on PS4 leading to RE7 :)
Wish me luck!
Looks like an RE sale for the new year. Prices don't seen to be up for all of them yet.
Glad you finally got around to playing it and are loving it. It would pretty cool to experience it for the first time again.Well, I've put it off for 13 years for some bizarre reason, but I've finally started RE4.
I've only played to the "where are they going: bingo?" title drop, but I'm loving it so far.
I'm playing the Wii version with GC controller on a crt for that classic experience. The only problem I'm having are the button prompts being for the Wii controllers. I've figured out the main controls now, but I'm worried about the QTEs.
I know a few things about the game, but nothing major at all. I mainly just remember people gushing over El Gigante, or however it is pronounced.

I also need to mention the shotgun reload animation, because that looks pretty snazzy.
Oh yeah, TimeSplitters is a great series that I would like to see return. The funny thing is that I was really hyped for it when it was coming out back on the GameCube, but never bought it, then I just kept putting it off.
I assume something else must have came out at the same time that I got instead.
Edit: Oh yeah, it was TimeSplitters Future Perfect. Well, at least I didn't get a bad game instead of it, because that's one of my top 10 of all time, and I put well over a thousand hours into each of the 3 games from that series.
i'm a huge CRT guy, but if you plan to play on a CRT. i'd grab free one off craigslist that can do component and play it off a white wii with component cables. So, I have REmake on the Gamecube and I want to play through it but I only have an HDTV. I've heard the game looks like shit on HDTVs (and having played it briefly, it does) but I still want to run through it. Should I just wait until I have a readily available CRT? I don't really feel like buying the HD PS4 port because I need to save my money and it'd be on my roommate's PS4.
Yeah, I've got a Gamecube with component cables so that's taken care of. I just don't have the room for a CRT in my tiny apartment lol.i'm a huge CRT guy, but if you plan to play on a CRT. i'd grab free one off craigslist that can do component and play it off a white wii with component cables.
playing via gamecube with a good picture gets expensive.
nice man, you got the best equipment. since you got the all expensive GN component cables go full CRT if you can grab one.Yeah, I've got a Gamecube with component cables so that's taken care of. I just don't have the room for a CRT in my tiny apartment lol.
Also, out of curiosity, why a white Wii specifically?
I prefer the PS3 HD version. Though it can be darker than the original. IMO though either one is fine. Though currently i'd go with whatever is cheaper.Im thinking of playing Code Veronica X - for the first time, but now I'm in a dilemma, should I get the PS3 HD version or the PS4 PS2 Classic, which one is better regarding responsiveness / graphics?
I see, thanks. Yeah, I just wanted to know if one is definitely preferable over the other, so I'll go indeed with whatever is cheaper! :)I prefer the PS3 HD version. Though it can be darker than the original. IMO though either one is fine. Though currently i'd go with whatever is cheaper.
I guess the HD version would be the most responsive, have the better framerate (especially compared to the PAL version), but I like the look of the original version much more.Im thinking of playing Code Veronica X - for the first time, but now I'm in a dilemma, should I get the PS3 HD version or the PS4 PS2 Classic, which one is better regarding responsiveness / graphics?
I see, thanks, well that definitely sounds like I'd like the HD version more. And is the PS4 PS2 Classic a PAL conversion?I guess the HD version would be the most responsive, have the better framerate (especially compared to the PAL version), but I like the look of the original version much more.

Well, technically we're talking about the PS4 PS2 Classic version which surely would be the same worldwide, but still may be based on the PAL version?Yes. So if you're in the EU the HD version is definitely better than the PAL PS2 version.
Nah, only PAL territories. I just mentioned it because I'm in the UK and there is no 60HZ version of Code Veronica here besides the HD version, so even though I prefer the original version, I still sucks that I have to put up with the 50HZ slowdown and all that.I see, thanks, well that definitely sounds like I'd like the HD version more. I see, yeah that sucks. I'm glad I asked... I probably wouldn't be very happy with a 50hz PAL version. And now I even get it bundled with RE4... I kinda love collecting these games, I already have the Chronicles HD bundle (and didn't like it lol, I only played one game from the two yet though) , I just hope I like Code Veronica, but from everything I read I should like it!Nah, only PAL territories. I played CV on the Dreamcast loads growing up. It's a pretty nostalgic game for me (like all the classic RE games are). Playing it more recently I think it is one of the more weaker games in the series, but I do still always enjoy playing through it now and again.I see, yeah that sucks. I'm glad I asked... I've brought it up, not enough enough slots to hold one slot of ammo for each type of gun, god forbid you have two slots devoted to one ammo type.As I've stated, I like RE6, but one problem I have with the game that I never hear anyone else mention is the lack of inventory space. I'm constantly out of inventory space in that game, even more so than RE4.
i'm sure it will be on switch at some point =) prob the most ported game ever for RE franchise.Oh, that room.
I always try to evade the first bolts shot at me, have a grenade ready and take out the bowgun snipers from the balcony. Then take my shotgun out and get ready to roundhouse kick some dudes in the face.
Man, I want to play RE 4 again. Both of my copies aren't at my place :( Kind of hoping Capcom will port over to the Switch though.
I dont understand why Mercs 3D didn't get the port treatment. I was kinda expecting it for the new era re-release of Revelations. Are we (the Mercs only game wanters) in minority or?

The entire inventory system sucked having to scroll through weapons...in an action game, with no pausing environment while switching.
Well, I don't want a port of that game. I have an extreme love/hate feeling toward it. On the one hand, I put in so many hours with it, got so much fun out of it, and love it for that. On the other hand, for a full-price (at the time) retail game, Capcom's complete handling of it was total and utter shit! It was a very barebones package, and that shit they pulled with making it impossible to clear the save memory was just...wow!
But yeah, the concept of a Mercs standalone game is awesome, and it is a game that deserves its own spotlight. But to simply package a bunch of leftovers, sell them at full price, and when people reject it assume the fans don't want such a thing...

Anyways, ordered, now the wait begins, haha.
:o
Hope I don't have to pay tax (this seems to be a lottery every time I import something lol, but it should be cheap enough to not trigger customs...)
Oh that's interesting, never even heard of this. I'll check it out since I still have the Saturn in the closet.took a break from Re4.
started to play this resident evil clone that was recommended on here for the sega saturn: it does sure feel like a survival horror title:
God the end of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is the cheesiest and most fan-gratifying thing ever. It's the best
The reaction to the events of RE6 ongoing in the epilogue was pretty awkward tho
Claire: "Oh, you found Chris after six months of being missing? What's that, he's an amnesiac and barely remembers anything? Oh, you have him fighting mutating guerilla soldiers in China? Well, tell him and Piers I said hi!"
I guessWell, Chris is a BSAA member who has been fighting mutating guerilla soldiers and various mutants since 1998. I'm sure it's "ah, another day, another apocalypse scenario" for the Redfields right now.
