Welp, going to do some weekend raids at the known EX spots now because that seems like the only way to make this happen.

So new batch of Ex raids went out this evening for this Saturday (weird timing because its before the last Ex raid which is this coming Thursday!)
Looks like none for my town (not surprising since we only seem to have 3 valid gyms - one was out of play until yesterday and one is out of play until next Thursday)

Hey all, whats the cheapest device I can buy that can connect to my hotspot and play the game decently well?

No idea - however if your looking at cheap phones make sure it has at least 2mb free
For a cheap 'spare' phone we bought one of these chinese ones (I also got it because it has NFC and can be used for Amibos)

https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Ulefone-ARMOR-3GB-32GB-Rugged-Phone---Black-374424.html

It regularly goes on offer for around £100 - £110 / $140 - $160
It plays the game fine (a little slow for the world to pop in some times) and its screen took some getting used to but its good as a spare phone for us

yeah, I never got a Mewtwo raid doing weekday raids. I quit the game for a bit due to being frustrated by it all.

came back, did one bullet-train raid on community day and hit like 8 gyms in 2 hours and got the pass and mewtwo

Just caught a 100% Minun while sitting in my bed.

That makes 3 100% gen 3 Pokemon already (other 2 were Treecko and Wailmer).

Got another ex pass for Feb 3 along with Feb 08. The system is weirdly generous lately.

Take a screenshot of your progress and upload it to this website

https://qplanner.co.uk/tmp/pkmngo/

It will tell you how far you are off and what activities you need to get it there - its pretty accurate

Out of the newly released Pokémon, I haven't seen a single Lileep or Trapinch in the wild.

Luckily, I hatched Trapinch from a 10km and got 32 Candies which is the max. It was the only 10km I got from Gen 3 egg gathering, but that was one hell of a hatch.

That alone made the effort worth it. Still very far away from getting Wailord and Milotic.

Went for some nighttime catching when I left the club and saw the weather was clear.
- Three Baltoy so I could evolve a Claydoll
- My first three Numel, although I also spotted a Camerupt but that would have involved going through the mud.
- My first Cacnea, and my last because I already have a very weak Cacturn.
So I can focus on Numel, Lileep and Trapinch to catch.

Was the game really laggy a couple of hours ago? I went out to do 2 raids that were close together and couldn't do one on my low level account because it kept lagging and would take really long to login, and when it did log in it'd be too late to get into the room as it was either full or below 10 seconds left... lost a pass because of the lag and I had to go to the next raid already. Also lost a 2315 CP Kyogre on my main account and a 2310 CP one on the low level one.

Numel are common here in GA.

The other two are rare. Certainly spawn more in sunny weather.

Trapinch seems to spawn near beaches, Lileep as well. Numel and Cacnea are clear weather Pokémon.

I think I have a new goal for this year. I want to get to 5 million stardust by end of the year. I'm already 2.050 million, so on avg I need to do 60k a week.

The next big stardust event will of course give me a huge boost.

so down to 5 evolutionary chains to finish:

Lotad's final stage - 75 candy or so (this high pressure system bringing no rain to LA is KILLING ME)
Electrike - 30 candy or so
Snorunt - 44 candy
Trapinch final stage - 22 candy
Milotic - 12 candy.

Then need the Gen 3 babies (ugh.....), moon rock, and SE Asia regional to finish off Gen 3 as it currently stands.

I've found a few Shroomish. Quite a few Lotads but still need 30-odd more candy to fully evolve.

I have found one each of Lileep, Trapinch, and Numel.

Tough times.

Golden Razzberries have literally 0 effect on catchrate for me on legendaries. With or without, catchrate is about 1 out of 2 in the end. Stopped using them altogether, much more useful to pester other teams trying to take your gyms with them.

I mean, you had a string of poor luck with them (or good luck without), but they still give a 25% boost to your odds. That's well beyond negligible.

This is not how math works. You definitely should still use them if you want to catch legendaries.

Anyways, how long is Kyogre still around

7" of snow since yesterday afternoon and I only saw ingame snow over the course of two hours. I wanted to work on my steel badge.

Got my 90th Generation III Pokémon, Camerupt, weather turned clear so I managed to pick up a couple of Numel to finish him up. Also saw a Trapinch on the nearby, but he wasn't actually reachable. Still, this means I'm down to the Trapinch family and Cradily on the wild Pokémon. Those two Generation III Baby Pokémon though.

That is exactly how it works, If i use golden on 50 legendaries, catch 25, do the same without them and the rate stays the same, then it is obvious they make no difference whatsoever.
