Nice looking OT!

I'm hoping that an announcement of the GOAT kart racer being remastered with online play is at PSX this year.

Good work on the OT.

Really enjoyed playing the PS1 trilogy again with the HD collection earlier this year.

That would be great, and I think last time I checked they weren't dismissing that a CTR remaster could happen, so I'm pretty confident we'll get an announcement soon.

Great OP!

Back in the days I've only played and finished Crash 3 on PSX. Never played any other Crash games before or after until the N.Sane Trilogy arrived. I'm currently playing the N.Sane Trilogy and just recently platinumed Crash 1. This game is hard as fuck, hoooly shit! Love the game tho. It's one of the best platformers ever made. Now I'm in the last third of Crash 2, but this isn't as good as the first one. I miss the world map consisting of several islands which reminded me of DKC. In Crash 2 it's just a few warp rooms you're switching by an elevator. The game is way easier than the first one and while it has a bunch of new features it just doesn't feel as great as the first one. To me it feels more like a DLC pack. Still a joy to play, tho.

Alright, for this week, we've got two things to note:
  • Activision will be reporting their Q3 conference call on their profits since Q2, we may see more notes about N. Sane Trilogy on November 2nd, (this Thursday)
  • The Standard Crash Bandicoot Funko is probably coming earlier than expected to GameStop in the US, leading to it being unable to be preordered, according to a tip by a friend (November 1st)
    • For anyone in the US trying to preorder, I recommend asking the cashier/staff for the date if you are unable to preorder in-store or online
  • Happy Halloween, everyone!

Recently I tried to play Wrath of Cortex for the first time in like 10 years and it's kind of like an uninspired version of Crash Warped with floaty jumping, weird hitboxes and dumb bosses.

Not much has been said regarding Crash Bandicoot but they are saying that performance is "strong" for it:

Both Activision and Blizzard delivered strong library content in the quarter with Activision's Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® Remastered, released as a standalone game, and Blizzard's StarCraft®: Remastered.

That's great news. Sales were 2.5 million by the end of September so if I were to guess, it must've hit 3 million by now. I may be overblowing it but it's no secret that this is a worldwide success.

I expect it to do immensely well during the holidays.

A thread for a game that was never good :p

CTR was my second game, and playing N Sane trilogy with a friend who owns a PS4 was so wonderful. Hoping that N. Sane trilogy was the kick in the pants Activision needed for more Crash.

I'll be waiting for news about a CTR remake at PSX. If it's not there, I'll be waiting for news about a CTR remake at E3. If it's not there, I'll be waiting for news about a CTR remake at whatever event is next. I'll be waiting.

The cinematics animator that worked on N. Sane will be streaming a Developer Commentary livestream playing the game alongside other assorted games for the Extra Life Charity tomorrow at 1:30PM EST

I will be providing a link when it becomes available

Apologies for not posting the link to the livestream yesterday, here are some clips people saved over some of the stuff
https://go.twitch.tv/epicshepard/clips

I will be posting a summary whenever I can, or if anyone has a thorough idea of it

EDIT: Here is some of the bullet points from the livestream, this is not definitive and may have some errors
  • Some information that was asked by several people on the livestream chatroom were not answered due to contractual and confidential reasons.
    • There was no higher-ups in the livestream.
    • Some things were "Above our pay-grade" as well
  • Rilla Roo was acknowledged as an unmutated character from the Crash Bandicoot 1 cinematic cutscene as one of the two "Kangaroo" caged animals
  • Pre-production did not start early of 2015 as Activision wasn't keen yet on the idea of bringing back Crash Bandicoot in something other than the Thumpin Wumpa Islands Pack and as playable characters in Skylanders Imaginators
    • The T-shirt tease by Shawn Layden wasn't signaling for N. Sane, was rather for Thumpin Wumpa Islands Pack/Playable Crash/Cortex characters in Skylanders Imaginators as the form of Crash Bandicoot's comeback
    • They talked about how at first it was a "lie"
  • Wrath of Cortex was not much liked according to Tuan/Kara
  • They liked the BetaM Glitches Compilation as they have stated that they wanted some things to remain the same way as the originals
  • Fake Crash's new cameos was something everyone helped with at VV, making ideas of where to put him and choosing the best ones
  • The Orange Gem in Crash 2 100% ending was an accident
  • They considered some skin ideas, like Low Poly Crash and playable Tawna
  • VV made their own reaction compilations for employees to see
  • They're also aware of the recent memes
  • They are well aware of the criticism regarding the choice of font in N. Sane by responding to that inquiry with "Yeah, we can imagine"
  • Tuan and Kara have not played the Spyro games
  • They kept the Skylanders Crash dance in N. Sane Trilogy because it was something VV liked since it's their own version and all
  • There was some changes in the developer times of the Time Trials due to several adjustments done to the levels in N. Sane
  • The unified Game Over screen was part of the decision made at VV to make the games consistent and connected
  • VV hated the trailers and previews because they feared people would take them the wrong way. Like, how the different angles made certain things look jank and the slow gameplay from the PSX Trailer, as well as some things being way too early to show
Some of the bullet points were contributed by several other people and is not our own list, thanks to all of those who have helped us make the summary list of the livestream. If this list is missing anything or in need for some changes, please let us know.

Thanks for posting the bullet points, I missed the livestream.

That would've been so disappointing haha.

I don't want to sound like a fanboy or something but, unless Activision officially confirms otherwise or we get a Skylanders-style leak, I wouldn't count on December to be the month for multiplat N. Sane Trilogy news...

Just finished Crash 1 a couple weeks ago, and also got the platinum trophy and the trophies for getting the gold relic on Stormy Ascent. The platinum was difficult, but really fun. Stormy Ascent was a living nightmare lol. Can't wait to play Crash 2 soon.

I've noticed a drastic drop in people interesting in posting, I assume most people are waiting for what's next, regardless of what people think of N. Sane Trilogy

I am, however, excited for that next thing, a new game especially (though CTR Remake is tolerable for me since I got introduced to the series via that game)

Anyways, what do we have for this week? Oh yeah, we've got a ton of merchandise coming up and these are just some of them:

Have a look at the new merchandise that's coming and the ones already available as well from GB Eye and Posters (some of these are on PlayStation Gear):

GB Eye-GB Posters

Walmart US has the poster on sale, not sure if 3rd party or in-store...

There's now a Big Box Crate Box coming up as well with some goodies (from Exquiste Gaming, who are also doing the Cable Guy Controller Figure), in addition, there's a DrJays Cap/Hat:

Playing Crash 2 again as an adult, I can't believe it never occurred to me to question why Crash was following Cortex's orders without question all of a sudden. Seriously, why would he start gathering crystals for the guy he just whomped for stealing his girlfriend?

I know, #deepestlore and all that, but... really?

The fan in me would just simply assume that Crash's too dumb to determine the intent of Cortex's demands verses going after him from Crash 1 after the evolvo-ray mindfuck :v (dumb theory, I know)

Good news, they removed the guy who hacked the leaderboards of N. Sane! *hurray*
P.S. I am fully aware of the whole "unannounced" project shenanigans.

Well, um

Remember to give a 102% for your """Achievement""". Thanks, Crash *eyeroll*

Anyways, away from that GIF and let's get onto some more merch, because I know we will be waiting a little while for a game post-NST:
    • First 4 Figures have produced a grand total of Aku Aku statues in the following subsections: 250 Golden, 475 Exclusive and finally, 550 tentative factored Combo Pack Masks (needs double-checking according to Alex)
    • It's production will begin after Majora's Mask and Spyro are wrapped up.
    • The long-anticipated Crash Bandicoot Resin statue is now estimated to be coming on March 2018 (Q1 2018 – Sneak Peek)
    • A second new resin is coming afterwards, no details yet.
  • Crash Bandicoot was the mascot sponser for Sweden's Hockey Championship in 1999/2000, fun fact!
  • Check within your retailer for the Totaku figure, they are starting to get preorder listings up, ask me about the assorted retailers having those preorder pages up since I am not sure about linking to my fansite blog just solely for that...

Source: MCV Pacific

Activision has dominated the 2017 in Australia and New Zealand, taking out the top two spots in both territories.

The Call of Duty juggernaut returned to the top of the charts, with WWII the number one seller in both Australia and New Zealand. It is joined at the top of the charts by the outrageously successful Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy. Both titles took out seven numbers ones each in both countries last year – a massive feat. In total, Activision claimed 16 Australian and 17 New Zealand number ones out of a possible 52.

Crash Bandicoot has dominated the top charts for the entirety of 2017 in Australia and New Zealand, staging only behind CoD by being No. 2 (!!!)

I'm trying not to get too excited by the rumour about a Crash game in 2019, especially since it might be the new Skylanders game (isn't that series on hiatus and getting a reboot?) But there's a tiny voice in my head that just keeps asking "What if this time it's CTR?"

Thanks for the all updates Motwera!

I love Crash and I love the remake, but the motorbike levels are awful.

Also, I would like to think the Bandicoot for providing us with the gift of Spyro!
