Ace Combat 7 comes out this year...any AC vets here?

I played all the psp games, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 0. A few years ago I also tried Infinity, but gave up on it and just hooked up the ps2 and played the trinity again. Adding it all up it is probably the game series I played the most. I was so happy when I bought 0, I ran home and passed the entire game that afternoon. Still, 5 is my favorite. Hopefully the next thing after 7 is the remaster of 4, 5 and 0.

So I guess no one knows if AC7 will be fully VR compatible?

I've only played the one game on 360 but I'm looking forward to get back into the series.
If I had VR this would also be my must have game.

AC 4 and 5 were my top games for the PS2 generation and still rank in my GOAT list. 6 was good, but it stumbled in the story ("Go fly with the angels!" *shudder*).
I'm hoping for good things. I don't expect 7 to be as magical as 4 was when I played it at 15, but who knows. I might not yet be completely dead inside.
edit: also I would commit no less than a misdemeanor to get 4 and 5 remastered.

I've never played the series before but I'm intrigued by 7.

Despite also having the most engaging story and presentation, AC5 is just a straight up an amazing game. All the missions in the game are well varied, and that's something that most other AC games lack. Game still holds up incredibly well. The only thing dated about it is the lack of mid mission checkpoints
AC6 is the biggest let down in the series. I played that entire game just fuel bombing ground forces. Engaging in dogfights in that game just wasn't any fun at all, especially with that games slow ass missles. Also, that game's story is probably the dumbest most melodramatic crap I've ever seen in a video game. Music was nice though.

Never played AC but VR makes me really want to try it. Cockpit style combat just sounds like a perfect fit for VR.
Got Ace Combat 5 working on my PC recently can't wait to play it again after about 10 years, hopefully we get some remasters or PS2 classics of the other games. Can't wait for AC7, hopefully its a return to form.

I believe it's just a couple of VR missions unfortunately I remember reading about it in a kotaku article.
100% arcade if you want a simulation fix you are going to have to get in to DCS
Bummed about AC3 and AC6. Can't believe they turned a PS exclusive series into a Xbox exclusive! WTFF?
LOL I like it. The princess stuff is exactly the kind of corny shit that I like from Ace Combat games.
Love these games. 4 was my first one and I've played 0, 5, 6 and AH (eesh). Really looking forward to 7. Was one of my most looked forward to games last year before it got pushed and is definitely near the top of the list for me this year.
I'm not really a vet, having only played 3 a long time ago, but I have very fond memories of it and AC7 is a day 1 purchase for me this year.

I can't wait, I really hope it paves the way for the PS2 games on PS4. I worry about its potential sales though, people don't have good taste.
Played some of the old games, delighted at the chance to play the 1st proper ace combat on pc...
However I think VR is going to be a vomit inducing experience in games like this, because of the unnatural movement of the jets especially if you're using the cockpit camera, besides there is also concern about the transition between the gameplay and (the extreme) cutscenes...

I've played 5, 6, and (unfortunately) Assault Horizon. 7 looks to be a nice return to form, thankfully. Getting it for PS4 because of the VR; that's going to be absolutely crazy.

At first I only wanted to buy the controller, but beforehand I saw somebody playing the game in another videogame shop and I was floored, so the bundle was welcome ;)
Played AC 1,2,4 and 5. Still need to play Belkan War one day and I'm really hyped for Ace Combat 7 especially for the VR part, hope it's not just a small almost useless part à la GTS.

I'm still skeptical that 7 will reach the highs of 4-5-0, I'll keep a watch here on ERA to see what the AC veterans say about it, it's the one game that is tempting me to buy a ps4.
And I can't believe that the ps2 trilogy never got a remaster or even a ps2 classic release on PSN. If even prince of persia got one and that trilogy only had 1.5 good games in it.

I generally like arcadey air combat games, and I've enjoyed what I've played of Ace Combat 6, so I'm looking forward to this a lot.

I don't think I played that one yet. The last one I played was Assault Horizon since it was on a steam sale. But I'm pretty excited for 7.
