No, but Rolovich is calling plays now. I think they were running a form of the offense he ran as OC at Nevada, but he played in the run and shoot under June Jones at UH.
Well I hope it works out for them. I know Hawaii was considering dropping football and I would hate to see them go. Anything to potentially invigorate the program is fine by me.

Yeah, I'm half happy because it'll be an exciting style of play that the fans like, which will hopefully help with attendance, but half because the system allowed them to compete against teams that might have better talent but weren't used to defending it.

It's kinda like the passing version of the triple option.

I hope some day a program is bold enough to bring the wishbone back. It's a variant of the triple option. More mid majors need gimmick offenses because you're right on talent alone a lot of these programs simply can't go toe to toe using similar offenses

Not gonna lie, I don't disagree with the statement. Offensive woes and defensive injuries made this a bit of a down year, but it came when most other teams were also having down years so it didn't hurt too much.

Alabama was the best team in a field of flawed ass squads, but I don't believe for a second the team was worse than the 2014 or 2015 squads. Our defense was better than both of those team's at full strength, and Daboll's offense still quietly outperformed any of Kiffin's.

The 2013 and 2016 teams are, of course, two of the better teams in recent CFB memory to fall short of winning it all, and even last year that was mostly due to having an all-time great defense. I'd have taken a healthy 2017 unit over 2016's in a heartbeat, with either Jalen or Tua.

You don't beat a single top 15 team during the regular season and can't even win your division yet still get a spot in the playoff.

Pretty easy to win when the system bends backwards to put you in that position.

So, based on Les saying he was interested in the Arkansas job, what are the odds he is coaching next year?

(Pls let us steal Surtain Jr.)

Man, next year's gonna be fun. A front 7 full of more experience than they should have after all the injuries they suffered this year, and what should be an even more dynamic offense. I'm glad Damien stuck around another year. With Bo gone and Najee in Michigan, I was worried about our backfield.

10TV has confirmed that former #Buckeyes OC Ed Warinner has accepted a position on Mike Vrabel's staff with the #Titans. Warinner had just taken a job with Michigan on Saturday.

UGA TE and special teams coach, Shane Beamer, is leaving for an assistant head coaching position at Oklahoma. UGA will definitely need to fill one of their two coaching openings with a coach with special teams experience.

I booted up NCAA 14 and took over ULM (with updated rosters they were the worst team in the land) and switched them to Navy's playbook. I ended up with a top 3 rushing offense and only lost 1 game in my second season (to LSU), before jumping ship to Florida. It was fun slowly beating the will of CPU teams by running for 4 yards at a time.

OJ Howard being 10th in career receptions at Alabama is the most shocking thing I've read in weeks.

How???

Lane Kiffin the unappreciated genius
that's not even remotely the right read on this.

I agree with Mug. I saw every game OJ Howard could have played, and besides the Clemson games, it felt like multiple games would go by without Howard getting a catch. Him being #10 in the Alabama career books baffles me. Looking at the list, the top 10 all come from the last 15 years, except 1, and that ain't Ozzie Newsome. I have no memory of David Bailey.

Howard's also #10 in receiving yards.

Everyone in the top 10 averaged like 12-15 YPC, and then there's Ozzie Newsome at 20 YPC.

It's mind-boggling. Seriously, how is that possible lmao

You can see the game log breakdown here. He didn't get the ball much in a majority of his games. But occasionally it seems like Kiffin remembered he had a huge mismatch and threw him the ball.

45 catches a year seems pretty normal for a TE in college.

Only 2 players in the SEC had over 1000 yards receiving last year. 118 players caught 50+ passes last year, less than 10 came from the SEC (I think 7).

In his 3 years at Alabama Howard ranked 4th, 3rd and 3rd on the team in catches. His first year when he was 4th, only two players on the team caught more than 20 passes and Amari Cooper caught a stupid 124 passes to 2nd places 40. The next two years Alabama was a lot more balanced in distribution between Howard, Stewart and Ridley.
