That bodyguard ate those wings like a champ! What a legend. He was legit silently suffering for that second last one. Loved the editing this episode. Taraji was so drunk, though.

The bodyguard taking over was the only good thing about this episode. Dude is an absolute boss and destroys the wings.

Looking forward to an episode with a guest that is familiar with the show and talks shop about the new spread of sauces.

I ordered some out of curiosity, and I also didn't find it as hot as I expected. I don't have much other experience with super-hot sauces to compare it to, though, as I'm not normally into that. It's still obviously very hot by any normal standard, but a small dab wasn't a big deal. I tried around a teaspoon of it by itself on a spoon, which was fairly intense, but still pretty tolerable for me. (That did make my guts not feel great for the next day or so, though. :))

Haven't tried the Dab yet, but the other things they've had on the show don't stack against some of the other hot sauces I've tried. Dave's Insanity had me shook in a way that Zombie Apocalypse wasn't even stepping to. And I put the Ghost Pepper/Blueberry on pancakes. Shit's delicious, but the Bravado Special Reserve is a bigger bump in heat from the Blueberry Ghost than the bottle would indicate.

Anyway, Hot Ones is good stuff. I hope more people take a liking to it.

The Dab tastes like ass but it does bring the fire.

Also Sasha fucking owns this episode.

I've got some Dave's Ghost Naga Jalokia and it's pretty intense, about 650k according to google. I've done wings with it a couple times and it's got a pretty good taste for something that hot, though it's ruined my guts for days. I've started supplementing super hot wings with pre-and-post meal Pepto shots to hopefully curtail the severity of the ring sting.

Anyone every make their own sauce? I gave it a shot this week, mostly habeneros since my town has a painfully bas selection of peppers and they were the hottest available next to some dried ghost peppers (meh), and it turned out tasty but severely underwhelming on wings. I think I might grow some Carolina Reapers or Chocolate Bhuts this summer, get myself some real material to work with.

My coworker is infatuated with this show right now enough to where he's bought 6-7 different sauces from Heatonist and now wants to make his own hot sauce. He came back from lunch with a bag full of habaneros and I figured I'd tried the Last Dab, a lil habanero can't be that bad. HAHAHAHA. Wrong. I thought I was gonna keel over half an hour later trying to do some grocery shopping on my lunch break. The stomach cramps from that one little pepper fucked me up somethin' fierce.

Holy shit, Sasha Banks literally didn't even break a sweat while eating all those wings. They barely even fazed her. Most impressive guest since Neil Degrasse Tyson for handing them wings like they were nothing.

Theres something about Scovilles that doesnt add up to me. Ive had some sauces at 350k and they dont seem THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND TIMES more spicy than a jalapeño, maybe like, two times?

Its like children using hyperbole.

Amazing show though

Where are you getting your scoville rating for jalapeños from? Hot Jalapeños are around 10k.

Also, comparing sauces to fresh peppers is apples to oranges when it comes to scovilles.

Thats exactly my point. I had this sauce the other day

And yeah, it was spicy and all, but not THOUSAND times more spicy than a Jalapeño. Pretty good though.

Probably because you've built up a tolerance to chilli for one, and it's not easy for us to guess things like magnitudes of taste accurately. Sure we could say that's way more spicy than that, but get 100 people to guess by which factor and you'd probably get a wide variation of results.

So I got the fiery chipotle sauce. Tried a little taste and it's pretty good.

Not sure what I should make with it though. Any ideas? Lol...chicken? Idk.

Small bottle though :|

IIRC, the reasoning is something like the scovilles being measured by the dry ingredients in the sauce, before dilution from various liquids. This is why some sauces (like Da Bomb) burn more than others despite having lower SHU; it's less diluted. I find the El Yucateco sauces to be hotter than the Hot Ones Fiery Chipotle, despite the latter having nearly twice the SHU.

I know people quickly get fixated on SHUs, but for sauces it's best to only use them as a rough guide. They make more sense for the actual peppers.

Huh, did they start with sponsors on this episode? Or have I just not noticed the Mountain Dew logo before.

Someone in a Reddit thread mentioned that Sean has got Obama for the season finale episode. I want to believe.
