Some of the cuts to commercials tonight were awkward.

Sucks for Khalil though. Whale's going to manipulate him into taking something to make him better ;_;

Next episode looks good.

Khalil about to learn the hard way that PS4 and mama's rent doesn't come without attachments.

Lady Eve bringing corpses back to life or something?

Anissa flexing with her new powers, might need to hit the junkyard again to get them in check.

Gamby sure does like keeping secrets.

Ep continues the upward trend from last ep show is starting to gel for me
Not sure if it counts as a Superman reference, when BL mentioned X-Ray vision
Not sure why Gambi is hiding shit from BL about an assassin or another metahuman
Greenlight drug... is this a weird reference to Green Lantern?
Anissa's overconfidence in her abilities, glad she found out picking fights with her super strength is a bad idea cuz she is not learning to hold back and could fatally kill people if she is not careful

I'm telling ya'll, Gambi is a father figure to BL. He's doing it to protect him so BL doesn't stray from the path he's on.

Gambi didn't tell BL about the metahuman because getting back to the warehouse was more important at the time. Gambi made that clear just a few seconds before that scene. Gambi also didn't tell BL about the assassin because Gambi knew BL would immediately go after Tobias for revenge. BL doesn't need that right now. He needs to focus first.

We need an origin on Gambi, how he got into all this, his smarts, his tech, why he wants to help the way he does

Decent episode.

I'm curious if Lady Eve works for any of the major DC villainous factions
I swear if we get The Dark Side Club in this I will lose it

Saw the most recent episode. I like this show so much. I really just want to see his daughter reveal her powers to her father. I also don't understand why the white dude didn't tell Lightning what he saw in the videos.

We've really got two options for what the fuck Gambi is up to: either he genuinely wants BL to succeed and is trying to minimize the distractions that could cut him off from that mission, or he's actually working for someone else and has been a villain the whole time.

It could honestly go either way at this point.

I was kinda hoping he'd get the picture then drop the phone and we'd see what they see... like a bright spot which obscures BL's face. We still haven't gotten a POV from a character in the show to see exactly why they can't see it's Jefferson.

When I watched it I was thinking Gambi at least suspects that he knows who the meta was one of Jefferson's daughters and wiping the footage also protects them and their sloppiness. Most likely wrong but, meh.

BL let the guy get pretty far... what if it was a trick to plant something? He's been out of practice for awhile...

And it's the classic Hero trope... a mask, or thing covering up your eyes instantly renders you invisible to your true identity

One thing I fuckin' loved was when Jefferson walked into the bar in costume, most of the people just ran the fuck outta there. It's so tired with the hordes of disposable mooks who're all convinced that no, really, they can totally take the local super badass! So seeing some guys realize what's up was great.
What kind of dumb ass asks to take a picture knowing he's going to knock you out? That shit was hilarious.
If getting KTFO is inevitable, you might as well try to get a selfie with a local celebrity out of it.

I like the balance this show has between dark realistic "black drama" and the inherent absurdity of the superhero aspect. It's a fine line to walk and they're doing it very well. The fact that they showed Lady Eve doing some sort of voodoo/zombie business to that dead guy is really intriguing. I do find it ironic that shes complaining that BL is alive when previously thought dead at that moment though.

I remember reading a week or so ago a person like the fact they didn't see Black Lightning very much on his own show... which is true, until this ep... where we've seen the most of him in many scenes kicking ass.

This show needs to be reminded it is still a Comic Book property, but walks a fine line to be keeping things ground level and dealing with urban issues...

Black Lightning for the moment really thrives from Krondon. The fighting on the other hand seems subpar.

The fighting isn't great but the characters and story plus a lot of cool funny moments makes up for it

The show doesn't seem the kind to feature fancy Kung fu or wire work shit... it should be a lot of street fight type of stuff, rough and sloppy... with occasional being levitated off the ground with his lightning powers

That is fine, I just don't think they are really selling their punches. It is not that it is sloppy fighting, it is that it is sloppy acting fighting.
