I feel Cirene is bigger than Memphis.

How are people approaching side quests here? Doing them all or just doing a few in between main quests? I feel like there a lot of them and not all of them are too interesting.
Booby trap the alarm/brazier thing. If there's one thing that annoys me is that, if you get caught by a guard, suddenly a shitton of people in horses (or boats if its a port) start popping like mushrooms. Like, guys that weren't in sight at all suddenly appear like if they had a radio to communicate.
It's not tha big of a deal for now because I'm kinda overleveled but man it's annoying.

Thinking of picking this up. Combat looks god awful though but game journalists are notoriously bad at gaming when talking so it's hard to judge.
Any good videos of competent combat?
Or is it just bad?
It's clunky Dark Souls it takes a while to get used to its a improvement from previous games.
They totally react, and hit boxes are perfect. They just need to work on animations and controls fluidity, I use alternative controls because the triggers are too unreliable.Do enemies just not react? Videos make it look almost mmo like. Just some numbers popping off.
That's.. Not very useful information haha.

Lol yeah. I've already closed the game and am calling it a night.

But it's in Giza where you found this dude in a cage who's looking for a ring.
It pains me to say it but there's not a single western studio that makes melee combat completely right. They do about half of the time you hit them, the other half they'll stand there in their combat stance like nothing happened. It's part of the reason I said this combat looks like an eastern euro studio with a low budget made it.
What do you do with the papyrus puzzles?
I have two in my inventory but no idea what I'm supposed to do with them.
Yeah, I guess I'll search the surrounding area thoroughly first thing in the morning tomorrow. Some times you'll find some soldiers of a garrison walking slightly outside/around it. Use the eagle and scope out the immediate surroundings too.
You have to read them, then figure out where on the map they puzzle is referring to. When you go to the point on the map, "something" will be waiting for you.
Ok...No, not really. Melee is just circle strafe, dodge/parry, and mash attack, using heavy/charged attacks to break shield defense and rage moves when you have meter. Human enemies can have different weapons and armor, and heavies/bosses have guard breaking attacks, but I've seen no more at a dozen hours in than in the first hour. Wildlife, be it lions or hippos or crocodiles, are similarly defeated (circle around, dodge, and mash attack).
As much as I wish there was a sequel to Dragon's Dogma, this is not it. Melee combat is serviceable (better than previous games in the series, The Witcher III, and Horizon Zero Dawn), but that's about it. You're not going to get your combat high here.
Yep, I kinda wish Bloodborne had an alternative control scheme now, I would actually play it.Alternative control scheme is so much better than standard. Combat is vastly improved using the face buttons to attack rather than the shoulder buttons and having dodge on circle is much more intuitive for me.
Do it.

Found my favorite outfit. You look like some kind of Egyptian ninja
I'm enjoying my time so far, but I just wanted to comment on how disappointing the music is. What should have been a highly emotional flashback ended up feeling weaker than it should have due to the complete lack of reinforcing background music.
Assassin's Creed 2 did a much better job of this. I'm gonna guess Jesper Kyd is not involved this time around.
Awesome. What's it called?
I wish the game had more masked outfits like this. There's the line of Persian outfits and this one, but I'd love more color schemes and whatnot.
