I... don't like this arc especially well. The whole "we're in space! And also, the future!" thing really isn't doing it for me, I like SHIELD being more (literally) grounded. Doesn't really help that it's a very clichéd action setup for a show that isn't really that big on action. I don't really dig the new characters as well, at least not yet.

Still watching and still liking it overall, but this season won't be among my favorites when it's all said and done.

I think the writing for this season has been pretty good but the only drawback for me has been that the budget/story keeping the setting to a few very similar looking sets. The writers have been working hard and making the show interesting in the context what what is going on, but unfortunately, the setting makes some stuff blend in together.

I applaud the showrunners for still remaining so ambitious for what they attempt with the show (which may also explain why they went back to 2 arcs for a season rather than 3 pods since they can reuse sets and costumes for longer) and doing a fullblown Kree arc with the Inhumans has been a long time coming for the show and is appropriate given that we'll never get that side of things since Inhumans was cancelled and Captain Marvel is probably where the MCU finally fleshes out the Kree a lot more but likely won't even deal with the idea of the Inhumans (though, who knows for sure). It's hard to top last season, but if this ended up being the final season, I'm pretty pleased with what they wanted to do with it. Time travel, space, Kree with Inhumans, Gravitonium, an actual world ending event they are trying to figure out, and FitzSimmons marriage.

I'm excited if we get a few more call backs going forward that we didn't expect. One thing that I felt was a bit of a plot thread that I was hoping they'd revisit in the future was the history of Hive and Hydra. That was a something I thought we'd learn a bit more about that weird abandoned planetary society where they found Hive. Maybe I missed something, but it seemed like they were teasing a bit more mystery about what went down in the past that I never got the answers I was looking for.

Agreed, not much to get excited or even intrigued about there. We'll see what they do with the character though.

I guess that shows what the main thrust of the back half will be, at least.

As cool as the whole space/future thing was I'm really ready to move on from the same old corridors at this point.

I do have to agree, that the execution of what I find an interesting idea hasn't had the tension or quality execution I'd like, some episodes have definitely been better than others, and sometimes Kasius and co feel inconsistent.

Except this isn't going to happen.
...
Because Ruth Negga is like an Oscar nominated movie star now.

Although I guess they could recast.

It's going to be something stupid like super yoyo who can do the same thing as her power but through time rather than space, so she can go in the future and come back

Nah

the seer is
Yo-Yo, she's the one Kasius called out by name for a reason. We already know this is a time loop that may finally be broken and they introduced Kasius being able to kill and bring people back. He probably kills Yo-Yo until she gives info.

Chloe Bennet at the Black Panther red carpet (the rest of the cast was there too, all of Coulson, May, Flint, Deke and Yoyo):

The actor who plays Carl Creel appears to be in a set trailer with Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma) on here Instagram story. Possibly returning later in the season?

edit: Which would imply Talbot is back later too I suppose.

Not sure if I'm going to be home in time to catch this one live. The move to Friday has made it pretty hard to catch this consistently.

Ward needs to be in this season one way or another. It's tradition at this point.
They could've had him show up in the Lighthouse. Ward had a secret kid who made it to the lighthouse and then that kid had a kid eventually and had a kid that looks JUST LIKE WARD but is like, Liam Ward or something and has a different haircut.
